I do not know Lamsa's motives. I do know there is an Aramaic word lama and it means why. Incidentally, this is the same conclusion Walter Cummins came to, which is why TWI's very own Aramaic interlinear translation of this verse is different from Lamsa's. Am I to assume that Walter Cummins was trying to pull the wool over our eyes? Or that he's a liar? If the translation should be "for this purpose I was spared," then why, of ALL organizations, did TWI itself discredit it in a research book? It was in TWI's interest to let Lamsa's translation stand. They could look like they were right all along. But when they looked at the evidence, they realized Wierwille's view, Lamsa's view, was wrong. They could have looked the other way and perpetuated what they'd been teaching all along, but they didn't. Will you?

I have no idea what that second pic is, but my wild guess is The Twilight Zone.

Yes, you can do that, but for those of us who don't click on every link, can we get the title and artist, just for the record?

He correctly described the episode, but it wasn't silicon (which was a whole different episode about the Crystalline Entity), it was the Sheliac, a race that made the Vogons look like rule-breaking loose cannons. They were sticklers for the law, and the treaty they had was something like a half-million pages. Picard begged them for extra time, and they would not relent, so he invoked that paragraph in the treaty, giving him 6 months rather than 3 weeks. When they protested, he cut them off. I think it was Worf who replied, "Captain, the Sheliac are hailing us. Picard responded by liesurely walking along the bridge, checking the railing for dust, and then patiently saying "on screen." The Sheliac agreed to give him his three weeks. Picard thanked them and they signed off. That's when Riker said, "You enjoyed that." And Picard replied, "You're damn right." The Episode was called The Ensigns of Command. A masterpiece, if you haven't seen it.

"I formally request third party arbitration.... I name the Grizellas to arbitrate. Unfortunately they are currently in their hibernation cycle. However they will awaken in six months, at which time we'll get this matter settled. Now do you want to wait... or give me my three weeks."

The three teams would need to have some kind of playoff, I'd imagine. I'd do double-elimination, figuring you'd have to lose twice to be ruled out (that way you face both teams). Game 1: Tigers v. Twins. Game 2: White Sox v. Winner of Game 1. Game 3: Loser of Game 1 v. Loser of Game 2. Game 4: Winner of Game 3 v. Winner of Game 2. Game 5: (if necessary): Rematch of game 4. So, here's a hypothetical: *Tigers win game one. They face the White Sox for Game Two and they win again. *Now the Twins and White Sox have each lost one game. If you lose two games, you're out. So they face each other for game three. White Sox win. Twins have now lost two games. Bye bye. *White Sox face the Tigers for Game 4 and for their survival. If they lose, it's their second loss and they're out. But the Tigers have not lost a game yet, so if they lose, they still live to play another game: that would be Game 5. I love double-elimination. No matter how you work it, it's four games at least, five games at most.

incorrect. I'll post the giveaway quote when I can find it.

Same episode: "He wants the impossible." "That's the short definition for Captain."

I take it the "nope" was the answer to Bluze's question, because the answer he gave was correct, right?

Wrong and wrong. It was Riker and Picard. WordWolf, you want to give them a fair shot, or take it and provide the next quote?
