  1. Doesn't matter,.... you provided them, in that sense they're yours.
  2. Here here! I have to agree. Without that,... all of chockfull's definitions collapse. It's the necessarry common denominator.
  3. These all come from South Park of course....
  4. A Snapshot of the past ~ According to the Associated Press, the June, 1979 Power for Abundant Living “Advanced Class ‘79” held at the University of Ohio involved a contract covering the use of campus buildings calling for The Way to pay the university $728,000. Four thousand people reportedly registered for it, presumably bringing The Way gross receipts of more than $2,000,000.
  5. Although some "spiritual" people have been of the Honey & Locust crowd, living a very modest financial life. In doing so they place themselves in a position where believing God is required on a daily basis, just to get by - and to have enough to eat, and a safe place to sleep. Besides, the "starving preacher" thing brings in the donations. Some just play the role, and roll the dice: Momma needs a new pair of shoes,.... let's see if we can flex their generosity? Most preachers add in a little something, occasionally to show you how they're not rich (oh, no sir). It's always a struggle to get the right balance of rich and poor, blessed and cursed, good and evil.
  6. Oh,.... Well I'm sorry you two are doing that. I like both of you ~ even if you two don't.
  7. You're taking a dig at me for what reason chockfull? I've made it pretty clear in the past that I don't attend any sort of church.

I wouldn't be surprised if the idea there wasn't ripped off form someone else by Weirwille, re-packaged to meet his needs.
  10. That statement really nails it all down in one sentence. You really don't know. You really don't get it do you? And everywhere you go on the internet you run into this.... You really don't get it do you? And it's as plain on the noses on our faces to us, and has been to others for over a decade. But you don't get it. That's cool, don't listen,... I'm sure it'll never happen again - ever. The weird thing here James, is - no one here at GSC is out to hang you out to dry as you seem to suppose, we're just pointing to the obvious Maybe it's because it's obvious to everyone but you. maybe, after more than a decade, it's not a coincidence. And these "new people" they all keep coming to the same conclusions,.... how amazing!
  11. No,............. say it isn't so...... Not GINSU Steak knives TOO?!!!
  12. No Offense james, But a Peer Review Board of "its just me" sounds rather disingenuous. My work has to undergo Peer Review. It makes me smile to think of what would be said If I submitted that "just me" would be the Peer Review Board for my own work.
  13. Good point Tzaia! The thing is - as the Givees we could all see that in it's basic form, God wanted us to give. So we listen to teachings about it, and for the most part people that attend religious services - whether it's the Way or some other place you get involved with, we don't mind doing so, even when it's inconveniant for us to do so. There IS a natural response to god to be good and give... "For God so loved the world that he gave....." That was usually all I needed to know. But who to give it to? So many people laying a claim to spirituality out there would also like to lay 'exclusive claim' to your purse, your cheques, your credit cards,.... collect your e-mail adress to add you to a list of "potential givers" ------- "Feed Me!" I try to give to people who do things I think God would approve of, But not wanting to be fooled isn't it our responsibility to make sure we know that we're not simply feeding the fat and lazy that do little for God, but claim special godly knowledge and ways - that you should buy into? People who say - once you give it to me, it is a gift. And I'm not going to give. After all, I'm imparting special knowledge and Ways to you.
  14. Hahahahahaha!! Touche Bolshivik! JJ - i was cracking up at the title,... A few years back SciFi Channel (now syfy) premiered their show Battlestar Galactica,... leading up to it they showed the old network Series. I remember the Cylons would say "By your command". I also recalled the Wishmaster movies - "As you wish!" It's them,....... Evil heartless Cybermen (ala Dr. Who maybe too!) Give them your money or you might be "deteted!" "THEY" love your money!
