Back to the quote: Superman Lulls to Sleep Or Returns. Depends on what you thought of it.

Christian Educational Services (now known as STFI, not to be confused with STFU, which is what many would like them to do) ran a message board at the same time as Waydale. It was mostly doctrinal stuff. Then one day, they shut down. Too many people were openly debating and they didn't feel like being on the defensive all the time on their own board (understandable). So the board just disappeared one day. I went onto Waydale to find out if anyone knew about it. The name of the topic was: "The CES board shut down" The first post was, "Well, it looks like blah blah blah etc etc etc..." At the moment I created the thread, the board hicced up. The only thing that showed up was the first word of the Topic and the first word of the post. The Well Then people started responding. Then they wouldn't stop. "The" spawned a second thread. Then a third. Then it migrated to GS. For the last few years, it's been in a coma. I debated whether to post a Funeral for The thread, but I was afraid it would only be a matter of three days and three nights before someone figured out how to resurrect it. So I declined. And that is the story of The.

And let us add, on the evening the CES board shut down, which was what I was trying to say in the THE thread int he first place.

Like "Out of The Way," maybe?

I've reached the point where I no longer have VPW as a reference point for anything. I am no more interested in disecting his doctrines than I am in the works of L. Ron Hubbard, Mary Baker Eddy or Carlos Santana, with the exception that I might be talked into shelling out money for Santana's work.

The next site should be called "Out of the Way." TWI can't sue for it because the name makes it clear that it is not affiliated with them. It would fall under fair use.

Some people, I wouldn't moderate if my life depended on it. Never moderated Mike. Never moderated johniam. Tried never to moderate anyone I got into fights with, just to play it safe. I did moderate one person I probably shouldn't have. I stand by the moderating, but someone else should have done it. In any event, I checked with the other mods to make sure I wasn't letting personal tension get in the way of fairness. Funny thing is, I actually like that poster. We just got into fights now and then for reasons that somehow don't seem important.

I was modcat5. Some folks may have figured that out. I think I used the ability to delete a few out of line posts, got into it with a poster or two. One person figured me out specifically. By the time I was arguing with folks in the JW forum about moderators, it was sort of moot: I still had the ability to come in and moderate, but I had not exercised it in ages. I wish I were the mod I knew to be. In any event, the name modcat5 was a hurricane reference. Cat 5. get it?
