17 times with my rump plunked in a folding chair from the first second to the last! Once on the floor in an overflow room in the July heat...and more times than I can count when I was on a crew and popped in and out of the classroom. My middle name was coffee cans and styrofoam cups.

Some things we do require thinking, others don't. We don't normally need to think when we walk so we can walk and talk. But - if you come across an obstacle, you stop talking until you've figured you way out of it. When we practice a mechanical task, it can go on in the "background" like Cool's pouring drinks....and making change. The reality is, we can only THINK one thought at a time...a thought doesn't mean walking or pouring drinks....it means thought - an "abstract" thing. I can sit here and type out what I think and have the TV on...and sorta follow the story line because the brain is quick to jump back and forth between the 2. However if I want to really watch and follow the program, I have to stop typing. -
Some of these are so awesome, that if I owned themn, I would have them blown up and framed to hang is some places of my home. I had a friend who was lucky enough to be able to snap a photo of a birch tree in an ice storem just outside her front door. She snapped such a rare shot - the ice was sparkling like diamonds...she caught it just a few minutes before the sun melted the ice and released the tree. She had that blown up to poster size and hung it in her living room. Beauty really is where you find it and I appreciate you sharing these thing with us.

Thanks HAPe - - I've pretty well decided against HDTV because of the high pricetag. I need a new TV, that's for sure....but with a flat screen, I think that should be fine for now. I've come across a "small" windfall, and need to squeeze as much out of it as possible! I'm not going to buy new windows because I don't own the house! The landlord is working with me to upgrade some of the features of this apartment. The kitchen floor is mid-sixties loud Mediteranian bue-green-gold and is so loud that I have to look twice to find the cat's dishes! That is the first thing to be replaced, and he will split the cost with me. The windows are double hung, but he will change them out but not untel next spring or the following fall....priorities, ya know.

Thanks everybody! thousdandnames - never thought of that! duh!!!

I have HD-delivering cable service...and don't mind the extra cash they charge as I don't spend much money of entertainment and spend a lot of time in the house watching TV. I have a number of HD cable channels already. Someone is gifting me a Bose cd-radio and I was thinking of running the sound through that. This room is pretty small for surround sound...it could be overwelming. The Star Wars trilogy is already on order :)-->

I have a few questions - if you have any insight - I'd appreciate your comments. You'll soon see how little I know about modern TV's and other important information! I need a new TV. I'm confused. I'd like to get an HDTV but I wonder if it's worth the extra money. what is the advantage of "Wide Screen" I've been told that plasmas aren't worth the money and I don't think I need that...but what about "flat screen"? Is one brand significantly better than another or should price be my guide? I have a broken window...the cord is broken so the window will not stay up. can it be repaired?? if so what kind of repair-person do I call? Do I have to buy a new set of windows for that room? I have 2 cats who love to sun themselves in the window sills. Each has fallen through a screen one time. I live on the second floor of a 2 story house. Since the cooler weather is here, I'd like to open the windows on nice days. How can I keep my cats from falling out? They are inside only cats.

Satori - your sense of wit is outstanding and I enjoy you so much! Not just for that, but other things as well. I don't believe you posted that "link" to make kittencup's adventure sound like an exercise in paranoia..but those new to to GS, who don't know you, might get that impression! The Organization is always and has always been on the prowl for information they can use to intimidate innies and outties whom they consider "dangerous". Some of it's higher order individuals are and have been out to "avenge themselves", or as normal folks see it - - look for revenge. I felt the need to present my thoughts because, although some of us can afford to laugh at their antics, The Organization still functions in the same ways. I don't believe it's possible for a leopard to change it's spots. While some were/are afflicted more than others, we should never forget what they did and why they did it.

Oh - but I thought that no detail was ever overlooked [tongue in cheek] - - after all, look at all the perfectly pointed toilet paper that greeted you in your most intimnate moments!

I had to do the same thing with BDE stuff...scared the pajamas off me to fiddle with the registry, but that was the only way to remove it all.

Where were the experts who certified these folks to be parents? IMHO they have some explaining to do also! That was "negligence" on their part.

I'm so sory Catcup that someone who held your secret betrayed you. In my experience, people who do that only want to look "special" - they get a kick out of looking like a person "in the know". But when the $$it hits the fan...they don't care what direction the fan is pointing in causing only more grief. How many trusts were betrayed? Why do some seem to have so little compassion for their brothers and sisters?

Right you are, my wonderful Propheta-dabobbada. They took themselves too seriously, and eventually many of them elevated themselves to the level of gods!

Could we book the auditorium for a GS reunion?

Zach has a creative teacher. What a way to teach geography!

yeah - riht - - - just like in Bhopal - in the old woman....."we're all gone now"! -
As far as I am concerned, you have consistently defended your thesis here on these boards, so I have no problem with you siesing the title. However, I feel obligated to point out that in some circles, a PhD is no more than Piled higher and Deeper!

What might you say to the Way if you could get them to listen
krys replied to year2027's topic in About The Way
I think I would tell them to believe for their own financial abundance....I wish to use my own monies for other things! -
Revisiting these thing now is making me sick to my stomach. Don't misunderstand - this is a very good thread, it just points out how very sick I must have been to swallow it for so long. It is good to be free.

What was the largest mistake we Way believers made in your view?
krys replied to year2027's topic in About The Way
I agree with George. In the early years of my involvement, we were frequently "invited" to search for ourselves and see if what they were teaching was correct. I speak for myself but I don't think I'm alone - in the beginning I did re-read and think about what was taught. Maybe I was just being trained....but at some point I quit being diligent in that detail. The results of that were that I gradually became lazy in this...and that allowed them to sneak stuff over on me, being so convinced that "they" were right. -
Maybe that should be Bored or Dumb"?
