"Martin hates boats. Martin hates water. Martin... Martin sits in his car when we go on the ferry to the mainland. I guess it's a childhood thing. It's a... there's a clinical name for it isn't there?" "Drowning."

No, this is "The Island," isn't it?

Reviewing this thread and I wanted to check something out, so I looked for my copy of Christians Should Be Prosperous and... danged! Can't find it. Threw it out! FREEDOM!!!! Gotta love it.

Put it all on one disc and use the disc as a coaster. :)

I've kept the hard research stuff: The lexicon and concordance can stay. Basically got rid of anything published by ACP or ECP.

This month marks the 20th anniversary of the first time I sat through a PFAL class. The book's been on my shelf all this time. And all the collaterals, too. Take God at His Magnified Word's Way Tells Me So Dynamic in Culture. Jesus Christ is Not God but Is Our Passover and Promised Seed. Are the Dead Receiving the Holy Spirit Today. And on and on. Will the Real You Please Shut Up... It's a lot of bookshelf space. And it's gone. All of it. Every last life-sucking page. Lifelines: Proverbs spoken by a deceitful predator. Gone. And not given away. Trashed. Not sold: dumped in the garbage where it belongs. I didn't put it on e-Bay. I put it in A-Landfill. If you look through my house today and peruse my bookshelf, you will no longer, EVER see anything written by Victor Paul Wierwille. My cult recovery began much later than I thought, many years after I left TWI. As long as I felt some need to hang onto those books, I was still tethered, however slightly, to that experience. No more. I truly am free. It is finished.

Years ago, they would have used "featured on Talk Soup" as a promotional slogan, right next to Life mag.

God's foreknowledge/predestination

Developed? Dark room? Girl, time to come up with some new, 21st Century analogies! -
I have to say I am feeling so much better these days. With each passing day, I feel less like and ex-smoker and more like a non-smoker. I'm off Chantix and off nicotine, and I love it. I'd say I stayed on the Chantix regime as prescribed for about a month, but as concerned as I was about the accompanying risks, I did not continue it. I may never know if it worked as intended because it works or if it was because I was determined to quit. All I know is that from the first day I took it, I utterly lost the urge to smoke. But here's the rub: That's not how they claim it works. So how much of it was the drug, and how much was, for lack of a better term, positive believing action?
-
John, You didn't miss a joke: there was an actual name there before, and one of the moderators removed it. You related to another poster who used the same last name here?
-
I did it! Two months without a cigarette, and I'm off Chantix (which is not advised: I'm supposed to still be on it, but decided not to do it). ANyway, two months feels good.

It would still be the journalistically responsible thing to do.

Mark, Maybe the name itself, along with the desire for privacy, is part of the issue. Your name is common: Google your name and find out where the first accurate reference to you is. Google my name, and the first page is all me. I imagine the more common your name, the easier it is to maintain privacy even with your name out there.

I originally posted under my full name, but I've since stopped that. Not that I hide it much.

Ignore the straight line in the middle, and the cone becomes as accurate as intended. That straight line is really deceptive more than a day or two out.

Now looks like it's missing Florida and headed straight for Katrina country... give or take 100 miles
-
Bad feeling about this one. South Florida AND Gulf Coasters in its sights. Last time that happened was Katrina.

Ok, I've got the movie. But I still can't figure the third word. Girl Axe --- West: Galaxy Quest. Now, what of the rat? Oh! I get it! Girl Axe Eek! West
-
Take the description at face value. Billie Jean is not my movie. She's just an actress who went on to become supergirl.
-
Nope. While that was one aspect of the plot of Erin brockovich, the summary I gave actually IS the WHOLE plot of the movie I have in mind.

Mickey! Umm, Rodent! Lady the Hatchet Rodent West!
