Flu Season - Think about a flu shot
krys replied to QamiQazi's topic in Health, Wellness, and Fitness
The latest thinking on the pneumonia vaccine is that if you are under 65 - and have had the vaccine more than 8 - 10 years ago, it's a good idea to get another shot. Generally folks aged 65 only need it once but people with serious health issues and those with lung diseases may be advised otherwise according to their doctors. -
Flu Season - Think about a flu shot

MadMan says - - "The lessons are repeated until they are learned" I got the flu...brought it home to my father. We both got pneumonia...I lived...he didn't! If you don't care about yourself getting the flu..at least protect your elder loved ones...they don't have enough reserve to be successful in fighting it off. -
You can't pick and choose! Heath is work. IMHO too many of us are lazy on the health building principles in what we eat, or how we do or don't exercise etc...and then, when there's a problem, expect a quick fix from the medical profession. Sometimes we get lucky and an occaisional antibiotic does the "trick". I don't think that works most of the time. If most of us would put half as much effort into our health, and building healing in and squeezind disease out, we'd be better for it. I'm not the one to speak as the voice of authority, though. What I did is not necessarily what I should have done. I know better now, but I still have years of necgect to negate...I wonder if it can be done!!!???

Where were you 40 years ago when you heard? JFK Assassination
krys replied to Rocky's topic in Health, Wellness, and Fitness
It is a piece of our history. It's part of what shapes us today. If we don't remember these past events, they are likely to be repeated. It was a time when it was refreshing to have young children in the White House. Many women so admired Jackie and her sense of fashion that we tried to copy her looks. Pill-box hats were the rage. A Presiential assination is a very big deal to those who lived through it. I hope you never have to do that. No matter the politics of the person...the assination of a President is a very terrible thing - - it rocks you to your core - - it robs your sense of security. The grief is not only for the life lost, you know. It made so many of us feel so vulnerable. -

I was a junior in college at SUNY Stony Brook fishing in the bottom of my dorm room closet for my lab sneakers on my way to work there. -
Wasway is in deep trouble. As of this posting...he left the THE thread directly above the toilet thread...... Shame on you....what happenes if THE gets drunk again and falls in? A laundromat is one thing....but a "terlit" is quite another.
-
Nope! Not if I can help it! I'm thankful for THE!

What a shame Pirate! My nephew did something similar about a year ago. He left a note saying how unhappy he was...but nobody ever would have guessed it. It does really make me wonder. Hugs to your wife, and yourself, and of course her family and friends.

May I add my thanks as well!

Go back to the site Steve sent the link to. Look on the right above the black menu bar...there is a place where you will see "House Call". Click on the link. Follow the directions. You will download an application which will be used by the site to scan your system for free. It is totally free. They don't even ask for a naame.

So what was the Christian Family and Sex class about?

no no no - - no flames for you excathedra! That was a profound statement. The fact that you made it shows what you're really all about. -

Why put the ominous deed on Paw? He provides the playground...but surely we can decide who gets to play with us! We have voices! We are responsible for our own actions. We are grownups...don't make Paw to be the bad guy to ban the creep...we can do it ourselves, and it leaves no blame on Paw. Why not stick up for ourselves and totally ignore the creep? We can stick up for ourselves...trouble is, we keep thinking we can talk sense to him. Give it up! We tried long enough...it ain't gonna happen. Ignore the creep. Stop talking about him...stop responding to his posts. It will take self discipline, but we all have that...and we will drive him out into the dessert. Pawtucket should not have to do what we can do for ourselves. -

Hey you guys! IMHO we need to stop this discussion right here. Mike has succeeded in sucking us into his game played on his turf (GS is where we usually play...entendre and sicko mind altering diatribes glorifying a dead sicko pervert is his turf). This was a great thread discussing the topic of CFS and many great points and ideas were put forth. Along comes Mike and we are sucked into the vacuum of Mike's "Dead Pervert's Society" from which we know there will be no return. This is worse than talking to dry wall (thanks Up On High for the analogy) because at least when you talk to dry wall...sound waves bounce back. At this point it is like we are feeding a troll who is getting off on this. It is time we pulled the plug! GAME OVER
