  4. That would be right George. I figured that bounty hunter would have done it.
  5. OK. Here's something: I'll try to break down some trivia and give some clues about this TV series. This series had an A-list Hollywood actor in it. Early 60's. The actor thought his prospects were drying up so he took on the TV show. When the series started becoming a hit, he became more noticed and started getting movie roles. One of them launched his film career but in order to do that film, he had to fake a car accident which presummedly had left him with muscle pulls, cuts and bruises, so he could get out of filming the TV series. In 1986, Rutger Hauer played a bounty hunter and was supposedly a descendant of the character from the 60's TV series in a major motion picture of the same name. The role of the character from this TV show was introduced an an episode of the 1957 Western series, Trackdown, which starred Robert Culp as a Texas Ranger. More clues to follow if necessary.
  6. That would be right WW. Tom Petty & TH have a new album that's supposed to be out the beginning of this year.
  7. It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down I had the radio on, I was drivin' Trees flew by, me and Del were singin' little Runaway I was flyin' I felt so good like anything was possible I hit cruise control rubbed my eyes Last three days the rain was un-stoppable It was always cold, no sunshine I rolled on as the sky grew dark I put the pedal to make some time There's something good waitin' down this road I'm pickin' up whatever's is mine
  8. One of the lines sounds like something Mel Brooks would say. "Spaceballs" ?
  9. "Wall Street" "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".
  10. Dark Shadows Michelle Pfeiffer Frankie and Johnny
  11. Because there isn't any challenge in it and it isn't any fun. To me anyway. Lets do another one. I didn't like the last one so much. "Eve of Destruction" Barry McGuire It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down I had the radio on, I was drivin' Trees flew by, me and Del were singin' little Runaway I was flyin'
  12. Is this still cryptic? Because I thought I left a couple of clues warranting a guess at least. Look, I don't want to make it too easy, do I? What's the fun in that. Perhaps, (if anyone is playing) whoever is playing is trying to hard. The clues are there. How about a clue? It's not "You've Got Mail", but it's in the same ballpark; the movie that is.
  13. MacArthur Park was popular enough in 68, providing you were alive, where ever you were, in Vietnam, floating a boat in Mexico, or smuggling hashish from Istanbul, you would have recognized some of these lines and been able to put them together. Think of all the hate there is in Red China Then, take a look around to Selma, Alabama You may leave here for 4 days in space But when you return it's the same old place The pounding of the drums the pride and disgrace
  14. "Some one left the cake out in the rain" would have been enough for Songs for the one line thread for me to get it. I'm not trying to give it away. Had da, should da, would da, suck it up. You got stumped George.
  15. That's Kevin Spacey in "The Usual Suspects". Man looks in the abyss, there's nothing staring back at him. At that moment, man finds his character. And that is what keeps him out of the abyss.
  16. RichardHarris (the actor) was the first to record this song. I remember My little sister would play her 45 rpm over and over again and in 1968, the song played frequently on the radio as well, reaching # 2 on the American charts. Unusual for a song of it's length over 7 minutes long, it comprised of four movements, amid-tempo arrangement, a slow tempo and quiet arrangement, an Allegro, and finally a reprise of the first arrangement. Harris used MacArthur Park to debut his pop career. Donna Summer recorded it, Waylon Jennings's too and others. MacArthur Park
  17. Here's the beginning of the song. If this doesn't do anything I'll give it up. Spring was never waiting for us, girl It ran one step ahead As we followed in the dance Between the parted pages and the prayers Still love's hot, fevered iron Like a striped pair of pants
  18. Well I wouldn't want that, so here's a little more There would be another song for me For I will sing it There would be another dream for me Someone will bring it I will drink the wine while it is warm And never let you catch me looking at the sun And after all the loves of my life After all the loves of my life, you'll still be the one I will take my life into my hands, and I will use it I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it I will have the things that I desire And my passion flow like rivers through the sky And after all the loves of my life Oh, and after all the loves of my life I will be thinking of you - and wondering why
