Pass the Mona-Vie please! I think its noteworthy that they consider speaking the word to people (that are not within their walls) --- punishment!

I hear you Steve. And I'm not "after you" by the way, in case you might think I am - no malice here. Perhaps the trick is to move along to the next place in life God sends you, armed with all you've learned and be able to not be fooled again. This time you just keep your eyes wide open and stay your hand. Don't give your heart away cheaply anymore. It's been your undoing. Sometimes we get ourselves into situations and let them overtake us and God ends up having to kick us. This often takes the form of us crying unto the Lord and He hears us and delivers us from all our distresses. Later down the road we once again find ourselves crying out. My guess is you recognize the verse/verses I'm paraphrasing there. Hey you gave the Old Testament example earlier and the Who's song title. You seem to be piecing the answer to this all together yourself here. The pattern isn't new Psalm 120 is the short form; may seem a little harsh but it's worth looking at. Then re-read Psalm 107. God tells you why this stuff happens. You're a good man, but pride is a wide hole. In the past you've allowed others to purchase your heart with a promise of a seat at their table, and then your hand goes up. You've just got to pay more attention and keep that from happening again. Sometimes the best seat at the table is the one no one cares to sit in. Don't be fooled again.

I believe you Steve. But the false doctrine you believed in various places, I'm not going to pin responsibility for those beliefs on God, As you say, He took His hand from before your eyes,... I just don't think He put it there. While God may lead you places, your shepard, Jesus, was faithful to retrieve you. Something you seem to agree with. I don't understand. You seem to be saying that you're not responsible for getting into ugly situations because your God blinded your eyes so that you wouldn't see the truth.... That sounds oddly familiar

The way (pardon that would'ja?) I see it, ol'e Jesus has left the pen and gone out to round up Steve and corral him where he belongs. But that lil sheep keeps running off,.... Still, the shepard has been persistant, but every time that lil sheep sees the shepard approaching, off he goes again! It's almost as if the sheep thinks the shepard is trying to GET him! Now these wild runs from the shepard have led to quite a few pitfalls, from which this sheep has always eventually been rescued. Though it takes a while for the shepard to get the bleating lil guy out of the holes he's fallen into, he always places him back on the path to the door. He doesn't regret running the thief off on occasion,.... It's his sheep - after all. baaaa!!!

I WANT TO tell a short story here,... On Jan 07 2007, my fiancee died. I was there. then on the 12th of the same month my mother died. I've lost 4 good friends since then, and last September my father passed away. I arranged the funerals, all except my fiancee's. At the last one, my father's, which was a wake, a fellow I've known for many years came up to me and said. Katie,... you're just the kiss of death to your friends and family. My eyes opened widely and I stared at him and smiled, saying, "Hey, you're my new best friend!"
-
Wow, that's the most concentrated - guilt laden, load of Bulls#!t, fear-mongering I've heard in a while... You just have to remember how much love it takes to be an A$$#ole, especially from people who haven't spared much thought for you ever since your husband died. I have to imagine God putting His head in His hands and doing that Lurch thing,.... Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooh............ Like you, I'd consider that person a sounding brass, or a tinkling symbol,... and just move ahead. God knows dear, God knows....

Steve,......................... " I think now that the resurrection of the just IS THE SAME AS THE resurrection of the just." don't we all? get some sleep guy...

Most of our concepts on death have changed along with our increasing knowledge in, oh,... say, the last 200 years In 1810 beliefs that we now treat as natural, and recognize as just part of the background of what we know, were quite radical. People were only beginning to understand that the earth was very very old and not just a handful of millenia old. The beginning was much further back than we thought. New studies of the text of the Bible in the 19th century, pressed against a literal acceptance of biblical truth too. Many of Humanity's rock solid principles of what the world was, toppled and Science grew by leaps and bounds medicine refined itself beyond bloodletting and sawbones and We explored spiritualism and psychiatry. God was even proclaimed dead in the early 1900's and each of these things bore on how we viewed death. Today, increasing numbers of people believe that your death is the end of the line and you cease to exist. Religious views of any life after death are seen as Hocus Pocus to poke fun at... the opium of the people, the bread ans circuses for the masses.

