  1. You know most of the Doctorates I know of are not in a subject, per se, but they give you a Doctor of Philosophy! Each person, studied in a different area. But that was the degree they were awarded. I don't know why! Edited to add that I wish you the very best and I am hoping for a speedy decision.
  2. This is from WordWolf's post #10 above: The bold is mine for emphasis [snip] God's healing is real. I've seen some miraculous healings, I've received it a time or two and I've ministered it a time or two...and many of you have done likewise. It's too bad that the man who taught about it wasn't convinced. WordWolf didn't make a mistake in writing....vp considered God's healing as "magic". I've never known God to do any magic!
  3. So - - the evil is continuing. We don't know how many women and men were violated directly, or covertly destroyed by face-melting, or dismissed wrongly from corps or a certain position. There were all kinds of evil. We've discussed many examples. This is also evil. People are being robbed of things they don't even know about. I'm sure their monies are still being collected and their time is still being manipulated. It seems likely that this is going to continue.
  4. hhhmmmmmmm OK! That's in keeping with the stated "idea", so it makes logical sense and is most probably true, therefore. It doesn't make sense to me....I was the one asking for a reason..... Thanks Ham. WordWolf, I guess this leaves you off the hook here, unless you'd like to add to Ham's explanation. (You don't have to - - Ham's explanation holds water)
  5. WordWolf: if you know the reason(s) why some other people think this is an outrage, can you explain it please?
  6. This thread was started about 3 months ago. Maybe you weren't sure you needed help then. Maybe you were afraid to ask publically. I understand that.....maybe more than some of the rest who come here. If that's the case leave me a private topic and I'll answer you in private. Those who come here, and spend any length of time here reading all the threads and papers I or most of the threads) if they're able to think straight, may need a bit of help to adjust. Some won't. I did need some help. It took somebody who really knew to show me where my brain was tripping up. No brainwashing...just simple loving logic. So - - here I am! And I'm with Groucho and the resr.

    opiate addiction

There is a way of removing all the substance from the blood under anesthesia. It takes about a day give or take a bit, depending on how much is in your system....but when you wake up...you're "clean" and since all the material has been removed, one should only require out patient therapy or or "rehab". I also know of one or 2 folks who have been shifted over to methadone from opiate who were addicted to them as a result of long medical treatments (such as burn patients). They could live normal lives and then very slowly rhe methadone dose was reduced until it was no longer needed. Supervised medical detox is usually necessary for not only comfort, but also, some people who try to do it alone can shock their systems so badly that they cannot make it or else become very sick in the process. I think you would do well having a heart to heart consultation with a doctor whom you trust...perhaps your own physician.
  8. Hence they were able to substitute "the Word" or "so and so's teachings" to take the place of the absent Christ. Of course Christ was absent....he was never allowed in view of the organization in the first place. And, indeed, they did have their reward, but not of the Father.
  9. You've lost me. Here he's specifically saying "i give this command (not I but the Lord) He's stating that this isn't his idea, the Lord commanded. The last sentence he stipulates that what he's said is his opinion.....not a commandment of the Lord. Did I misunderstand your idea about Scripture? Here is seems that Paul is marking out 2 places which are commandments and one which isn't.
  10. 'll save it the trouble.......my shoe size = 7 1/2.
  11. I don't think I'll ever be into Win8 as long as the following is true. Win8 reads your (Hotmail) address book and tells you lots of things about the people in your address book and has added my Hotmail contacts as contacts in Skype (yeah, I really wanted them to do that...not). It's added stuff in my Facebook account too. You might wonder what info about yourself it is passing to other users. Disgracefully (but secretly in the background) intrusive - though Microsoft would say it's doing everyone a favor. There is a reason I don't put all my business "out there"....I don't think I'll let Win8 do it for me.
  12. Wow! Thanks Twinky...I really appreciate all that. I'm not ready for that. I appreciate the detailed response. I'll get a Win7 equipped machine with as much memory as I can pack into it to give me as much of a buffer between me and Win8 as possible.
  13. Hello: This beast is pretty old (purchased in 2005). It works fine, but it's XP and I would like to run a few things that won't accept XP. These are pretty complex embroidery design software that I want to use. They are also heavy graphics. I will clean this one up and give it to somebody I know who wants to learn about computers. I don't mind laying out money for a new one as tall the prices are really cheap compared to what they used to be....do I get a Windows 7 or go for the 8. I have a simple cell phone....I make and receive calls on it only! Other gadgets like ipods etc....I have a very old ipod and all it does is play music and I don't need it to do anything more. I mention these things because some of the things Windows 8 does is similar to some of the "goodies" on newer ipods etc. Thanks for your input.
  14. Chockfull, IMO your post above is right on the money.
  15. Life under Intense Management can't really be sweet. You're only allowed to be home and at work and other places by arrangement. But unless it's in your list of allowed places, don't expect to stop in the 7-11 for coffee on the way to work! Random urine tests mean no drugs and probably no alcohol, although you might have a low level tolerated. Your right to vote is only rescinded if you're incarcerated for one year and 1 day. But you can't get it back. The ankle bracelet means they will always know where you are. You know, now that I am writing all this, maybe we'd be better off if most of the prison's clientelle (the non violent ones) had this kind of Intense Management. They would at least pay their own way....

    Horseplay!

I might consider it horse play ONLY if the penis belonged to a horse and he was playing with it!
  17. I can hear it coming now - - there is almost always a raging discussion over this topic- - but I'm gonna say it anyway! Who the hell are "we" to decide for somebody else what they should do governing one of the most important decisions of their lives! Why should somebody tell somebody else to abort their late or early term *foetus* because 2 years ago they swore allegiance to the corps - - or having been graduated out of the corps only 2 years ago...it's not their turn yet to start a family!
  18. Ham - - you have woolie worms already?
  19. Hmmm How can we expect them to keep "it" in their pants.....when part of the spoken doctrine among the higher-ups especially....was to do just the opposite? AND the women were taught they were supposed to bless the mogs. There was no way keeping "it" in their pants would ever have been a viable thought!
  20. Wow! There are a lot of ideas floating around on thee 2 pages. Some of these ideas seem to speak of the same thing and some not (at least from my perspective) I'll speak to the "DNA ...junk science?" now. The answer is definitely not. DNA directs the process of protein building within cells. Geneticists have broken the code of the DNA and translated it to coordinating amino acids in the protein. One of the most fascinating things I've ever found during the course of my studies is that similar proteins in various animals is nearly identical. Hemoglobin is hemoglobin is hemoglobin with very few exceptions. The DNA that codes for these hemoglobins is likewise virtually identical. As far as I know, molecules such as insulin, which have the same function in the higher animals (vertebrates) have nearly identical biochemical structure and virtually identical DNA and this is not just among and between the great apes, but in all animals that use them.
  21. from Ham <br style="color: rgb(28, 40, 55); font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; background-color: rgb(250, 251, 252);">If it's really a compulsory tithe....absolutely nothing! Anything given freely from the heart will bring profit all the way around. However, if "they" have to squeeze it out of you....there will be no profit.
  22. Good point Waysider Those who still think like this are putting the "doctrine" of a man ahead of the "doctrine" of God (or Scriptures) And if; you recognized it and called them on it, they went for your throat.
