The Firm Tom Cruise Interview With A Vampire

I only knew her from her annoying simpering voice on sunday night teaching tapes: "Dyah Doctah Weah Will..." I don't recall her ever coming to any TWI gatherings in the UK. No talent at all apart from what we would call "brown nosing."

A Fresh Supply/Recuiting for PFAL/TWI
Trefor Heywood replied to TheSongRemainsTheSame's topic in About The Way
Must try that with the next pair of Mormon missionaries! -
1. Reform Judaism (100%) 2. Bahai Faith (90%) 3. Unitarian Universalism (89%) Least like a Jehovah's Witness (23%). Interestingly enough I am only 44% Mormon although I used to be one! :)--> And TWI come NOWHERE! :D--> But if Reform Judaism still requires circumcision forget it! :o-->

Politicians wear religion on their sleeve when they think it will get them votes. It's no guarantee of their standards at all. And we all know that we thought that VPW's values were 100% with the Word don't we!

You appear to have strange ideas as to what constitutes a terrorist organisation oilfieldmedic. No sane person would support NAMBLA (brought out as a red herring on every concievable subject it appears) but as far as I am aware it does not go around bombing and hacking peoples' heads off. And the ACLU may annoy some people at some of the causes it supports but neither does it bomb and maim.

CM And your point is?

Thinking isn't welcome in quite a few religious organisations but few have taken it to such extremes with dissenters, at least in modern times.

Would never have got it in a million years since I have never seen that movie. Suprised that nobody else did unless they haven't seen it either! :D-->

We are all still stuck on this one Raf! Either this thread is gonna die or you are going to have to triumphantly give us the answer and come up with something we might get!

Even worse were the claims that VP had "believed to die." That way they were not only covering up the cancer but also trying to maintain the accuracy of "the law of believing." This law had equal feet of clay to the devil spirits and cancer claims and needed shoring up with such preposterous nonsense.

I remember hearing a tape (ROA I think) where VPW was teaching and said: "Finally my brethren, be strong in Victor Paul Wierwille." A voice in the crowd shouts out "No". VP asked "who then?" "Jesus Christ!" the voice replies. "Right on baby!" said VP. Yet we were expected to be strong in the Lord only through TWI leadership in practice.

Creation Museum To Open
Trefor Heywood replied to Stayed Too Long's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Maybe it because more creationists are likely to be more traditional in such matters also? Gay creationists do exist though! -
Here in the UK the party that seemed to get the most TWI support were the Conservatives. We all seemed to welcome the fact of Mr Regan's Buddy Lady, Margaret Thatcher first winning election. We didn't know at that time what we would be in for! :D-->

I await your suggestions with bated breath Belle! My parents actually also visited us just after Christmas (just for the day) and brought my Christmas pressies. I wonder if this was also verboten or not, given that one was not actually "leaving the field" that way.

Well if so he was a complete winker! (did I spell that right)? ;)-->

Perhaps I am just a wee bit rebellious Belle in that I do question what seem to be arbitrary positions that cannot be satisfactorily explained. It might get me into trouble occasionally but God gave me a brain to use and free agency. I loved my family and for something really important like this was prepared to bend the rules. It's sad that nothing short of death and funerals was considered enough. It's also interesting that no action was taken against me, didn't even get reamed out about it. Had they tried it I would simply have gotten out all the sooner. What kind of trouble did you have in mind? ;)-->

Sound more like the Man of Cod to me! :D-->

Well I cannot speak for the reliability and provenance of auditors hired by TWI. But if they known fraudsters then the government should most certainly become interested. And maybe it's about time that the government had a proper auditing department and forced such organisations to provide full and available accounts to all interested parties. After all it is not just in the interests of those who donate but also in the interests of Joe Public Taxpayer who is effectively subsidising such organisations by paying a higher revenue through other sources. It would put the fear of God up quite a few of these secretive groups and individuals, especially if they put what qualifies as expenses upon a more equal footing with similar profit making organisations.

"Plausible deniability" seems to be the attitude that the leadership took by trying to find a host of other reasons and underplaying the fact that VPW had made such emphasis on the spiritual nature of the disease. To admit he had been in major error on this point would be to invite questioning as to his errors in other areas also. They tried to keep the real truth hidden in what was to be a vain attempt to keep the legend whole and pure. And to a great extent they succeeded as it was LCM that was to bring TWI to its knees, yet another major error that VPW made.

Don't TWI ever have to produce the books for outside bodies like the IRS?