OH, Okay,.... Now I understand that sirg, Most of the world,.... Hasn't made it all the way through those stages Roy Posted, only in the western world Many countries have a callous attitude toward death. some embrace it but that stuff Roy posted isn't global. In China, the common attitude is "Oh well" unless you knew the person. There are 2-3 Billion people there They can't freak when someone die on some days, over a million deaths can occur there daily. That history,... only belongs to some of the world's inhabitants. "it" IS ROY'S LIST. Hope that helps

Federal Court Claims Right to Regulate Scripture Interpretation
Gen-2 replied to James Trimm's topic in About The Way
Yes I believe the court will set aside all doctrinal issues and "not rule" on any of those and view your case as a pure copyright infringement case. In order to do so they will look at the words in question without regard to what you (or the Way) say about doctrine. If you bring it up doctrine, the judge will simply tell you to desist, looking instead to the amount of material borrowed. I'll assume it's enough to gain attention from the Way, so it's probably signifigant. If you try to make doctrine a point, the Way's lawyers will object. The Judge will uphold their objection and proceed with the case. I'd make preparations for that if I were you, and I wouldn't count on making it a doctrinal case. Maybe later on you can appeal it. But a lower court will not allow itself to become entangled, they'll find you guilty and let you appeal. That's quite common on any touchy cases. Let a Higher court decide. Even if they let you speak on "Doctrine",... don't delude yourself into thinking they will decide on that basis in a Lower court. -
Thanks for sharing the secret to a Holey Life. I'm sorry I couldn't help it Hey yesterday I wrote this big post for this thread and then made it vanish by hitting the wrong button I think my post fell into a hole.... <sniff>

I suspect the court will side with you allowing you to continue to believe whatever you wish ...and against you in that you infringed on their copyright Unless you can come up with a valid argument proving that religious organizations, or at least the Way in particular, do not merit copyright protection. -
alright,..... I don't even understand Jeff's questions. There have always been 2 resurrections. One for the just - and - one for the unjust But there are two times when things (peoples) get gathered The first time is when the dead in Christ shall rise, Behold I show you a mystery! and the living are changed and scoot off the meet the lord in the air, blah blah blah... The second is the one Jesus talked about it happens on that merry olde Thief-in-the-Night day. One shall be taken one left, blah blah blah... but none of those people are dead, and it's not the gathering of the BODY I siuspect tares get gathered first etc,.... just as Jesus said,..... where's the problem? What am I missing here? edited to add those 2 I lumped as gatherings,... well neither of those is all dead people, so they can't be resurrections, you don't resurrect alive people.

Death is very much a part of the human condition. Everyone knows they shall die. I watched a man shoot a girl in the face once, she fell like a sack of potatoes. Some people delude themselves. Funerals are good for people in this sense. They remind you to not be a fool about death, that it's real. Killing and God. Now there's a subject people really avoid. Does he? Christians have come up with some elaborate ways to explain how God doesn't kill. The Way had a clever idiom, I don't buy it. When fire comes out of heaven and consumes,... who sends it? The Devil? Americans are sort of unique in the world as a people - how they see war, assisted death, they don't even like to kill their enemies. Other countries see you as weak fools for this. Not all, but quite a few. Americans are disdained because they have the best toys to deal death, yet they usually choose to be compassionate when they can. On the other hand America is loved by millions all over the world. well that's fading... mostly because no one sees you lasting much longer - because you're becomming corrupt like them. America used to be so honorable. God that was annoying. Sorry, I digress but it relates. What Roy put up and what you wrote, sirg, it's how death is viewed through the American Cultural filter today. Not everyone sees things the same way. Where do you two (or anyone else) want to go with this? Where's composer? I'd love to hear his take on this as well. Oh and, is death evil in and of itself?

I'd understand that,... but this is more of a Jimmy took Rosie's Ball kind of thing here. Did not! Did so! Did not,................ I hope standing out in the yard crying Nanny-Nanny-Boo-Boo works fer ya. -
}>>Yes Yes Yes !!!<<{ The tares have nothing to do with the gathering I know this topic is older, but someone bumped it and I'm glad Is this not beautiful? These are our brothers and sisters here being spoken of at the Resurrection of the Just. They were servants of God that did well, whom God judged just. They are not all Israelites many will come from the times before Israel - and many come from the times after the Gathering. They have a different kind of body than the one we will be getting. It's a terrestrial body rather than the celestial/spiritual one we will get. But God will give them eternal life and put His spirit in them. They will be saved. They are the children by adoption. They are precious to God and once "adopted", they are part of the family. This has always been God's plan for them. They will live on the third earth with the New Jerusalem. Ezek.37 [1] The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, [2] And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. [3] And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. [4] Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. [5] Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: [6] And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. [7] So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. [8] And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. [9] Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. [10] So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. [11] Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. [12] Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. [13] And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, [14] And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. The New Earth will not be the home of the sons and daughters of God by birth, though Jesus Christ will be responsible for it, so I except him. He will be there. the Lamb is the light of that world. Bride and Lamb together. But the body of Christ, God's spiritual children by birth,... He has other plans for us.

