Most of the moderators are gone. So I take this request a little bit personally. That's not a negative statement. Just a fact. The political forum raised the level of acrimony on this page to a point that was not constructive. We had to make a decision that was in the best interest of this site, a decision about what the purpose of this forum is. It's just not politics. Well we are more than happy to host discussions about a wide variety of topics, political discussions generate problems that are not worth monitoring or policing. And we have no desire to leave a forum unmoderated. The decreased traffic on this site is, in my opinion, strong evidence that many people who have been told over the years to get a life have done so.

Vin Diesel. "I am Groot." "We are Groot." You're up.

Judy Garland is correct.

It was a direct answer to a direct question that underscores how you approach the scriptures we're discussing. Continuing to digress would be off-topic, but you're on safe ground so far. It appears you believe (and you will tell me if I am mistaken) that even if the Bible says governments are instituted by God, you would not believe it.

Tom, are you still Christian? Because Christians have struggled with these verses for centuries and I am sure you can find some explanations of these verses that will satisfy your faith if you are. I am not, but here's something I don't think. I don't think Jesus is blaming God for his predicament. He's not blaming a government authorized by God. Rather, he's blaming those who abuse that government for ungodly ends. The verses cited by TLC, in my opinion, do not establish God as narcissistic or sadistic. mmmph mhmmhph hmmph hmm. (That's me not saying what else I think because it would derail this thread. ;) )

The original "Left Behind" is cheesy but watchable.

One of the most recognizable stars of this (relatively) recent film is never actually seen on screen, although the character he plays is. He has two lines, one of which is repeated. The actor claims to have recorded it 1,000 times (it is used a lot, but not THAT much). His second line is a slight variation on the first, and it's his last line in the movie.

I'm up to date on both Walking Dead series, so I decided to check out the comics (available on line for free). There are many differences, though the basic plot outline is the same. Arguably the most popular character in the TV series flat out doesn't exist in the comics. A major character who died in the comics is still alive on TV, and a major character who died on TV is still alive in the comics. I was hoping someone here would be into it. Oh well.

I'm talking about telling a story that was not grounded in reality, like the first two seasons. Who's he going to fight next, Satan? The whole magic element just killed the tone they'd set for the show. And the whole world? He saves the whole world? What happens next seasom? Darkseid?

Arrow has lost its way.

Actually, she recently updated the lyrics and included a line about a song called ironic not having any examples of irony. Which actually IS an example of irony.

It's not an optimistic show. But damned if it's not entertaining.

I saw Flashpoint on Netflix. I found it confusing because they didn't actually show him going back to save his mom.

Critics were never fond of this series when it aired, but kids loved it. So did Carl Sagan, because it taught children to look for natural explanations to so-called supernatural phenomena/experiences. And I promise, that's as close as I'll get to doctrinal/questioning faith in this thread.

If you remember one, you remember them all. The first movie is "Inside Out." So are the rest.

And he'll get you high tonight. The one who left. Not the one who stayed. Although if she offered, I might take her up on it.

If this is what I think it is, it's clever as hell. I only recognize two of the movies, but they have something in common, and my wager is the rest have the exact same thing in common. Not entirely sure it fits the game, but it's so clever that "so what?"
