Not the artist. Here's a couple more lines. My girlfriend's gone off with my car And gone back to her ma and pa Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty Now I'm sitting here Sipping at my ice cold beer Save me, save me Save me from this squeeze I've got a big fat momma tyin' to break me And I love to live so pleasantly Live this life of luxury

I know ~Little Feat~ but I couldn't put the two together. A couple things here about this thread Nathan_Jr. Usually when a clue is given a verse is generally all that's posted. That is enough as long as the song fits within the guidelines of this thread. Then, as the game plays out another verse or two follows depending upon response or lack of response. It doesn't have to be the first verse of the song. It can be the middle or third, whatever. The idea is to keep us guessing. Another thing is to not give away the song title in the lyrics, as you have done here with ~The Rolling Stones~ Dead Flowers. That being said, why not take another turn (if you have one ready) and trim it down a bit. And hey, just have fun.

Yes. -
I have heard the song. Maybe Kris Kristopherson, but I think not. Someone more rocka'billy like Marshall Tucker or Charlie Daniels. Anyway, I'm just putting out a few guesses to help me narrow down the song. Other than that, I really don't have any idea as to the title. Long shot for me, at any rate.

So Nathan_Jr, if you want it is still your turn and go ahead with a new clue. If you don't then you can open it up to what's called a FREE POST. Then, someone else will take your turn.

I think I'm out of ideas WordWolf. I even went through my Led Zeppelin collection to see if I could find something with 'border' in it . ~Elton John~ has " Border Song" but obviously that's not it. -

Rewind tape. I must admit when I see those lyrics I draw somewhat of a blank when thinking of its title. I thought that was the song by ~Led Zeppelin~ but I can never remember the title? I never knew Norse mythology that well. Is it The Halls of Valhalla or something like it? -

I'm chiming in now after the fact and I like this song very much, however I would not have gotten it anyway. I like the medley but I just didn't pay enough attention to the lyrics before. Nathan you're still up if your want. Good song, you stumped us.

If this song doesn't fly with anyone I will change it right away. I like to dream Yes, yes, right between my sound machine -
I found a few musicians who have covered "Sweet Home Alabama", accomplished artists. I think both of them have received adequate air time on the radio thus, they would become alternatives to the original artist. I believe that was an amendment to this thread although I wasn't able to find the actual post about this rule. But having played for a while now, I know it is the rule or guideline.

I thought maybe this was already a clue from the last month or so but, it maybe that I was thinking about posting it too. Cracklin' Rosie -
Indeed. You are correct Nathan_Jr, I missed that WordWolf gave the name of the band wrong. It is possible that The Allman Brothers recorded it also. Good catch. I'll let WordWolf clarify before we move on.

I'm not sure about "posted in entirely" but yeah, that's it.

Big wheels keep on turning Carry me home to see my kin Singing songs about the Southland I miss Alabamy once again And I think its a sin, yes Well I heard mister Young sing about her Well, I heard ole Neil put her down Well, I hope Neil Young will remember A Southern man don't need him around anyhow Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers And they've been known to pick a song or two Lord they get me off so much They pick me up when I'm feeling blue Now how about you?
