  1. I believe this to be a completely false statement and anyone with more knowledge is certainly incouraged to correct me if my assumptions are wrong. To begin with what is an outside influence? Is it anything that disrupts the way things normally occur? Is a tree parasite for instance, an outside influence, or is it natures way of destoying a certain type of tree, in order to develop another? Or clear a forest for some other use? When nature makes a mistake it is corrected through selection. The only way a change in nature can get past selection is by adaptation. Those who can not adapt die. Therefore nature is always evolving into what is strongest, so there is no perfection, only change. There is no will or thought involved, only the strongest surviving. If man is only defined as the outside influence, he can and has elected to alter the course of nature, in some seemly good ways, and in some not so seemly good. In the case of this young boy, a good outcome, because society and his parents have intervened to allow him to live. If he were on his own his chances of survival would be slim. Man has also changed nature is some poor ways. To me there are always outside influences present. The only question is are they stronger than the norm. If the norm is stronger, things go on as usual. If the outside influences prevail there will be change. Again nothing is perfect only surviving.
  2. If this were a skit on Saturday Nite Live I would be laughing my foot off. Knowing where it came from makes me look back and wonder what the hell I was thinking putting up with so much for so long.
  3. Seen in personals ad: WANTED: A good woman who likes to fish and has a boat. Please send picture of boat.
  4. Welcome Argus! You can be thankful you missed the past 30 years of TWI. Your points about the 'closet homosexual' are well documented and LCM fits the mold quite well.
  5. This the same 'spotter who posted a week or so ago: "If I died this happy, well.. it would be enough.."?
  6. I think this is Mike showing his lighter side. Kind a funny isn't he? More light hearted posts to follow hopefully.
  7. Rhoda, Dorothy, Dotsie, and Naomi all had to have known what was going on with Vic and the ladies. Hell, Reuben, Ermal, and Harry may have been in on the action also.
  8. All are not equal when it comes to responses, which is neither good nor bad. It just is. Like any dynamic group people fit in differently, have roles, are preceived in certain ways, etc. Cindy! and Steve! were quite popular, posted in a way that people wanted to respond to, and I would consider "posting leaders". If they started a thread or responded to one, automatically others would join in. Their threads always led to a large number of other postings and there are a number of other people like that also. They are kind of 'the life of the party' so to speak, and are afforded more lattitude by us in their posts. We want to hear from them. Just like in school we gravitated to the popular kids. It made us feel good.
  9. Personally I appreciate a few extra pounds.....nothing worse than hugging or playing and get a handful of bones. I don't prefer huge boobs--more than a handful is a waste.
  10. In the military during nuclear fallout training they told us, all else being equal, men and woman in their reproductive years would be spared until the last. If it was necessary for someone to go out in the radiation it would be someone older. The reasoning? Raditation can make you sterile. If it came down to life and death, and the survival of the nation depended on it, the young, virale, and healthy would have to be given priority. The infirm, children, and sick would not be able to contribute. Immediate work would have to be done and the repopulation of the country would have to be a priority.
  11. Why, when out on the town and one woman goes to the restroom, do the rest get up and follow? What is so spell binding about soap operas and romance novels? Usually the leading man is very confident, takes charge, and sweeps the damsel off her feet. And they have lots of sex. But from my own limited experience and listening to other guys, find woman resent this type of man and have far less interest in sex. Does this imply you actually do want men to be in charge, to swept you off your feet, and became your knights in shining armour? And as a result your sexual desire would be stronger? Why is the mothering instinct so strong that some can not let go of it? They want to 'mother' their children for the rest of their lives it seems. They fuss over 40 year old kids and try to tell them how to run their affairs. My ex's mother was like this and it created so much tension and anamosity. The only way we could bear a visit with her was looking forward to her leaving. There were constant long distant phone calls checking up. Quite a rift developed.
  12. Excellent question. I have wondered on this point more than once while sitting where I ponder things.
  13. Sudo and satori there is another post currently floating around here at the 'spot that describes the both of you to a 'T', Mister T that is. You are just a couple of cyber bullies, nothing but playground toughs. Only waiting for the littlest weakness and then pounce on it. shame on you Father Cameron and Sister Angelina would have never stood for this treatment by you. You would both be writing Hail Mary's on the blackboard after school for one hour.
  14. So glad of the comfort you get from the GSers. It is hard to know what to say at this time. I wish for your soul to be soothed and uplifted.
  15. You might want to check with an attorney before you file your monumental lawsuit. I am sure he would give you some insight you are missing now.
  16. It would be nice to have the patience woman have when working with children. They don't show so much stress when being with a child all day long. Woman have the ability to comfort people better than men in times of pain and distress.
  17. For the longest time rejection from women bothered me to the point of dispare. Of course I also had a very low self esteem problem. When turned down for a date it would take weeks before I would ask someone else out. I felt like a complete loser. Many times I wished it was the woman who did the asking and the man who did the accepting. In many learning situations it would be nice to be a woman. If a woman doesn't catch on, trainers are much more patient with woman than men. Especially if the trainer is male, he will often times go out of way to help the "fairer sex". It would be nice to have someone stop when my car is not running or the tire is flat, and fix it for me. Sexually I would like to experience multiple orgasms in a relative short period of time. And to go over next weeks ball game schedule while having sex. Wonder how it feels, while getting a hair cut, to enjoy the conversation or pick up a magazine and read it?
  18. If they are truely not interested why should they be expected to listen more than the minute they gave you? I do that with telemarketers. If they are selling a product or service of no interest to me I interrupt and end the conversation. If it sounds like something I want or need I allow them to continue.
  19. The study compared only countries which are democracies: "............in the prosperous democracies." "............of the developing democracies." "............the US was the world’s only prosperous democracy......." "The non-religious, proevolution democracies contradict the dictum that a society cannot enjoy good conditions unless most citizens ardently believe in a moral creator." The conclusion of the study is: I don't think anyone can argue with the conclusion. Whether God had anything to do with it or not is up for argument.
  20. China Company Markets Clinton and Lewinsky Condoms.
  21. Perhaps 'threats' is to harsh a word; how about actions?
  22. Since Mrs Wierwille's children are/were no longer affiliated with TWI and hence do not live on grounds, what kinds of threats would have been appropriate, in your opinion, to "lean on the signator"?
  23. "In principle" all the land and buildings belong to the Way International. Oakspear summed it up pretty well: Either the four owner's of the property didn't understand the law about corporations, or did, and felt it was the best way to proceed. No matter which, none of the Wierwille children are entitled to anything. To think other wise is incorrect. The Way has insisted it was the Wierwille family who had Mrs Wierwille placed in the nursing home and at no cost to them. No one from the Wierwille family has disupted this claim. J.P. has leveled this and other charges against TWI, so he could counter them if he wanted to. Even though TWI has hurt many people, accusing them of not taking care of Mrs Wierwille is unfounded. And to say the Wierwille children have some right "in principle" to the ancestral homestead is simply not accurate. If it were, if you purchased a piece of property, the seller's children could come forward and claim the property as theirs "in principle".
