Nope. Remember, this series debunked the supernatural. It did not promote it. It was also fictional.

I thought it was obvious I was joking.

I'm atheist. Other than that, you'll have to ask around.

Well, that's all I can tell you. It's that guy who often introduces himself to the main character by turning around and saying "Yyyyyyessss?" I picture Lucille Ball as his foil, though I'm sure she's not the only one.

I can only think of one movie with John Lee Hooker AND Steven Spielberg. Actually, I can only think of one movie with John Lee Hooker, and Steven Spielberg is in it.

Most of the moderators are gone. So I take this request a little bit personally. That's not a negative statement. Just a fact. The political forum raised the level of acrimony on this page to a point that was not constructive. We had to make a decision that was in the best interest of this site, a decision about what the purpose of this forum is. It's just not politics. Well we are more than happy to host discussions about a wide variety of topics, political discussions generate problems that are not worth monitoring or policing. And we have no desire to leave a forum unmoderated. The decreased traffic on this site is, in my opinion, strong evidence that many people who have been told over the years to get a life have done so.

Vin Diesel. "I am Groot." "We are Groot." You're up.

Judy Garland is correct.

It was a direct answer to a direct question that underscores how you approach the scriptures we're discussing. Continuing to digress would be off-topic, but you're on safe ground so far. It appears you believe (and you will tell me if I am mistaken) that even if the Bible says governments are instituted by God, you would not believe it.

Tom, are you still Christian? Because Christians have struggled with these verses for centuries and I am sure you can find some explanations of these verses that will satisfy your faith if you are. I am not, but here's something I don't think. I don't think Jesus is blaming God for his predicament. He's not blaming a government authorized by God. Rather, he's blaming those who abuse that government for ungodly ends. The verses cited by TLC, in my opinion, do not establish God as narcissistic or sadistic. mmmph mhmmhph hmmph hmm. (That's me not saying what else I think because it would derail this thread. ;) )
