  1. In the vein of familiarity George, does the average American know this guy's name or is mostly a random baseball statistic? I like baseball and baseball statistics but random is imo in a whole other league.
  2. Sounds to me like a Mac Davis tune. I could use another line or two George.
  3. Well, it's going to be a lot of hit and miss with me. I know about some things in baseball. I played it in school. I watch it, and right now I'm getting excited about the postseason. When it comes to statistics, not so much. I don't believe that I can really come up with a guy that I can place playing playing baseball in the big leagues for five decades. Johnny Bench comes to mind, I think he got hit by a lot of pitches. Question then George. This guy who was known for getting hit by pitches was it because of his batting stance, like he crowding the plate, or was he hit because he wasn't real liked. I'll go with Mickey Mantle (Alex) instead of Johnny Bench.
  4. Again, isn't this song titled "I've Got a Brand New Pair of Roller Skates" or perhaps it's "Brand New Key"?
  5. I'm not trying to speak for Raf, I'm just following the thread WordWolf, but Burt Bacharach just died a couple of months ago. So not him. The artist wasn't alive in 2016 as noted before.
  6. Close to another line from a another movie "Se7en". Guy says, "This isn't even my desk", but that isn't it.
  7. Couldn't be Dark Side as the artists for the most part are still alive. And this was sales of most CDs in 2016.
  8. It's sure not ringing any bells for me WordWolf.
  9. Human posts. and posts again, and again.............. Brenda Fricker Veronica Guerin Cate Blanchett
  10. No need for an artist in this song thread Raf. Of course they covered ~Simon and Garfunkel~.
  11. Richie Valens died at 17. The Big Bopper (J P Richardson) was the closest of those candidates at 28.
  12. "Rain Man" "That's how you're gonna beat em Butch! They keep underestimating you''.
  13. You got it. Brian Jones was the first to go of what has been come to be known today as the "27 club". That's six of them. Did you come up with that guess Raf, out of the blue or what? Because I was thinking of leaving a clue about him. The singer I referred to from Woodstock was ~ Canned Heat's~ lead singer Alan Wilson. He died a year after Jimi Hendrix, but like I said, he was another performer who died at age 27 from the Woodstock concert bands along with Hendricks and Joplin. The Big Three J's of course I referenced were Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. Two more singers I have on my list were Rockin Robin Roberts of "The Wailers" a guy from 50s and 60's band from the Pacific Northwest, and Mia Zapata a singer from a Seattle based Punk band known as "The Gits" who was murdered in 1993 and remained unsolved until 2003. A kind of a coincidence I suppose, I remember reading in high school about both the deaths of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin in the same cafe in the newspaper. How strange I thought.
