Keep in mind, though, that the above paraphrase was from five years ago. People and organizations drift from original charters if they don't visually refresh their memory and commitment. From my observations and studies, I'd say the norm is that most drift, so my above post may no longer apply to CFF today as much as it did 5 years ago.

I have more like them.
-
Five years ago I had almost ten extended phone conversations and e-mails with one "high official" in CFF who told me the following (paraphrasing): """We believe Dr. Wierwille was a genuine prophet of the True God, but the sin in his life and it's complications in the CFF congregation (and even in my own blood family) have prompted us to separate ourselves from the man’s name and his tapes and books as much as possible, and we are in the process of re-writing his books.""" The triple quotes are used to emphasize that I was paraphrasing. I have heard (or perceived) much the same from other CFF officials in tha same past five years, but not as detailed nor as openly honest as the one cited above. Much the same is to be heard from other splinter groups. I guess they figure God goofed in whom He selected to teach His Word like it had not been known since the first century if he would teach it to others. But LUCKY FOR US the splinter clergy will rescue us from the situation and re-echo Dr’s teachings to the next generation. Only problem is: NONE of those splinter clergy have faithfully mastered the material like they need to in order to “rescue” God from His “goof.” For the humor impaired, that previous paragraph was laced with sarcasm.

T-Bone, We were discussing the words of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels and Acts. You seemed to be interested in that.
-
T-Bone, Some of the conversations we were having on this thread a few weeks ago reflect just the opposite of your thesis that "vp was essential." For me back then, and for any diligent student of Dr's, relying on him and "his word for it" was anathema. To augment those conversations I mentioned last week that there is more to discuss on the topic of our relationship with Christ. Want to continue? We may need a review first, though.

Perhaps not. :)

Again, I don't know. And again, God's use of that word is much more important than common usage. There are some PFAL subjects that I am still studying and feel unqualified to speak up about here. This is one of them. What the Hey's recent post on "all" went into a file I keep on this subject, but there is more work I need to do in cross referencing everything with what is in the printed forms of PFAL.

Ron G, You forgot the details which are supposed to be associated with that phrase "not been known since the first century." Most of the ELEMENTS of Dr's teaching to us were floating around in various forms long before 1942, but they were not "together." Before 1942 a man might have one or two of these great elements of the truth in his teachings, but that same man's ministry would also be crippled with a fatal error, such as the trinity or the dead being alive prematurely. Another man might have One God and the dead being asleep in his teachings, but THAT man's ministry would also be crippled with other fatal errors, like SIT dying with the apostles. What we were truly blessed with in Dr's ministry was that, under God's direction, he "put it all together" and THAT was something that had not been done before. NOW do you remember?

I don't know.

When GOD uses the word "all" then I think your point is totally valid. But when PEOPLE use the word "all" it might be good to first check if they use it the same way God does. Usually they don't.

When we see the details of how God forgives within His family from I Corinthians 3 we can start to imitate Him. It's a matter of having confidence that God will even the score.
-
Well, let's try and do it different, here. I've found that third chapter in Corinthians to be very helpful to people (and myself) over the years. It seems it's not well known, so this thread can reach them and the Word in it can care for them. Knowing how God deals with punishment and reward within His family is what that chapter teaches us. It's pretty well spread out in this thread, but there's a ton of Corinthians here for those who want to sort through the past 30 pages.
-
Hmmm. hard chair versus soft reminds me of cold versus warm reminds me of cold blue verses ... and warm red verses which Post # did that Corinthian passage occur on?
-
Did anyone paste all three accounts (narrative, flashback1, flashback2) together into one document?

Why do I feel like a substitute teacher on Welcome Back Kotter?

In further review, class, we outlined the red letter quotes of Jesus that appear in Acts during the three times the Road to Damascus incident is related. How many people knew the Road to Damascus incident was in there three times? Can I see a show of hands?
-
I know ONE of the things we discussed was having a relationship with Jesus Christ, one with power, like the ability to dismiss ego and forgive wherever it would be helpful.
-
As you prefer.

I see you rushed in for a front row seat. Who do you think I am, GALLAGER or something? *** So I can't get there from here?
-
Maybe I can cheer you up with more Jesus stories? ******* Don't we ALL?
-
No, I meant MY agenda. ;)
-
So... where WAS I ?

GO GIRL GO! It looks like you may have nipped a lie in the making. It reminds me of how the racism lie was shot down here by HCW before it got past one page... only you were faster. *** My remembrance was that a tape of Dr reading Psalm 103 was played a lot for Howard.
-
*** rascal, You groaned unnecessarily: "Who in the hell are YOU mike to decide that our personal experiences...are FISH stories?? That we have embellished after 25 years?" Careful. Try reading that again. I know from the nature of people that some facts were presented accurately here. I know the nature of people that SOME lies and distortions have slipped in there ALSO. But I see it as unhealthy to try and sort out the two, ESPECIALLY when there's light to be focused on.

Hey, I like that! Actually the STARS were Word 1.0 Moses brought in Word 2.0 with writing. And now we took part in Word 3.0 Poor Microsoft, though. They don't stand a chance.
