  1. agreed.....we're on the same page Skyrider :)
  2. There is, according to our Constitution, supposed to be separation of Church and State. So what difference does it make what the "religious" leaning of the President is. It shouldn't matter....all he does is sign the bills after he's managed to twist Congress' arm in order to pass anything of substance (heh heh heh). Are you meaning to tell me that a Jew could not be president? How about a Hindu? Moderate Islamist? There, I've gone and done it now.....huh! Remember...in order to be President he must have been Born and American.
  3. I disagree about that Skyrider. If Ham is observing the "rules" of walking in love as he teaches and disciplines his class in mathematics, he's teaching in a Godly way. He's working heartily unto the lord, showing no preference to anyone, encouraging and lifting up the weaker students and so on.....he is working in his profession in a Godly way. That's what God expects. We cannot all sit around thumping bibles all day....we need to work. Paul worked, Jesus worked. They had secular jobs. Even the most-honorable-and-highly-elevated Corps were all working secular jobs.....putting out a magazine....food preparation, motor pool, housekeeping etc. Was vacuuming the auditorium and different from vacuuming ay home? I don't think so....a carpet is a carpet is a carpet.
  4. Old school, I think many of us feel like that. And that is a shame. Of course our opinions change as we grow....and at the moment, I don't think it matters to God what church we associate ourselves with, it, indeed we do gravitate to one special church. It's the life that we live, the love that we live and the way we live to glorify Him that's important.
  5. And if they got them young enough - around 18 ish - their brains aren't fully formed....so they cannot think critically. That comes between 22 - 25.
  6. Chock-full has an interesting take....she hasn't raised up any leadership to take over. Right! There isn't any raw material to work with, save Donna. I believe Donna could be Pres....but I don't know any of the others there well enough to believe they could. See - - If she kicks them off the teat to teach them.....it's gonna hut like hell! Can Ii get an amen? Amen. Once you have eaten meat and drunk the wine at the king's table....who wants to go back to mils, apple juice and bowls of familla in February???
  7. Methinks she still may remember where all the bodies are hidden - - but if she's inadvertently forgotten one or two.... she owns the key to the box where the Golden Map is!

    The Wandas

    Very nice, indeed!
  10. Naming a building or part of one for a special or beloved person of a particular group isn't evil in and of itself. But when the naming elevates the building and causes it to be reverenced, that is another thing.
  11. time to enjoy my life and the fruits of my labor
  12. Chunkies were always my favorite. The big fat chunk not the bar kind. I liked Mary Janes and also 100,000 bars. But candy wasn't my favorite treat. My all time and still my very favorite treat is chocolate peanut butter ice cream made locally by VanDyk. It resembles vanilla fudge with a stripe of real peanut butter running through it.You can tell that the PB is real because it's a little salty.
  13. I think it's pretty cool! Happiness beats the alternative, so I'm glad you both found it.

    The Cone of Irene

first landfall - Cape Hatteras Second Landfall - Little Egg Harbor NJ made a pretty big mess of Long Island, NJ and Lower Hudson Valley.....then Vermont. We have water all over. Every place you want to get to requires a detour around a lake or river!

    The Cone of Irene

It's heading for N Carolina on the WAG you posted! Won't it be fun, the day one of these heat machines head right for NYC and the storm surge hits.....lots of fun in the subways.......
  17. I did...just barely. in NJ...but at first I didn't know what it was.
  18. Congratulations on receiving your sheepskin. That was a lot of hard work.
  19. She looks about the same to me. She has a shorter hair style and I think she's a little heavier. Somehow age (maybe it's weathering) seems to have softened the appearance of some of the features of her face. I don't think I've ever seen her in anything other than a black and white small print dress. Maybe it's all the same fabric....maybe she bought the bolt.
  20. And there are only so many plays in their playbook. One must be thoroughly committed to leaving in order to take the chance.

    Capital punishment

I don't know what it is but something's going on in my old stomping ground. I grew up in Queens, but much of my younger life was spent on L.I. It seems that there is a very large problem with heroin among the high school population. It's been quite a number of years since I spent a whole lot of time there, but over the later years I had feelings almost like the walls closing in. It's population is growing and the fact that it's an island means there's restricted places to spread out. If you're far enough out, such as the region around this area...to get off the Island takes hours just to get to the NYC before you can really start going anywhere.
  23. Sorry Groucho - - we're all gone now :)
  24. .....and I second WordWolf's motion........ Hello Mr. Linder! Enjoy your half-day!
