"She wanted truth But all she got was lies Came the time to realize And it was too late She didn't know what she was headed for And when I found what she was headed for Mama, it was too late It's too late She's gone too far She's lost the sun"

WordWolf you used this same line just over a month ago. -
"Paint your palette blue and gray Look out on a summer's day With eyes that know the darkness in my soul Shadows on the hills Sketch the trees and the daffodils Catch the breeze and the winter chills In colors on the snowy linen land Now, I understand, what you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how Perhaps they'll listen now "Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand Now I understand What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow Now, I think I know what you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they're not listening still Perhaps they never will

"Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand Now I understand What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow"

Tough one by me George.. I think I see a parallel with Arnold in some sequel, but I really don't have a clue what that might be, provided I'm reading this right? -
Next song: "Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow"

Okay Barry, then, "Eve of Destruction". Maguire. Barry Maguire. I'm not sure of the group's name. I have it on a CD called "The Spirit of the Sixties". It's a really terrific CD with some of greatest 60's songs on it.

I've got the title, I'm not coming up with a complete name of the artist yet. Gary or Gerry? I don't know. He was solo artist.

This thread must include the singers or the bands name with the title. A cover band or artist, waysider, is alright as long as it has received some play time on a mainstream radio station. You know like, ~Pearl Jams~ version of "Last Kiss" originally recorded by Wayne Cochran in 1961.

They were having some sound mixing issues, the guitar was interfering with the vocals. Early 70's, came with the territory. I never got to see them in concert but I've always been a fan of their music.

You got it. The name is just Mr. Jones.

No. I'll give you another clue. "Smiling in the bright lights, coming through in stereo When everybody loves you, you can never be lonely Well, I will paint my picture Paint myself in blue and red and black and gray All of the beautiful colors are very, very meaningful Yeah well, you know, gray is my favorite color I felt so symbolic yesterday, if I knew Picasso I would buy myself a gray guitar and play"
