I've known them from NJ also and they are both beloved of my family. I would dearly love to have a way to contact them.

George: I know what I have done. I was there. I remember it and I know it was of God. When I first heard that it was possible to work miracles in healing, I decided that was what I wanted to do and I went for it. I studied all about it from every place I could and I gained a lot of knowledge. But Father taught me four times as much in the actual doing of them. I wish I could change the rules for you George, but I can't.

I know what you mean by harrassment! I'm so sorry you had to endure that. I saw it happening while I was still "in" and it made me sick, that someone who was a brother 24 hours ago was such a "schlepp" in the next second. When I left I planned it too....here is how I did it. One fellowship meeting, I just didn't want to go...so I didn't and I didn't call before hand. I just didn't show. During the meetint, I phoned (knowing that the tc turned off the ringer on his phone) and left a message on the answering machine with a "don't call me anymore" at the end of it. They didn't! I went to school of the poor folks like you who did have to go through this. It is very degrading and dehumanizing and they do it for their own pleasure and to keep fellow twi'ers from getting close to you to find out why you left....lest they understand!

I hesitate to post here because I'm not into starting a war and these kinds of discussions frequently end up that way. However, I can't let this stuff go by because there's too much fallacy in a lot of it. Many of you know of my love for science, particularly biology, and my strong science background. I have never spent any energy studying any "natural system" and not seen the Hand of God in it! (1)Science never lies. Scientists have been known to manipulate stuff, but science always answers truthfully. And it doesn't matter if one explores living things, or non-living things. Whatever bad rap it has, is because of some trying to use "science" to prove their own ideas, or some scientists who have deliberately hidden "stuff" for fame or money. (2)Charles Darwin was not wrong about what he wrote and the way he wrote it. His book The Origin of Species is a well thought out, logical and flawless explanation of exactly that, no more, no less. Those who say he said "from ameoba to man" are wrong, he never said that...and he didn't believe it. That statement implies a linear progression from one to another and so on. There is nobody on the face of the earth who can prove or even demonstrate that there is truth in this statement. (3) Charles Darwin was a brave man. What he did when publishing the Origin of Species took amazing bravery, and he was not well when it was published. What he proposed flew in the face of church at the time and we all know that "The Church" has always tried to retain control over men's thinking as a means of controlling them. "The Church" excommunicated and then executed one of the greatest astronomers of all time because he taught that the earth was not the center of the Universe by showing that the planets revolved around the sun, not the other way around. (4)The Descent of Man was a totally separate book and a totally separate thesis which, he wrote under pressure of some of his peers. That book attempts to use the "Law" of Natural Selection to demonstrate the relationship between "the apes" and man. Darwin did not believe than man descended directly from the apes, but he did attempt to apply this theory anyway. He even explained in the preface (or maybe the foreward, I've forgotten what it was) that this was the case, and he even stated in there: "God forgive me if I am wrong"! (5) "The Orogin of Species" and "The Descent of Man" are two separate books which he never intended to be put together. That was done by the book publishers "for the convenience of the reader" because the publishers thought they belonged together. (6) The only reason any of Darwin's critics in his own time and shortly afterward gained any sympathy for their own cause was that Darwin could not explain how it might have happened. The answer was known, but not to him. The answer was in the work of Gregor Mendel who is the "Father of Genetics". Darwin never knew about cells and chromosomes...never looked in a microscope and did not know of the "Chromosome Theory of Heredity"[That idea was also one that "The Church" tried to squelch but they could never make anything against Gregor Mendel stick. He was a monk, no less...but they did have the last word when he died...as a monk. They took all his belongings and burned them in the courtyard of his monistary.]

I've seen a few, and worked a few thanks to God. It was His Power for sure, I was just the agent! A believer I was working a party with (waitressing) had lifted some might heavy loads. She complained of pain in her shoulder blade and she asked me to minister to her. I did and as I prayed, I ran my finger across her shoulder blade from one side to the other. She was instantly healed from a connective tissue tear and where I ran my finger is where the pain was, but I didn't know that at the time. I've told this story before so I will keep it short. Last nite of the ROA (forget the year) I healed a man who had lost the use of his left arm about 2 years prior to that evening from a stroke. He could move it just fine, including the fingers when I was finished praying. The only thing that wasn't "instantaneous" was strength in the muscles. That he had to do for himself as they had atrophied from lack of use for 2 years. A beautiful young black girl in one of the schools I taught at had a huge deep and ugly burn on the side of her face. I asked her how she did it and she told me "with my curling iron" and when she spoke I just knew she could be healed. So I asked her if she believed in miracles because if not, I wasn't going to look like an idiot ministering to her in the crowded hallway before homeroom. She said yes, I asked her to stay by me for the moment so we could take care of it and I would get her excused from homeroom tardiness. When the bell rang and the halls cleared and she calmed down some, I prayed for her silently, but when I was done...she said "in the name of Jesus Christ - Amen". I walked her to homeroom and just told her teacher I had detained her and that was that. I saw her later that day during my lunch duty. There was practically no evidence of the burn...there was some inflamation, but you would have to know where it was to spot it. She thanked me manyfold and I just said, "you know where that came from, don't you?" and she said she did so I asked her not to make a big deal over it because we're not supposed to pray in a public school. I winked at her as I said this, and then we both started laughing. A tc I once knew had some surgery in the back of his throat to correct something and a few days later was trying to conduct our communion service. He was very tense from pain, not onlu in his throat, but also backing up into his ears. His voice was barely audible for the pain. I remember "talking" to the Father, and saying something about I knew this was going to be a healing evening, but I was starting early because no man of God trying to serve His people like this should have to endure this kind of pain. And when I finished, his voice came back, and he relaxed mid sentence. He looked over at me, and I nodded slightly...and that was that. Even now, I can still do them occasionally. Not that God is any different now than before...but I don't run into people often who appear to believe but when the situation presents itself, I enjoy taking care of "things".

