Hi ChattyKathy !! Hey I don't blame you for not enjoying running, when I was in rez, I too remember running on the streets, even though running was my first love I couldn't stand it, when I run now it always has to be on some untamed trail, with lots of hills and obstacles, I try to avoid the roads at all costs, so I hear ya when you say you don't like it, besides it's alot better workout, running in the bush!! Anyways that's just my 2 cents !! Sushi, I have to say even before I clicked on the song I just knew it was going to be "Running on Empty" that's the only song I can think of that has the word "running" in it" so thankyou !!

Hey there ALAcabala!!! Just got in from running a 6-miler and even though the weather was yucky, I must say it was X-country at it's finest !!! I went for the bush and even some of the man-made bridges were totally immersed in water cause of all the melting, I had to find altenative trails which had piles and piles of mud, I was slipping and sliding all over the place, feet and bottom part of legs were totally soaked and covered in mud but in all reality I love running in that kind of enviroment, I even got to experience a runner's high where I could of just gone on for miles and miles!!! So in spite of the yucky weather, it was totally awesome!!!! Hey maybe one day you can find me a running song if there ever is such a thing!! Cheers!!!!

My user name "Cowgirl".................... I think of someone who is a little wild and adventurous, kinda describes me, even my hair is kind of wild, curls all over the place. I love everthing about the country, the openess, everything just growing naturally, untamed, it really apeals to my senses and I have this thing for cowboy boots, it's either that or barefeet. My avatar........ depicts a country girl out in a garden gathering wildflowers, things that I love to do, I'm a country girl at heart, I love nature, simplicity, everything natural even the way I dress is pretty much down to earth, faded blue jeans, lace and simple floral dresses. I love sunsets at night, the first snowfall of the year, runs in the woods, the sound of crickets in the summer, fireflies at night, candlelit bubblebaths, being in love with Goey (just had to put that in there) I guess you could call me a hopeless romantic. So when it came to choosing a picture I would have to say that it captures quite a bit of my personality.

Just want to say thanks for all the great ideas !! I'm going to stick with doing it all freehand, (as I have done with all my projects in the past) I know it will take longer and that's ok, there is no time limit to get it done, I know in the end for me with all my art projects, I'd like to be honestly able to say, "Yes this is all my work, right from the start." (Maybe it's a little pride thing, I don't know) :)
-
RON, you're too funny !!! Mstar1, Aha!!! Someone must have been reading my mind !! I've never heard of that (Trammel Points) what a great idea, I'll definitely check into that. Thanks ! Got a question about the overhead projectors, I love the idea, but in my thinking, I don't think I could sign my name to that particular work, reason being, wouldn't that be just like tracing over someone's original drawing, just like using tracing paper only on a much smaller scale? Actually what I could do if I ever got to using one of those overhead projectors look at the other person's drawing, draw my own just like the original and use my own drawing on the projector and enlarge my own on the wall, then it would still be my own work. (Sorry, I'm just thinking outloud) :) I'm back again, in all honesty I prefer to do it all freehand, that's just me !!!

Well you guys, the holidays are OVER, it's time to get back to some serious business here !!! Can you name the show that this was the theme song for??? Click Here

Hi Markomalley !! To answer your question, the person who I am doing this for got the pictures off some websites by googling in "space" and "planets." I'll being making my own templates to get the spheres just perfectly round (too bad someone didn't design a gigantic compass it sure would make it easier, heck if I can get my hands on a giant hula hoop, I could use that as a template and cut sections out it to get different sizes) all the rest I'll be doing freehand.

Just wanted to know if any of you GSer's have heard or read the book "Natural Cures They don't Want You to Know About" by Kevin Trudeau ? I've only heard bits and pieces about it through friends and on different websites. Any takers?

Ala, the group is "UHF" Ulrich, Henderson and Forbes. Shari Ulrich is the female in the band and she has her own web site if you want to check her out also. Try typing in uhf or Roy Forbes.

ALA, I posted something on the "Mandolin, banjo etc." thread in the open forum, I think you'll like it!!

Wasn't sure where to post these two songs either in the "Music--who've you seen/heard lately" thread or this one. I would call this "folk music" I heard this group years ago and I still have one of their cassettes. I must say they absolutely blew my mind!! They're Canadians from the west coast lots of mandolin, dulicmer and guitar. The 1st song will really tug at your heart, the music in it is beautiful !! the 2nd is also wonderful. Ala, if I remeber correctly I had told you about this group but couldn't get their music to you so here they are!! CLICK HERE CLICK HERE The 2nd one takes a few seconds to load but it's well worth listening to.

Doojable, just to let you know in case you do get to see those pictures I posted, they are not the actual mural, those are pictures of what it will look like when it's completed. The person whom I am doing this for got them off of some website.

Oh Belle, what I would give to have a problem with an air conditioner! LOL :D Right now, the filter I have to change is for a furnace (you probably don't have those down there, eh?) Sometime I have to go down and hit the furnace a few times to get it up and running because I don't want to fork out the money to get the furnace guy in to fix the starter switch (I think that's what it's called) BRRRRRRRRRR !!!

Doojable and Ron, I must say I really like your work !! Absolutely lovely !! I too, really enjoy dabbling in the arts, one I'm working on right now as a small home business which is papier mache animal sculptures. I also do watercolour paintings and wall murals. I never had the priviledge of taking art courses or going to an art school, (heck I don't even know the terminology when it comes to art, just like Belle I had to look up the word "masonite") It was something I discovered along the way when I was looking at some books with drawings of political cartoons in them, I decided to try my hand at it and lo and behold I came across a talent I never knew I had. In regards to the wall murals here is one I am working on for someone, these are just pictures of what it is going to look like when completed. I really enjoy working with papier mache, first you have to build the sculpture (one I did was a dog that measured about 2ft high by about 3ft high and weighed about 15 to 20 lbs) then fill in it's shape so it's solid and then the fun part getting your hands all covered up to your elbows in the paste apply strip after strip of paper till you have about 5 layers, then the drying time which takes aleast 3-5 days and then the sanding and then the best part, making these animals come alive, the painting!!! When I first started I didn't have a vehicle so I would walk about a mile pulling these whimsical animals in my kid's wagon to the local artstore/gallery but they weren't getting enough publicity so once I got a vehicle I took a trip to the city and now have them in an art gallery that is selling them for me. I'm sorry to say I don't have an pictures of them right now as I still haven't taken the time to get my film developed. I finished completing a life size wallmural of "Spiderman" not that along ago in my boy's bedroom, I even gave him glowing eyes which my boys get a kick out of at nite time when they go to bed. So here are some pictures of the wall mural (the wall measures 8ft by 14ft) so it will be a pretty fair size when completed.

Hi ya'll !!! It sounds like you all had a great Christmas !! My humongous present is happening in February, I'm heading to Texas to see my fiance (Goey) for a whole 10 days !!!! So to start the new year off right (I know, I know, we're not quite there yet but I'm going to go ahead and post it anyways even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the new year) so there!! :P Let me warn you though, it's COUNTRY, I don't know If I would put it in the nostalgia category, but it was done I think in the early 90's. It is one of my all time favourites, I love everything about it, the words, the picture it paints, the music............it makes me think of the spring and summer days we have to look forward to in this new year, so enjoy to your heart's content!!