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.

James,... that thing about the crackhouse and civil neglect didn't have to do with your issue.... It was addressing a side-issue someone else had brought up in this thread. -

Roy,... What I quite like about you is that in all your posts that I have seen ~ you are without malice. I will freely admit I don't always understand the tangents you take, but this one I get. We believe with our hearts, and sometimes you can't neatly slice up the thing, and study it to death, and get it right. It reminds me of a person who sits down and has to have all the food on his/her plate arranged just perfectly so. maybe even the peas have to all be in little rows. A little boat has to be made in the middle of the mashed potatoes. The gravy has to be just so. Not too much,... not too little. And then he has to cut up all the meat to bite-sizes. Salt and pepper and butter for the peas and potatoes. The salad needs dressing the fork has to be just so. Bread and butter ~ do we need Jam?,... Jelly? By the time he's ready to eat, his dinner is cold. You can overdo this, and ruin something that should be enjoyable. What if the ice creame comes with chocolate syrup on it? The longer you spend trying to seperate the syrup the more the Ice Creame melts. You'd be fighting a losing battle. Roy I learn from a lot of your posts. Never give up my friend, you're far too important here. with love and a holy kiss, Katie

Events. tragic yes. But Aspergers,... Like I have. I'm bright enough to know that no two cases are exactly alike. The syndrome isn't like that. But I'm also quick enough to recognise me in the way you are talking now. It's the same - only different. Yanno? So here's what you don't want to hear. So here's what you need to be told.... Buck up. get some sleep before you go to far afield, and when tomorrow comes it'll be a new sucky day, but you'll most likely live through it. You already know all that, of course... If you ever need to talk PM me.

Well I'm just looking at his birth as a beginning for the sake of my conversation. But Once you have Christ seated at God's right hand,... in eternity. He can overlook the foundations of the earth with his Father. He isn't looking at things through a muddled metal mirror. One day, we won't either, we'll be like him. So this bears on us as well, and that bears on this thread. Time and I are only acquaintances. Between a masters in Fractal Mathematics and one in Quantum Physics my key scholastic interests lie in the way things work, which I think of in terms of "How did God do it all?",... creation, that is. So Christ was raised in a spiritual/celestial body that was able to travel through the heavens/heavenlies. We're going to get a body like this one day. One that can step outside of time and travel to God's side. One whose vision is unclouded. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. We are God's kids. A Baby seal (Pup) grows up to be a seal. A Baby bear (cub) grows up to be a bear. Everything after it's own kind? ...and we're godlets, lol. As God's kids, what do we grow up to be? We are God's Kids. and we're going to grow up.

One of the differences between God and Christ is that Jesus had a beginning. He was born. He grew up, died, and has been raised from the dead. He has everlasting life. -- He's not scheduled to die again. ~~~ I am NOT making any arguement for-or-against the Trinity here ~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But there's this verse (Heb 13:8) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. And (Malachi 3:6) For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons .... Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. ... And (Isaiah 57:15) For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. And (Deuteronomy 33:27) The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. And (Psalm 90:4) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. And (2 Peter 3:8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. And (Hebrews 10) 09 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If Christ inhabits eternity, at God's right hand, and in such a place as where Time is viewed - past, present and future, the one as-easily-as the next. In other words time is not a daily concern, things just >>are<< (without the filter of time to sift one day from the next). Would you not be able to see things from the past, as easily as from a "present" perspective, or even a future one? I mean, It shouldn't actually matter if the things happened before you were Born, If you were seated in Eternity, at God's right hand. Maybe I'm just too much of a Physicist here. Anyways. to go further on a discussion of the "gathering",... and Whats & Wheres - and the Whos and the Hows,..... I think the Whens should also be addressed. I mean, it isn't as though God left us ignorant on this. Maybe no one's ever really sought to really put this part together...? Adding for Clarity: -- If you were in Christ's position at God's right hand, couldn't you gain experiential knowledge of events which occured before you "began" to be? Couldn't you just watch (with your Father),... the past ~~~ as well as any other time?
