  1. Imagine what about a dozen of us Greasespotters could do if we were to go and volunteer our services. We could do a boatload of damage from the inside....and if they didn't know who we were......meaning....not me....I'm sure they know who I am (heh heh). Seriously....think about it. I'll bet "we" could get the job done in under a year, including the sale of the property.
  2. I was "imprisoned" a shade over 20 years and I never heard it either until I read it here.
  3. You're very very young. You may not have enough "real life experience" to compare your experiences with regular life. But because you are so young, the whole world is open to you and you can pick any path that suits your fancy. Do you have a good place to live? reliable transportation? How about a job? Although if you have somebody willing to let you skate on those and will pick those up for you that could give you a bit of breathing room. What do you think you would like us to help with first?
  4. I didn't see any place where the amount of land was listed. A huge hunk could make a big difference.

    Its Groundhog Day..

I rather like it with mint jelly.
  6. It's only those who are of the household of those of the prevailing word have to prevail in perfectness. Everybody else keeps the economy moving by buying houses, which normally require mortgages.
  7. Congratulations. Live long and prosper. Just for the record.....I've had nightmares way worser than this!!!! krys
  8. Wouldn't it be really cool if some day we walked into a public place and something like that happened to US....not just a U-tube video....but in our very own lives? Well - I can dream......can't I?
  9. The last I heard (about 12 years ago) one had to have taken the Advanced Class. (minimum) I don't believe there would be any problem with their pay scale. Everyone is supposed to be paid a salary that meets their "need". Many live on the grounds and take most of their meals there. I believe the noon meal is a requirement. With all of these "benefits"I don't believe anyone will be complaining about their wages (at least not to anyone who can do anything about it)
  10. but I really enjoyed this one" very smooth
  11. nope! not unless or until we are belly up. Then it's too late.
  12. I know you're right about the money Groucho. Is there any way that we can take them down?

    After Facing Cancer

Very very cool Tommy. Looks like you're heading into the first turn on the track in good shape. Hooray !
  14. agreed - - after the sex-harassment suit those antics were toned down....but are they still happening and we don't know about it because we're now on the outside???? dunno After the lawsuit about the abs (was that the P@@k$r suit?) it seems they're not pressing this...at least as far as we can determine. But I do believe that the leopard can't or won't change it's spots. They have plenty of fat to live lavishly until a whole generation of "believers" washes under the bridge and then start again. There mush be some things we can genuinely press upon to keep people aware and keep them out of that cesspool. It might do us a world of good to increase the scope of our thinking and bring it up to the present, or near present group that doesn't seem to be drugged, or sexually deviant or any of the other past ills which most of us found so ugly. Perhaps we can find some totally honest up to date materials that we can wrap around their necks (or pick another personaol private pace of your own choosing )that we can use to choke them to death
  15. This all sounds so familiar to me. Remember when I ran into some "believers" in the early fall? I started a thread about it here. I keep in touch with this couple since they mean so much to hubby and I and I'm looking for a way to separate them from "their" ministry. Everything that's been stated here about a "new" ministry seems to be substantiated by them. They even like RFR saying she is a soft spoken sweet person. Anyone who wants to can go back....no questions asked! I can't understand this, but it's possible their lawyers suggested this to keep other lawsuits at bay? I don't believe this is coming out of the goodness of their hearts, there must be a reason....but the outward appearances are changing. Maybe some of us should go back....infiltrate the ranks and check it out ? (aaaaakkkkkk - - gag!)
  16. Ham - - when I get done with the pool, I'd kill for a ride in that!
  17. I wish I could go. My BC called me and asked me if I wanted to "get blessed" so of course I jumped at the opportunity! So, they're going on vacation, and while they are away they want me to take care of the outside areas, mow grasses, take care of shrubs etc. Also, they charged me with taking care of their pool; hyper-chlorinate...monitor pH...scrub pool deck and diving board surfaces, scrub the lanai furniture, backwash the pool filter and vacuum the crud from the pool bottom. I think they said they were going on a cruise!

    Windows 7

I ran into Open Office and since I found it I love it. It is everything the big brand name is but costs nothing. It is upgraded frequently and has a very short smooth learning curve. RumRunner's suggestions need no seconding, I am just another very satisfied user. It will cost nothing to try it, and if it works for you, you'll save bundles on forthcoming Windoz upgrades.
  19. Actually, George, usually it is the simplest or least complex answer which turns out to be the truth.

    Edith`s adventure

What an experience for those who were there. You're right Rascal, it does go counter to what we were taught. Some day we'll know the whole truth but for now I'll think of it as a gift to Edith and her family.
  21. mstar I think we all feel the same way. Certain terms and phrases still make me feel like I'm hearing fingernails on a chalk board. I burned every item I owned that even reminded me of twi. I didn't get into twi until I was nearly 40. I'd been raised in a very conservative church and much of my life, all my life, was structured around it. I do not know why or how I was suckered in....but I do know that there was some truth there....plenty of truth. When we finally saw the evil there, and left it.....most of us tended to leave everything "biblical" behind with it and I believe that was a mistake. It surely was a natural and human reaction, but we tossed the truth out with the Drambuie and the motor-coach and the 15% giving level. I was even afraid to pick up a bible since so much of their droning was drilled into my thinking. After a while thoughts from my early training and those from twi's crapola began popping into my mind and I finally had to go back and review what I knew or thought I knew. One of the areas in scripture which twi sort of ignored was the gospels so I figured that would be a good bet. I enjoyed them.....it was more or less easy reading. One time as I was riveted in John I came across Jesus prayer for us just before his betrayal. (end of ch 16 through 17.) He asked his Father to keep us from evil (the idea of protection) and that we would be with him where he is after the upcoming events (of course this is paraphrased), Doesn't that sound like "sanctification" and "seated in the heavenlies" and "at the right hand of God"...which were twi's terms for them. That was a big aha moment for me. Others who've gone back to try to get to the truth perhaps have had their own "aha moments" but the general principle is the same. TWI preached "bible worship" and "leadership worship" of a sort with an absent Christ. They had to keep him absent or we would have seen their lies and their gig would have been up.
  22. It won't take much more of these kinds of posts until this thread ends up in the Doctrinal Forum because this is not per se a Christian site. However your statement quoted above begins to find (the) truth for every individual. Signs which point to the truth are where you find them...but you can pretty much tell what or who is Christian by the way they live their lives. We're all different...abilities....personalities....etc. but we were given two essential laws: love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength - - and your neighbor as yourself. As long as that's what you're doing you're right on target. It doesn't matter if you write or perform music, practice medicine, research science run a vegetarian restaurant or tailor suits "for a living" and ride motorcycles for fun! Truth is such a big category; and so small at the same time, that none of us as an individual can define it altogether. It is what it is and if we're trucking along with it, it will be made plain (twi called it "manifest") according to how we are displaying it as individuals.
