  1. Waxit These three verses just don’t go away and you just keep ignoring them. Are you a glutton for punishment? If you check prior postings, you will notice that you have convinced no one of your atgument concerning the Sabbath. For weeks you have been throwing out the same arguments and getting the same negative responses. “Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.” Have you heard that one before?
  2. I fall in the category of agnostic after reading this article. To me, there is certainly a Higher Power that has helped me through out my life. I used to attend Overeaters Anonymous meetings, and they have adapted Alcoholics Anonymous 12 steps for their program. Several of the steps require a belief in a Higher Power, who will assist you in overcoming your addiction. No more can I believe in a God, who created a Son, by impregnating a maiden on Earth. This birth caused all male babies under the age of one, to be executed. Or the Son rising from the dead, so mankind could be saved from all their wrong doings. It is difficult to understand what a couple did (eat an apple.) in the Garden of Eden centuries ago, was so terrible that it made me a sinner, in need of redemption. I wasn’t around at the time, don’t blame me. I have participated in Ouija board sessions. That plastic thingamajig, answered every question it was asked correctly, except once, and that answer was within the ballpark of possibilities. The spelling was always accurate. A group of us got together and performed levitations. Amazing what was done. These are considered in the realm of Satan. But, in all my years as a Christian did I witness anything supernaturally happening. Raising someone from the dead is always talked about, but only done in books or accounts from the bible. Never saw anyone recover from a disease after being prayed for by having hands laid on them. Anyway, the Ouija board and levitation convinced me there is a Higher Power, who is above my pay grade, that can help me with my daily life. I don’t pray for help, just focus my mind on my Higher Power helping get the job done.
  3. Thanks Rocky...just one of those days, Something didn’t look right, but couldn’t put me finger on it.
  4. How did Wierwille put it? “Troubling versus understood in light of the clear versus.” I think this is about the only defense Waxit has in his quiver to explain these three versus away. Of course, that assumes all the versus Waxit’s is using in his arguments are the clear ones. Then you have to ignore that Jesus came to fulfill the law. .
  5. “I’m going to turn you ins4ide out:” I can imagine what someone would look like. means the same as clean your Clock. Jim Croce’s “Meaner Than a Junk Yard Dog.” Never heard that expression before this song. The visuals are getting torn limb from limb from a huge Doberman Pincher. ’ Looked Like A Jigsaw Puzzle With A Couple of Pieces Gone.” What a bloody mess he must have been.
  6. Waxit Do you have any plans to address: Romans 14: 5-6; Galatians 4: 9-10, Colossians 2:16? I didn’t quote the three versus because they have been brought to your attention numerous times by several other posters.
  7. These verses have been put to you by a number of posters. Yet you refuse to address them....they are an elephant in the room you have chosen to ignore. According to Galatians 4:9-10, you have returned to the bondage you claim to want to get others out of. It appears you are engulfed in Bondage again. 2 Peter 2:22 is where you are in your life according to the Word of God: 2 Peter 2:22, "But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." You may not realize it, but you are not biblically in a place most Christians want to reside in.

  9. Nice Four grain loaf. 1. Whole Wheat 2. Dark Rye, 3. Spelt, 4. White. This recipe, from http://Breadtopia.com/ is a three day process. Day 1: Mix whole wheat flour and starter for 12 hours. Day 2: Blend in the Dark Rye, Spelt, and White flour from Day 1. Let rise in refrigerator for 24 hours. Day 3: Knead and let rise 4 - 6 hours. Bake 475 degrees for 45 minutes. Some recipes call for mixing all the flour and water, and let set 30 - 60 minutes, to allow all the flour to completely absorb the water.. This process is called autolyse. https://bakerpedia.com/processes/autolyse/
  10. I have a close relative who seems to hold it as a badge honor that she has never attempted any type of modern communication. Not even a cell phone. She was given a cell phone by her daughter to use in case of an emergency. I asked what the cell number was and was told, with a smile on her face, “I threw it in the bottom of my purse and have no plans to ever use it.” She could connect with her children and grandkids, but refuses to do so. Go figure.
