I know a lot of people that left the Way, and have had a chance to talk to many of them before ever coming in to GreaseSpot. Most of you guys here were Corps or Staff or held some sort of Leadership positions. I'm gonna ask you guys a question that was asked of me (rhetorically) many times by people that were just Twig members back in the day. "Why didn't they tell us?"

Well, what I see is that people got so blinded to stuff. If you run with the opinion that anyone that complains about a wrong is a dissenter and needs to be "removed", you open the door to further abuses. Even those without direct knowledge of something begin to run away from fires, rather than towards them - to put them out. Best to be nowhere near the "Blast Zone", avoid knowing about what's going on ... don't ask what this or that conversation was about, or why JimBob or SallySue got told to go. Wait till an "Official Story" is concocted, and then believe it - even if you dont. Just shut up, mind your own business, and let the "Leaders" do as they will. After all they're the Leaders....

I wonder how may people in WayD or WOW - when they got their assignments and saw themselves listed as the "Coordinator", went "Oh Look! God chose ME! ....well of course He did...!"

Personally (and for whatever that's worth), I believe that the "Nephilim" were no greater in stature than any normal human (as in "Giants") nor do I believe that they are/were the Angels that fell from grace. I believe they were humans only. I've never gotten into the incubus/succubus teachings, and believe that the angels in prison, fallen angels, have little to do with the "nephilim' of Genesis. There isn't enough in what is written to suppose otherwise unless you make some rather large leaps past logic. Most of those 'blanks' have been filled in by extra-biblical interpretation and teachings over the years.

Religion and Cult are synonyms to me. You try to worry about that when you have a Jewish raised parent and a Catholic raised one. Everything is an arguement, but they're all man-made is my point in using that word.

Hey,.... I just had a wild thought. Was there ever a "Suggestion Box" for Staff? at TWI HQ?

There was a book in my dad's Attic called The Marxist Minstrels, it was written by someone who never got over the fact that Rock and Roll was prevailing on the airwaves at that time (70's) -- You know, Drugs, Sex and Rock 'n' Roll. It was included with the class materials one year for the Advanced Class. So several thousand AC'ers left reading that as though it was the Bible on Music. I think this would have been AC '79,... after that the ministry music began to change into "Hee-Haw/Lawrence Welk". But the book stated that the Beatles werer Bad, very BAD. In fact anyone performing Rock was Bad. So Rock is bad and Disco Sucked and Martindale gave us Athletes of the spirit while boinking whoever he could. I guess it all depends on what you "DO" with the music ytou're into at the time.....

I would like to be in charge of the Lollipop Department. My research assistants, the Lollipop Kids (from The Wizard of Oz - T.W.O.) and I, can check out all lollipops one lick at a time (no biting), and finally deliver an answer to the wise old Bird on how many licks etc. we can have discussions/arguements over what flavor the red ones are. We can also get into Charms Blow-Pops and come up with a list of what really "blows" at T.W.I. ... ... that, will be our annual event!

Aren't there records in the Old Testament which show how God placed his spirit on people to speak with them and then removed it afterwards? Cyrus, all of Israel at one time, hell - he even made Baalam a Prophet and then when he refused to listen, spoke to him through an A__ (well-spellchecker -yanno?) uhm,... donkey-like critter. David prayed that God not take his holy spirit from him (after F'ing up). So there's something to that,.. the individual having spirit to talk to God (and vice versa), but God can do work-arounds, the VOICE in the garden, the Burning Bush, etc... I suspect God knows all the ways that he can talk to people. There might even be a few He hasn't used to date. One day we'll get a spiritual body like Christ and we can have a chat with God. He might be spirit - but I'll bet He has a pretty good sense of humor. hell, He puts up with us! And Waysider, I believe you are exactly right. Many people go swimming every day without drowning. They're in the water and out of it in a small space of time. It's the ones that are suddenly pushed in or stay too long - or - God forbid - try to breathe the water, that are in the most danger. Some were fully immersed too long...! But just remember, you can drown in just a bucket of water, in just a few seconds. As I see it, the Way Corps was like "Swimming Lessons" without a "Life-saving" course to go with it.

Well, the bible says that one's understanding is unfruitful when speaking in tongues. It also says speaking in tongues is the rest which “may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing” for the weary. So your mind "rests" when speaking in tongues. It quits thinking about some things, it's harder for it to Focus. Okay, it can be refreshing to not let all your worries close in on you. It doesn't surprise me that it bypasses the language portion of your brain. Now, on to common sense,.... Whenever you have the ability to do something, you have to consider the pros and cons of doing it, and not use it to your disadvantage. So if you really need to concentrate, or analyze a situation, do that. If you want to give your mind a rest, speak in tongues. The parts about God being involved in it are up to the individual to consider and believe or not believe it. Yet it's something you can ALL DO,... even if you no longer believe in God at all. So use it if you will and don't think it's something it's not.

I'll go this far. That is to say ~ If God wants to talk to you, He can, He will. I don't really care how that happens, because it doesn't matter to me, just that it does.

It's been about a decade since L. Craig Martindale had any influence on the minds of those who saw him as a "leader". Your threads seem to center around him as if he were still running the show. If TWI had a "mantle" to pass, it was passed about a decade ago, to Rosalie F. Rivenbark. It's why we satirically call her the HOGFODAT and Martindale the MOGFODAT. Fortunately, Martindale has been relegated to irrelevance and the only inconvenience he can provide to anyone is in their minds, thoughts and memories. Just keep in mind that he's gone, that should help. The Way never recovered from His ways, or Weirwille's ways and the only major change in The Way Ministry has been the further loss of "followers". God has little to do with that ministry these days, and it's dying on the vine. Whoever leads it next is welcome to it - from my standpoint, because it pretty much exists anymore to manage a pile of cash left over from days gone by (and that is exactly what motivates those in charge now). If it weren't for the money and the multi-level marketing sheme they continue to operate, no one would be interested in running it any longer. It was a religion before Martindale took it over, and he was never very bright anyways.

Well,... That is what we call incompetence in the Business World. Normally, people just get fired over that kind of shi..... I've fired a couple of people over something very close to that, and then I kick myself twice - if I hired the idiot in question. I have to. It is a business (businesses) I run, and really poor judgement can cost everyone working in a small business. Of course in The Way It's the ABS money, not theirs, and people will just give them more no matter how poorly they deal with things,.... right?
