Human without the bean

Today's movie feature presentation is described by critics as multi-genre, combines Science Fiction, Road movies, and Romance. A satellite sends out a message of peace to any alien forms to come to earth. Upon it's decent the alien ship is shot down. The movie had no less than 6 directors, only to end up with John Carpenter. Some of the directors left and made other successful movies, Flashdance and War Games. This movie is distinct in that it is one of the rare instances where a film in the Sci-Fy genre received a nomination for acting, in this case Best Actor.

My guess is you probably have seen it before, but who knows, maybe you haven't. The theme song of the show was written by a popular Puerto Rican composer/ singer of the time. He thought they wouldn''t like it so he wrote two. They liked them both and ran one at the beginning and the other at the end of the show.
