Tell her that you know a few Dorothys that still travel with the Snake Oil salesmen/wizards, But the scarecrow finally got a brain, the Tin man got a heart, and you finally found your courage. It really explains enough and it won't offend them. Beyond that, you can answer whatever they ask.

Oh well - yanno,.... even if it had meant that neighbor = household..... Jesus said "love your enemies" And William O'Daniel’s Irish New Testament An Soisgeul do Réir Lucais Caibidil 6 28. Tabhruidh bhur mbeannachd don dreim mhalluigheas sibh, agus déunuidh urrnaíghe ar son na muinntire do ní bhur ndíoghbháil. King James Bible The Gospel of Luke Chapter 6 28. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Oh, one other thing,... the kinder, gentler, Rosalie Administration,.... largely meant holding off a bit on being A$$es to people. For Rosalie, this took a hermitage of a sort, But can any of you that were close to Headquarters say that there was anything done, more than it was - to simply discontinue doing some things?
-
Well, obviously I have a rather personal reason for not liking Rosalie, and it colors my views of her. Sure I believe she's deluded, I just don't see personal delusion as an excuse for evil. I don't care if the "sold out" years ago, or last week, because that doesn't make it all better, and they chose to be who they are. Conscience seared through? Sure. But even so, and even considering that, they walk without love towards people whom they decide to go after. They are devoid of compassion when they do so - and I don't really care how they justify themselves.

Very good Bolshevik! That made me laugh as well! :)

Our Gathering and Our Resurrection
Gen-2 replied to JeffSjo's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Perhaps I should be clearer. I believe God will get me up from the dead, and that I have eternal life. I believe that the Bible tells us very little about eternity. That's a LOT more than any of us can imagine. We will know, even as we are also known, and not some poor reflection. We will have new bodies with new capabilities. I don't worry about other people's allusions to what they think the Bible means, nor do I make leaps of logic to fill in gaps. It's enough for me to trust God to do what's best in His mind, for me. That is my Hope. I believe that Revelation Chapter 20, vss. 4-6 discusses those beheaded for God, and it tells us things they hadn't done. Now you can add in anything else you want there, but God doesnt. I do think that this is where people say things are alluded to. I just don't have any allusions. I was never beheaded, at least not so far. My hope in in God, My hope is in Christ, not allusions, and in what he says, and not in what men try to tell me He really meant when he said it. There is nothing in the Book of Revelation to support the Body of Christ's inclusion in verse 4 of chapter 20,... many of the dead were never beheaded, and many are alive. There -
It's always amazed me that The Way completely disgreards "love thy neighbor as thyself" in word and deed. In fact some of them take it a step further, making disparaging remarks of those not in The Way,... with pride. They don't really seem to care about what God was asked them to do in this regard, nor do they attempt to follow Christ's example in these matters.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I only knew him from a few posts here. I will pray for those who loved him.

It could be, that with advanced age, she's lost that ability to know when to cover her A$$, but in the past she's known exactly when to NOT tell the whole truth. So at least at one time While Chairman of the Board, she knew. And in other threads many of you have said as much. How easily we tend to stuff things aside. Ahhh that's a touch od semantics there, that is. I never meant that she didn't think the Way was God's One Ministry. I simply meant that she screwed many people over gleefully, well beyond "God's Needs" to see that individual or family, group etc,.... screwed over. And she enjoyed it. It's Her and God baby! and she knows exactly what's on God's mind. That's why said she knows.
-
Read Rosalie's testamony,..... where she swears to tell the truth - the whole truth and nothing but the truth - so help her God. And you'll see, she knows.
-
Well that is a toughie T&O. I really believe that she doesn't care about others unless there is some benefit to her to do so, and I'd have to say she definitely lives in her own little bubble there. Now whether that translates into her ignorance is another question. If she has it in her heart to screw someone over she certainly knows how to go and take care of business, and so far, the BOD ducklings waddle in her wake (and not vice versa). Perhaps a case could be made either WAY, But either way,... she does not care about the people she affects, or the effect that she has on their lives via her "Declarations". She's a compassionless soul either way, and a true waste of skin.

