  1. I'm going to add another one which I forgot I wanted to. A man can be an artist... in anything, food, whatever. It depends on how good he is at it. Creasy's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece. You know something, the whole thing, it's right here. I love this f*ckin' place. I know that sounds crazy. If anything happens, Mike, don't leave, don't leave me over there. You got, you gotta, hey, just don't leave me. You gotta promise me that, Mike. No, man, you gotta, you gotta promise, definitely. Sack, I've always liked you. So I put up with your stories about scallops and otters, and it's all good because you seem to make her happy and that's what matters to me most. But this is *her* decision. This watch. This watch was on your daddy’s wrist when he was shot down over Hanoi. He was captured, put in a Vietnamese prison camp. He knew if the gooks ever saw the watch it’d be confiscated, taken away. The way your dad looked at it, that watch was your birthright
  2. Talk about being 'WAY OFF', I was on the other side of the universe.

  4. Yes, considered the first rock and roll song played live on TV in Aug, 1955. He played "Rock Around The Clock".
  5. It's unanimous then. Bad Time ~Grand Funk Railroad
  6. I think I'm missing something? Is Topo Gigio's band a metaphor for something. I'm not getting it, but my source doesn't say anything about him (them) being the first rock band on Ed Sullivan. Who were they?
  7. I'm in love with the girl i'm talking about I'm in love with the girl I can't live without Well, let her be somebody else's queen I don't want to know about it There's too many others that know what I mean And that's why I got to live without it I'm in love with the girl I'm talking about I'm in love with the girl I can't live without All the stories coming back to me From my friends and the people that I don't want to see The things you say I know just couldn't be true At least not until I hear them from you 'Cause I still in love with the girl I'm talking about I'm in love with the girl I can't live without
  8. I'm not sure what stratosphere they (he) are in? Anyway, I was going to give another clue but it's doubtful it would make any difference. The British American rock band ~Dire Straits~ were on a bit of a lull musically when they got together, after some time off to produce an album. Front man and lead singer Mark Knopfler, was in a department store when he overheard some guys who were complaining about their job while watching MTV. Knopfler got a piece of paper and starting writing things down; a television/custom kitchen/refigerator delivery, What are those Hawaiian noises? That ain't workin'. He wrote the song right in the department store. Many of the lyrics from "Money for Nothing" were things they actually said. You can guess the rest now and that song is "Money for Nothing" from Dire Straits album "Brother's in Arms" the first album in the CD format to sell a million copies. Adding the presence of Sting with his in falsettos voice singing backup vocals "I want my MTV" probably didn't hurt the success of the album although there are many other hits on it. Again, if I don't post something in the next 24 hours, please feel free to post, if you have something.
  9. Three days I googled it. It must not be memorable because nothing came up!
  10. That would have been my guess too WordWolf and if not that then "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang".
  11. Well, let her be someone else's queen I don't want to know about it There's too many others that know what I mean And that's why I've got to live without it Well, the stories crawling back to me From my friends and the people that I want to see The things they say I know just couldn't be true At least not until I hear it from you
  12. A great guess. I did a little exploring and found that The album "The Joshua Tree" was the first new album to be released on CD, vinyl and cassette tape all at the same time. I still think "Billy Joel's "52nd Street" was the very first. Okay so let's try to narrow it down some then. As it would happen, when a group of rock artists were recording their eponymous title song to their album, its band leader and songwriter said to one of his fellow band mates, I wish we could get "somebody" to sing on the song. That "somebody" was in the same place on vacation as they were recording. The song was already completed so they just had an iconic rock star singer to sing a lyric in the background. That singer was already a giant in rock and the band had been hoping that their new album would put themselves back into the mix with other great bands after a bit of a lull. That bit of being at the right place at the right time for them, took the hit single, the album, and the band into another stratosphere.
  13. No bites huh, alright. Amanda Peet Identity Rebecca De Mornay
  14. A lot of hit singles on that album, but that's not the album. Beside I think Genesis was an English group, no Americans in that band.
  15. No WordWolf. That was released in 1973. I'm sure it has gone platinum multiple times over. but they would have been vinyl or cassette and before the era of CD's arriving in 1982. I think Billy Joel's 52nd Street was the first commercial CD released in Japan in 1982. This group was an British American rock band. And it's not Fleetwood Mac.
  16. Well, let her be someone else's queen I don't want to know about it There's too many others that know what I mean And that's why I've got to live without it
  17. Is there one line that stands out among the rest of the lyrics, (maybe with the title in it) that I may recognize? Ha ha. I don't suppose that any players playing here would know this one, myself, I certainly don't know this one, and when posts just sit there and don't get responses, it takes two weeks until they get passed along. So I, at least like to post something just to say, I don't have a clue yet.
  18. I'll cross my fingers for you George. I'm hoping it's the one.
  19. The same song cuz other isn't that appropriate. We got to move these refrigerators, we got to move these color TV's
