That's obvious. What I mean is "What happens when the Real Deal comes along?" John's suggestions will reject an actual Divine connection along with the garbage. His suggestions deny the possibility of God intervening in the affairs of men.

John, Let's apply your suggestions to one Jesus Christ, as recorded in the 4 Gospels. How do you think he'd do? Pass or fail? Cult leader or divinely inspired leader? Human Cult or Intervention by God? And while we're at it, how would Paul do with his organization as documented in Acts and the Epistles?

I would see SOME fellow grads acting this way all through the 70's and 80's and it gave me the creeps! I just couldn't see Jesus Christ acting that way at all. He embraced the lepers!

How about this? Inability to mix with, and/or relate to, and/or respect, and/or appreciate anyone of a differing opinion or mindset.

Born again? I posted on this long ago, but it was too unsettling for anyone to comment much on. I’ll put it out again, but I don’t have the time right now to get involved in any extensive discussion or debate. I will, however, do my best to respond to PMs of anyone with burning a desire to see deeper into this. The key is VIEWPOINTS. Are we going to look at man’s viewpoint or God’s viewpoint? Man’s senses perspective is limited and temporary, but God’s spiritual perspective is unlimited and eternal. We were taught some things on viewpoints. Applying this notion of viewpoints to “born again” is something hardly anyone has ever thought to do. Let’s try. From my human viewpoint, I was born in 1949 as a body and soul being, and quite a few years later (decades I think) I received the gift of pneuma hagion, and then had all three: body, soul, spirit. From my point of view this was a new life that started for me, and I reckoned it as being born AGAIN. But what was God’s viewpoint? In 1949 a body and soul being came into existence, something NOT what God originally had in mind as a human being when He made, formed, and created Adam. Then some years later, that being received spirit and THAT was the birth of one of God’s creatures, from HIS perspective. That was the FIRST birth from His spiritual viewpoint. To be born AGAIN, from God’s viewpoint, is something that needs more research. Galatians 4:19 describes Paul’s working this in one city with unsuccessful results. This is the frontier of spiritual knowledge. Research continues.

Oddly enough, I experience much the same thing... only I clean the windows. I was called (on the telephone) to clean the windows at a local Catholic Church. It’s huge, and has a school on the same grounds. I was raised as a child attending two such RC church/school complexes from grades 1 through 8. The campus is beautiful and peaceful, and all the people are wonderfully serene and together. The pastor even has an Irish brogue, and it’s all just like being in a Bing Crosby movie. The nostalgia is massive as I witness many scenes reminiscent of my upbringing. I always remove my hat out of respect when I’m inside the sanctuary, but I haven’t gone so far as to genuflect as I pass the center aisle. It’s downright amusing how intensely aware I am of this one (IMO minor) breach of protocol. Such old memories and feelings don’t fade so easily at all. Every time I’m there it’s like a trip back in time to the 1950’s. I love it.

Focusing on the negatives, both actual and imagined, prevents remembering and seeing the many positives. This is the essence of free will: it's what we choose to DWELL ON, and to DWELL IN. By continuing to focus on, repeat, magnify, and even exaggerate the negatives, then the opportunity to see the many positives is lost forever. Those who choose to live in the negatives long enough cannot even imagine the existence of the positives. This is a more horrible self-imposed limitation than anything that ever happened in twi.

I agree Keswas. The focus here is on the negative. There were many positive people and many positive ideas GALORE!

Dr. Wierwille had two minor strokes that I am aware of, and then quickly and fully recovered from the symptoms each time. The brain is remarkably resilient organ for those who are in the lifelong habit of using it to it's fullest. I know the date of one stroke was the late fall of 1982, when I was a WOW. I remember discussing the issue with my WOW brother, Tracy K. We could hear Dr sometimes stretching out the consonant "s" on SNS tapes at that time, and it was obvious he was hurting in some way. The actual symptom was pretty subtle, though. Of all his tapes that were released, and that are known today, this is the only stroke evidence that was manifested. He recorded a teaching on July, 25, 1983 and titled it "No Condemnation" in which he addressed the issue of Advanced Class grads and students of large amounts of Biblical teaching getting hit physically hard, to the point of requiring hospitalization. This teaching has given me much relief when I found myself needing medical services and such. It's also helped me to not condemn (think down about) others who are in need of medical care. That teaching was released as the Tape of the Month for July 1983.

For the years 1982-83 I was a WOW in Cranston RI with Tracy K***zer, Ginger E***ette, and Carol N**ker. We lived across the street from the High School and the Town Hall. I drove a delivery truck for the local Sir Speedy print shop owned by Steve P****sano (who later took the class), and got Limb permission to cross over the town's geographical boundaries into nearby towns, which was a big "no-no" that WOW year. Hayward and Nancy Ch***lle were the Limb Coordinators then, and also lived in Cranston. I'd love to find my old WOW family. Tracy, who was last seen in South Carolina, lived in San Diego prior to 1982, and before that in the St. Louis, MO area or across the river in Illinois, like Bellville. Ginger was also from Missouri, Columbia area, and worked during the 90's for some Missouri college's admissions department, near Columbia. Carol was in the Corps, on her interim year 82-83, so I think that places her in the 12th Corps.

Look at the dates. I looked into all this two years ago, and can report that these items are basically obsolete.

Oops. I'm so mad I double posted! Calming down...... I think I'll run for the hills now, just to "avoid the near occasion of sin" and not get involved any more. Like I said, I'm done with my message posting here, but I do like to hang around to see what's happening and to keep up with people socially. Please don't bother trying to engage me in debate or discussion. I've said all that I could say that's of substance. Five years and five thousand posts is ENOUGH!

I'm not running anywhere. Where do you get false information like that? Oldiesman only posts during the work week, not on weekends. How much OTHER false information have you gorged on? I'm done posting my message here, and debating, but I'm not running anywhere. Anyone can PM and/or e-mail me anytime they want if they want help from the bitterness that abounds. I am simply done debating with people who feast on falsehoods. I could take ANY of you on typing with one hand and I have done so for 5,000 posts and 5 years. If I were to take off the boxing gloves (which I won't) there'd be a lot of ants scurrying about. I don't have the time, though, and this board was not set up to support my message.