Gee, in addition to the LBGT issue, this post has one foot in religion and one foot in politics. It's the olde double whammy. Maybe the week after the USA goes on the Metric System, this issue will resolve itself. But until then I have a feeling we'll be slugging along with Two-Liter Bottles and twelve ounce cans. It's not the minds of all Christians,... and then again, it's not JUST Christians. It's many religions and many minds of those with no religion as well,... that you will have to change. As for the "SIN" issue. Getting drunk is a sin, and we tried prohibition, but it didn't work. Very few people live their entire lives without getting drunk at least once, and even if they don't, that's okay they just commit some other sin. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. So I think the "SIN" arguement is one that does not follow logic,... Something about logs and motes and eyes comes to mind, it's a non-sequitur. Will it happen?........ depends largely upon the LBGT community, but I don't think anyone will be opening that door for them, as a society we simply have no manners at times.

Well Lamsa made his own Bible, and he didn't really know what he was doing, but he thought he did, and so few people were doing anything with Syriac and Chaldean, much less Aramaic back then. The majority of his Bible was just a modern language translation of established versions and rarely deviated from them much except in a few key places where ARAMAIC supposedly made all the difference. I guess it was interesting to know that a rope couldn't go through the eye of a needle. I think Lamsa tried to make a case that he was the premiere Aramaic scholar, and no one would really say otherwise back then, either because they didn't know Aramaic, or because they were happy to see their scholarly field receiving some long overdue attention, and perhaps, some respect on the horizon. I have no problem with scholars except when they lie or lose sight of common sense to feed their egos. And they are a very small (yet often vocal) percentage of each field of study. For those who do the work and learn through their studies, I have nothing but respect, as long as they correct rather than codify their errors - if and when they discover them. The Way International does the reverse. and if something is glaringly wrong, they whitewash it and push on without correcting it.

Good Point Tzaia! Most of the people (Not all, but certainly most) I know that are really brainy about the Bible, end up carving out their own little systems of believing, But hour to hour and day by day, you'd be hard pressed to recognize that they have anything to do with God --- unless of course - you asked them. and when they "witness" it's worth the price of admission to a comedy club, as they have no idea what to do if the other person doesn't agree completely with them from the get-go. They just get angry and badmouth that person when they walk off declaring how little they know. BUT The funniest part is watching them being artificially sweet when they meet the new prospect (person), venemous-sweet poisonous-honey dripping from their fangs on approach after sizing up the enemy... er,... new person... ...And if you laugh at them - even a little - they spin! Spin! SPIN!!!! It can be outstanding fun! Just stay out of throwing range!

And it has really cool illustrations every once in a while if you get the paperback one (I've never seen it in Hardcover But it's much bigger than Pillai's books). It seems a lot more believable than K.C. Pillai's homespun yarns too. But really,... pictures! It's cool because it has pictures! And it's well organized. and not written in Bible-Scholar-speak. Is it really useful? Well,.... to quote OldSkool from earlier in this thread,... " Found it insightful but not earth shattering." ...but a fun diversion while you're baking a pie or somesuch.
-
Oh they know,................ But they don't care. They have a Jack, but they will not help you, and they're teaching others to not-help-you too.

Personally I've always likes my Con Men to be rather up front about it. Like THIS GUY!

Our Gathering and Our Resurrection
Gen-2 replied to JeffSjo's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
That makes no sense. In your first two quoted passages, different people are mentioned, and they take place at different places. Unless you are saying, Ignore that, it's all the same. No offense but there is dissimilarity there that your words do not clear up. Your third passage has little to do with reconciling the differences of the first two insofar as times and places are concerned. As an example, all of those in the second quoted passage were dead and then resurrected. In the first quoted passage, some were dead and resurrected, and some are alive. And then The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. Different events, different times, different people. -

So most of the desensitizing techniques boil down to - Shut up and give us your money, If you have to talk, go get more people to take the class, and get the ones we can bleed for a while, not those poor bastards that can't feed us well. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feed me! Does it have to be human? Feed me! Does it have to be mine? Feeeed me! Where am I supposed to get it? Feed me, Seymour / Feed me all night long - That's right, boy! - You can do it! Feed me, Seymour / Feed me all night long / Ha ha ha ha ha! / Cause if you feed me, Seymour / I can grow up big and strong.

Did Early Christians Turn Away from Paul?
Gen-2 replied to Broken Arrow's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Back to the thread now: Did Early Christians Turn Away from Paul? erkjohn,... I believe you answered your own question in the verse you quoted. It seems we're all concentrating on the how and why of it. Paul wrote that they did. The reasons for it may or may not be what we think. We humans love to speculate beyond what's written and give our interpretations and cause our own divisions. We're all good for that, but yeah, they turned away from him.