  11. Being separated physically by many miles from our families presents it’s challenges. On our minds quite often is how they are doing, what’s the latest movie they watched, how is life with the new boy friend, did they gat the package you sent? Endless little things that make our hearts grow fonder each day. When I was in the Navy in Viet Nam, without a doubt, mail call was the high light of our day. We could not wait for a letter from home or a package containing cookies or candy. A picture of our family or buddies was the absolute greatest thing. Finding out the grandparents were doing just fine was vety comforting. I wasn’t married or had a girlfriend, but my shipmates who were, longed to know about their children’s school grades and who their latest friend was. I witnessed grown men completely break down when they got a “Dear John” letter. One even jumped ship and swam ashore to the Viet Cong. My daughter and her family recently moved away from home. A promotion sent them a 1,000 miles away. Adjustment at first was quite difficult, but gradually it became easier to accept. Enter modern technology. The separation has been so much easier to accept because of IM, Facetime, and the multitude of other communication devices. My daughters family just got a new puppy, and seeing the happiness in my granddaughters faces is immeasurable. Watching them chasing the pooch or him running them down is so much fun. Viewing them live as they open their birthday gifts is so neat. Just watching them for 15 minutes drawing their latest cartoon character, or seeing them staying within the lines coloring a teddy bear. Seeing my wife’s face light up as she so intently observes their every movement, is priceless. Yes, modern technology has allowed our family to stay up to date with each other. Is it as good as physically being together? No. But, it is certainly better than waiting weeks for a letter to arrive.
  12. That is a nice looking bun...no pun intended. I'll give your advise a try and see how it works. It is fun playing with the starter. Rocky was asking about whole grain so I have been looking into making a whole grain starter also. I found a recipe that uses multiple types of whole grain flour, so think it may be on the next list to attempt. On thing about sourdough, it keeps you on your toes.
  13. Waxit: You point out you have had to explain the same verse several times and want to not dwell on it again. Fair Enough. In the same vain, why do you ignore responding numerous times to the following verses? Colossians 2:16: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Romans 14:5-6: One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. Galatians 4:9-10: But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 0 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. On the surface It would appear honoring and keeping the Sabbath is not only not required, but will force you back into bondage. Clearly, we do not to be in bondage. Stayed Too Long
  14. Most of the Christian world does not observe the Sabbath on Saturday. Why not get your message out to the rest of them, instead of butting heads with a few at GSC who you know have rejected your logic? Visit the local Catholic Church to see if you can get the priest to close their doors on Sunday, and have mass exclusively on Saturday. If he won’t, keep going back week after week, showing him the Word, and start throwing insults st him. Next hit the LDS church down the street. Pull all the missionaries aside and see if they will tell Salt Lake City to finally worship when God wants them too. Don’t forget the Baptists. Do you think they will let you thump on their pulpit demanding the observance of the Sabbath on Saturday? I doubt if you will have much success, and will soon be back at GSC trying to wrangle your dogma down our throats again.
  15. Never use Oly or Schlitz. Uggggg
  16. The problem I have had is the sourdough bread not rising. It tastes delicious, but is so compacted the loaf is about half the height of a regular slice. This doesn’t make for good sandwiches. I will use the baking soda and powder the next time and see how it goes. i saw a recipe for beer bread-haven’t tried it- but the only ingredients were beer, flour, and sugar. Just looking at the picture of the loaf, it appeared to rise to normal height. The top of the loaf was not smooth, but quite lumpy looking. The recipe did not call for self rising flour, but that may have been what was used.
  17. The bubbly substance is the sourdough starter needed as the base to all sourdough products. It sits dormant in the back of the refrigerator until it is needed to make a batch of cookies, loaf of bread, or a stack breakfast pancakes. When the starter is taken out of the refrigerator, some flour and water or milk is added, and it magically begins to bubble like a boiling pot. This is activating the yeasts to make the bread rise, that way you don’t have to add commercial yeast. The starter is what gives sourdough its unique taste. As the sourdough starter sits in back of the refrigerator undisturbed, a watery substance will form on top of the starter. This is alcohol and called hooch. I simply stir it back in; others poor it off. Supposedly stirring it back in gives it a more sour taste. A starter is easily made with lots of recipes on the internet to get you going. After you asked about whole grain bread, I started researching it on line. There are plenty of recipes out there so you can keep away from white bread. If you sitting at home with nothing to do because of the caronavirus, you might get some starter going.
