  1. Hans Christian Andersen starred Danny Kaye.
  2. Woops. Missed the earlier post.
  3. Captain Horatio Hornblower ???
  4. Hmm... we've been here before. The answer then is the answer now...
  5. Oh dear. It's been requested again...
  6. LETTERS?!?!?!?!?! Dear Ms. Thang, I like the, heh heh, assets you bring to the ministry and would like to examine them more closely. Please meet me in my motorcoach at midnight, and don't tell your husband, boyfriend or father. Yours Falsely, MOG. Umm, no. The real life testimony of real life women is more tangible proof to me than some smoking gun letter that no one in his right mind would write. So VPW was never sued. So what? Neither was Marting Luther King Jr, and he adultered left and right. It simply happened.
  7. If I tell you that another poster told me she was molested by VPW, that's hearsay. If the other poster tells you directly, that is not hearsay. That is direct testimony. There is plenty of both in regards to what VPW has been accused of.
  8. If I have the correct movie, it is not old at all. In fact, the official release date is last year, but I recall seeing reviews only this year.
  9. I cheated too. It was definitely in theaters.
  10. Finally! THE is dead! More than a month since the last post! Die, THE, Die!!! Whaddya mean I resurrected it? Dang!
  11. Planet of the Apes Monkeys. A whole lotta monkeys.
  12. The Toy Scott Schwartz A Christmas Story
  13. I loved the last few moments of POTC2, precisely because of the "what the ?!?!?!" factor. worth the price of admission
  14. Tom must be right. Caine Moo Tina
  15. Alex Winter The Lost Boys Corey Haim
  16. Perfect. The only rule to the game is, don't go linking back to the same movie, series, or person. For example, the last one has Carrie Fisher and The Blues Brothers. If I were to say "Frank Oz - Empire Strikes Back - Carrie Fisher," that would be bad, because we just used Carrie Fisher as a link. However: Frank Oz The Empire Strikes Back Mark Hamill is okay because Empire and Star Wars are two different movies, Frank Oz was not in both, and Mark Hamill is a different star. Don't use a sequel unless you get there from an actor who wasn't in the first referenced movie (Frank Oz was in the Blues Brothers, but he wasn't in Star Wars, so it's okay to use him for The Empire Strikes Back to get to someone other than Harrison Ford or Carrie Fisher). Now, I used the above as an example. My actual next link is as follows: Frank Oz The Great Muppet Caper Charles Grodin (naming someone whose voice alone was used is also okay, so long as the actor is playing a role in the movie. Frank Oz in the Muppet movies is okay, but Phil Collins in Tarzan is not). Use your best judgment on when it's been long enough to not worry about repeating actors or movies.
  17. I suppose there's no reason the story had to have a supernatural element. But it does, so there. Non-supernatural pirate movies have been done, and done well. And they've been done badly. I suppose the producers wanted to do something a bit different, so they went for it. When you think about it, the Indiana Jones movies all had big time supernatural elements, and it didn't hurt them much (although in the first two, they provided deus ex machina solutions to the predicaments. The third one integrated the supernatural plot much more elegantly than the first two.
  18. QuietThinker, I don't think you've quite got the hang of the game (or you linked from an out of date post). The next step is to name a movie Albert Brooks has been in, another star of that movie, and another movie that star has been in. Like so: Broadcast News Holly Hunter Copycat Now, Copycat is the last link. Find another star of Copycat, another movie that star was in, and another star from that movie.
  19. Yup. About time that movie made this thread. Your move.
  20. Correct. Apocalypse Now New quote: "Mom, I can't talk right now, I'm having sex with a white woman." === "Look around! You couldn't find a whiter, safer or better lit part of this city. But this white woman sees two black guys, who look like UCLA students, strolling down the sidewalk and her reaction is blind fear. I mean, look at us! Are we dressed like gangbangers? Do we look threatening? No. Fact, if anybody should be scared, it's us: the only two black faces surrounded by a sea of over-caffeinated white people, patrolled by the triggerhappy LAPD. So, why aren't we scared?" "Because we have guns?" "You could be right."
  21. Thank you, Topsy! The Dead Zone was recently made into a USA Network TV series starring Anthony Michael Hall. But the Christopher Walken movie is just fantastic. It's under "horror" in the video store, but should be under "thrillers."
  22. Wow. ANYone? "Put your hand on the scanning screen, and you'll go down in history with me!" "As what? The world's greatest mass murderers?" "You cowardly b*st*rd! You're not the voice of the people, I am the voice of the people! The people speak through me, not you! === "The ice is going to break! === "Your house is burning! There's still time!" === These are the quote I would have posted if I had wanted to stump you. The earlier quotes were absolute giveaways. That is, if you're at all familiar with the plot of the movie.
  23. How many movies are there about a guy getting hit by a truck and slipping into a coma for five years, with another scene featuring a guy happy that missiles are flying? Early 80s flick. The subject and characters have seen a relatively recent resurgence.
