Karmicdebt is up. I LOVE On Golden Pond. Great, great flick, lots of terrific but oddly unknown quotes.

I don't think satori's post was bad form. I think Jennings would have wanted it. Maybe I'm naive, I don't know.

"A canoe! Just like the Indians used." "Actually, the Indians used a different grade of aluminum."

Incorrect. "I didn't think we were mad. I just thought we didn't like each other."

He could be biased at times, as we can all be. I'm sure I am. He's the one who accused Americans of throwing a temper tantrum in electing a Republican Congress in 1994. But there's more to him than that, and I really liked his lengthy reports on religion and other issues that ABC was smart enough to air. Biased? Sure. An outstanding journalist whose contribution was more good than bad? I think so.

I can't tell you how shocked and saddened I am.

Ok, looks like it's got a name. Florida appears to be in the clear, for what it's worth. No clue where it's headed, but I hope this is one of those storms that just stays way out in the Atlantic and never bugs anyone.

A long, long time ago and it was far away but it was so much better than a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold and she's buying anything you want at Alice's (duh duh duh duh DAH duh duh duh du-de-duh) restaurant!!!

A sense of humor and a thick skin, but Bluzeman's post is something to keep in mind nonetheless. For the record, I've long disrespected this thread, quite openly, but meant no disrespect for Roy. I've told him before that really, really, really long posts are hard to digest, but he already knows that, so I'm not gonna nag him about it. If he wants to post American Pie By The Dashboard Light on the Stairway to Alice's Inagaddadavita Restaurant, then more power to him. :)-->

Dave, Steve! hit 5,000 yesterday or the day before (see the Triple Movie links thread): Steve!'s 5000th post:

Irene was six years ago. The names repeat every six years unless the storms hit land and are particularly destructive. There will never be another storm named Andrew, for example. And this year the "F" storm was Franklin because six years ago it was Floyd, which did some serious damage. I figured "The Cone of..." was a nice, consistent way of posting hurricane/storm threads. And I've been very good about biting my tongue when I see the word "alien." :)--> Who or what is Beldar?

This one doesn't have a name yet, but if it does get a name, it will be Irene. The last storm with that name struck South Florida on Oct. 15, 1999, less than two weeks after my arrival in this area. It was a Friday. I started my job the following Monday. Here's to history NOT repeating itself.

Hey, seriously, good thing to get priorities straight. Best of everything to you both, and you KNOW I'll be staying in touch. Raf