  18. WW your wife uses baking powder and baking soda to get the bread to rise, which makes sense to me. What does Mrs WW think about using seltzer water instead of regular water? The carbonation action should get the bread to rise, I would think.
  19. I have never attempted whole grain, but apparently you can. Here is a website with a recipe you can look at. Are you a fan of the bubble substance? https://breadtopia.com/whole-grain-sourdough/
  20. Adding baking soda and baking powder to the pancakes does make them rise, and the sourdough flavor is maintained. Should have thought of adding to the bread receipt. Tell Mrs. Wolf thank you.
  21. I made a sourdough starter a number of years ago and have enjoyed the pancakes it makes. They have a distinct flavor and texture not in any other pancakes I’ve eaten. Keeping the starter going is not much trouble at all. However, when making bread it is a different beast entirely. Apparently the starter has to be at it’s optimal rising. I have tried many ways to determine that state without much Success. The bread always turns out very flavorful, but it is hard and extremely compacted. Somehow it needs to rise better....I have added yeast to get the rise, but the yeast also diminishes the wonderful sourdough taste. Any suggestions on how to get this rise?
  22. Waxit “It’s like people on gsc gang up on me. I am not saying everyone is like this but most except for one other person I know and have stayed with and respect.” As Wierwille used to say; “If you have the right key you can open the door.” Obviously, you do not possess the right key. GSC was set up with the idea of assisting battered, injured people who had finally escaped the clutches of TWI. Wierwille used the Corp women to commit adultery with him. His successor, Martindale, followed in his footsteps. When I say “they used the Corp women” it is more in the context of these “Men Of God,” demanded sexual submission. After all, these women should serve God’s man, and this certainly included sexually. Go back and read some of the accounts of these abused women…I doubt if some will ever fully recover. Other people were so full of condemnation when they left, or were marked and avoid, for disagreeing with the BOD. It was hammered into their heads they would be a grease spot by midnight if they turned their backs on God’s ministry. Another favorite attack was they will lose all their rewards if they turn their backs on the Man of God. These people, (me included), wondered around, often not sure If they would see the next day. Their anxiety level so high, it took all the strength they could muster, to rise out of bed each morning. If it wasn’t for a job to go to, they might never get out of bed, just hoping for the night to come. I digress because these folks needed an oasis to make sense out of what was constantly swarming around in their heads. Each needed to know they were not the problem! Enter GSC. It was not part of GSC’s mission to say we know Wierwille hurt and used you, but he did rightly divide God’s word, so let’s forgive him, and focus on the Word he so lovingly taught us. No! this remnant of TWI is to expose how corrupt and dishonest Wierwille and the leaders were; not to forgive the rats. Newbies don’t come here looking for the rightly divided word, but for needed support, love, and understanding so they can get on with their lives. If you are looking for the remnant that places importance on rightly dividing the word, you might check out John Lynn, Gerald Wrenn, Vince Finnigan, or the host of others on-line. See if these men want to rightly divide the word with you. Coming here and professing you have the rightly divided word. And then proclaim the doctrine, reproof, and correction all must follow to live a righteous life, is not the way to get the key to open the door, you seem to want to open. Look and see how others communicate in this forum. It is more of a friendly discussion than confrontation. Someone throws out an idea and others express their opinion. There is back and forth, give and take, but nothing like the thread you have started. People are not looking to end their daily discussion with, “thus sayeth the lord.” The key you are looking for, to not getting ganged up on in this forum, is to express your belief’s, and when someone disagrees, accept that their opinion is different than yours. STOP! Good luck! Stayed Too Long