No it wasn't! It was made to look like that, but we all know that God would not spit in our direction unless we shelled out a certain %. If we thought it was "free will" we were kidding ourselves. They supervised our budget and made sure a certain % was the first thing listed. They had a guaranteed predictable income and if your name did not appear on a blue form periodically next to a decent chunk of change you heard about it!

I watch it sometimes, and I agree with you sunesis. But I really like watching the "cops" track down and nail the offenders.

You can open the properties folder for that email and then click on the details tab. Highlight everything that results and copy it. Forward the email to "support@yourISP.com" or "abuse@yourISP.com". Before you send it, paste what you copied at the top of the questional email....they need all that info. They will probably go after the owner of the ISP and let them know about it. I asked what good would that do...and tech support reminded me that spam is a bigger problem for them than it is for me in terms of the number of "dead" emails they have to process daily. So most ISP's will ban the user or take some other preventative steps. My ISP offers Webmail, which means I can be anywhere, and access my email account. They also have as part of this "service" a filtering option. I've been using it and it does help...but I didn't want to put myself in the "kill file". The teck said I should look for a "new" option in the Webmail...it is called "blacklist". That blocks any further email from the server that sent that particular email. I had the time...and so I went through some of the stuff I had relegated to dump and found about 6 emails all in the past 2 weeks where this happened...email came in appearing from myself and I blacklisted them all. There's gotta be a better way! But so far I haven't found it.

I was getting rid of spam, and some was so annoying or filthy - I didn't want to ever see it again...so I opened its properties and lo and behold...it came from me....somebody else's name with my totally complete email address. I called my ISP - and found out some ways to block it without blocking your own email address so you can send something to yourself. I've posted the info in the Computers Forums.

Holiday Gift-Giving Time Is Approaching...

I used to preserve a lot of things for my family. I canned lots of stuff....peaches, pears....but I don't have the equipment any more....I wonder how I can get some? (I really feel safest with a pressure canner, not open kettle, which most think is ok) I made spiced berry jams from buschels or other large collections in season. It took two or more days in the end of August, and was hard work and I sweated a lot...but everybody loved it...and anything home made makes people feel special! BUT - if you're not "crafty" or don't have time...there's nothing that says you can't be creative in selecting gifts! Tickets for the theater or sporting events can be very much prized. One of the shopping malls near me have a kiosk (sp)? that specializes in bamboo. They have some really beautiful things - some of them are works of art, really. Excathy if you mom drools over fabric, see if you can find one she really really loves and get a salesperson to help you figure out how much to buy. Suppose she wants to make a blazer (just picked that out of a hat)..get all the stuff she needs to make it and when she opens the gift she'll be in heaven. -

Flu Season - Think about a flu shot
krys replied to QamiQazi's topic in Health, Wellness, and Fitness
Did you hear the joke about the man who fell overboard and depended on God to save him? A small rowboat came bye and asked him if he needed help...the man said God will save me...and refused the ride. Along came a 50 foot cabin cruiser with all the amenities....asked him he they could toss him a line...the man says...no thanks...God will save me. Next comes a helicopter and as they lower the ladder for him to climb up he says...no thanks God will save me....so the helicopter left the scene. The man drowned and at the Pearly Gates he asked God why he didn't save him. God answered, I sent you a row boat, a cabin cruiser and a hellicopter...what more did you want? Do you expect to smoke your brains out for 50 years and expect to avoid lung damage because God will protect you? Do you think it's fine to weigh 300 pounds and more and expect God to protect your heart and joints? Do you avoid the flu shot like the plague because Dr.'s peddle it? I agree there are some risks with any immunization. Just weigh them prudently. God expects us to be prudent. Polio was wiped out because of immunisations as was Small Pox. There were risks associated with both of these too. -
Flu Season - Think about a flu shot

...by news info that this year's flu shot might not cover this year's flu. That's not really a problem. There are 3 strains in the vaccine. One and only one has drifted (long technical explanation given later upon request)...and if you happen to become inflicted with that one strain....your shot will most likely protect you anyway by making the symptoms and duration less significant. You know QQ and you know me! We don't succumb to "hysteria" (at least I rarely do) QQ is made of steel! Please take steps to protect you and your loved ones. You can't give them the flu if you don't get it...and how many of you can afford to risk up to a week's worth of work?? -

Masterherbalist recommended something for me via private email a year ago or more...I was suffering so bad with hot flashes, I was getting no sleep. American Botanical Pharmacy 1-800-HERBDOC It worked at least as well as hormones I took for about 6 months before the cancer threat scared me off.

Flu Season - Think about a flu shot

QQ: It was a hard lesson. The actual cause of death was a massive heart attack provoked by the pneumonia. He had never had a heart attack, but it was discovered after his death that with or without the pneumonia, sooner or later it was "destined" to happen.
