  1. Yes! The Blob was defeated (in the original movie) by cold. So they froze it and dropped it in the arctic. Interesting fact: The sequel, Beware the Blob, was directed by Larry Hagman. You're up, George.
  2. "I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!"
  3. Tommy Lee Jones The Fugitive Julianne Moore (It's a small role, but she's in it. She's the doctor who catches Kimble fixing the chart of a little kid who would have died if not for the interference).
  4. And that's the only problem you have with it?
  5. It is not The Thing. Or any variation of it. But if someone's feeling generous, the title could be considered a synonym for The Thing. It's a bit of a stretch (so to speak). Maybe stretch is not the right word. The Thing took place entirely in the arctic, if I recall correctly, so the fact that the arctic stays cold would have no bearing on the ability of The Thing to continue wreaking havoc. In the movie I'm quoting, the arctic staying cold is kind of crucial to the stopping of whatever it was they're glad they stopped. "I think you should send us the biggest transport plane you have, and take this thing to the Arctic or somewhere and drop it where it will never thaw."
  6. I checked AFTER I posted, and I was correct (almost shockingly). "At least we've got it stopped." "Yeah, as long as the Arctic stays cold." Hint: This is an old movie. Not many of us will have seen it in theaters. There was an 80s remake. These are the last lines of the original. Knowing that might help put it in context that will help you guess the movie, even if you don't remember the lines.
  7. The Sound of Music "And may the odds be ever in your favor."
  8. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (you could do it in one, ladies, by forcing him to sit through this movie). This is a guess, by the way.
  9. After a couple of days on this thread, Googling is okay. The names provided in the first clue should have given enough to go on.
  10. Sorry, work beckoned. A television series that followed a single homicide case throughout an entire season, with a pit stop at a mental hospital where Jack Nicholson and a large mute Indian are among the patients.
  11. "Where are you going?" "I'm taking a vacation." "God doesn't take vacations. Does he?... Do... ye?" "Did you ever hear of the dark ages? Besides, I'm covered. You can clear everything up in five minutes, if you want to. Right?"
  12. The Green Mile Michael Clarke Duncan Daredevil
  13. Attorney Ted Hoffman defends actor Neal Avedon, who has been accused of killing a teenage girl in what tabloids are calling the "Goldilocks" case. The defendant fakes being insane so that he ends up at a mental hospital run by a cruel nurse who makes him wish he'd just opted for prison.
  14. Masters of Sex and the Single Woman Masters of Sex and the City
  15. Against All Odds Jeff Bridges Iron Man
  16. Too late. A congressman's daughter under Secret Service protection is kidnapped from a private school by a man in a metallic green mask riding a glider. Alex Cross needs help to save her, so he recruits a high school student recovering from a unique bite.
  17. Seriously? Blame Canada was nominated for an Oscar! No one? "Shut your f-ing face, uncle f-er!"
  18. "Times have changed. Our kids are getting worse. They won't obey their parents, they just wanna fart and curse." "Should we blame the government? Or blame society? Or should we blame the images on TV?" "No! Blame Canada!"