  15. Abraham gave tithes..... and so it began, but the world lives for several thosands of years before Moses wrote God's laws and Israel was established as a nation. During their times the Levites faithfully collected tithes. There were certain things they were supposed to do with what they received, but at times they lived in arrogance (like in Eli's time) they wanted the "fat". Today it is rare that we give anything but currency as a "tithe", so if you get someone that loves money in charge of collecting it there's going to be trouble. God asked for all the tithes and offerengs to be brought to His house. But he had certain expectations of the Levites, that what was collected beyond their needs would be used to help His people, not simply cement the infrastructure of the priesthood. Our reason for giving to those who collect, is often misunderstood by the people collecting the fat. Many of them have an entirely different mindset than you or I have. They read certain verses and the point they take away from them is often, how they have a God-given right to ten percent or more of what you have in life. They don't understand that collecting money and storing it up is counter to believing that God will provide, and in doing so, they neglect their sheep, and come to think of them as mutton to churn out the grist of life for them - money. When "God's House" is full, when the bank account is well-padded, and you, as a leader are doing well,... well, then it's time to look after the sheep. If you fail to do that - you're a lousy shepard, no matter how much you think you're doing for God. You're demanding something from someone else that you refuse to do yourself, thinking that God will supply all "their" needs, and forgetting that one way for this to happen is to open the door to "His House".
  16. ...muzzle the Ox that treads the Corn... That's how it's done in the cornfield. You want a swimming pool? Maybe a nice sailboat... a sailboat would be nice, wouldn't it? a nice house? Oh, c'mon we need to use the ABS for the truly important things. So,... nothing's changed really. The Way doesn't pay anyone fairly enough to buy a house. I mean, a mortgage is out of the question, and a lifetime of service isn't enough to buy even a modest house. Suppose you had a house. Someone would come up with the bright idea that you didn't need a house to live, and that you should sell it and give the money to the Way (not folow RR's example). I thought it was strange that the said mortgages were "debt",... so to be debt free you had to sell your house and rent, in which case you owed the landlord once a month, and had nothing to show for it at the end. Really backwards thinking. So what do you do if God blesses you? give it all away and ask fo more? What is the point to that Way of Abundance? Ping-Pong with God?
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96kwILL35ig Oh, ho, ho It's magic, you know, Never believe it's not so It's magic, you know, Never believe, it's not so Never been awake, Never seen a day break Leaning on my pillow in the morning, Lazy day in bed Music in my head, Crazy music playing in the morning light Oh, ho, ho It's magic, you know, Never believe it's not so It's magic, you know, Never believe, it's not so I love my sunny day, Dream of far away Dreaming on my pillow in the morning Never been awake, Never seen a day break Leaning on my pillow in the morning light Oh, ho, ho It's magic, you know, Never believe it's not so It's magic, you know, Never believe, it's not so Oh, ho, ho It's magic, you know, Never believe it's not so It's magic, you know, Never believe, it's not so
  18. well with one exception, no matter how much money (if you want to equate that with God's favor) a person has, they all die. And "death is sickness in part or in whole". So what's the lesson,.... all rich people are evil, Some are. Some are really, really evil. Some aren't. Let's recap on How easy it is for a rich man to go to heaven, shall we? Like either a Rope or a Camel going through the eye of a needle,.... so NOT,.... right? So Joseph (in the Old testament) is Surely going to Hell..... You can twist this stuff around nine ways to Sunday, But the truth is I'm just going to follow Jesus' example regardless. Love God, do the best I know how to do in this life to keep his words, and place all my trust in the fact that God loves me and looks after me all the time. When People are mean to me, I still try to be nice. I'm richer now (money-wise) than I ever thought I would be. That verse about a rich person not going to heaven weighs on me a lot sometimes,... sorry. Still it beats getting sent all over the world to get shot AT. hELL,... i DUNNO.....
  19. God's always been there. He's right where He's always been, and He knows exactly what He's doing all the times! No one owns God. God doesn't live where people tell Him to, although some people like to claim him as the household pet.... >grin< People that seek God will always find Him, don't worry, it's not like He's going to abandon you. God gave us freedom of choice, that is very important to Him....... <big grin> ...sometimes we are very good at keeping Him busy with our choices, but he sure does love his kids, and the ones that sure love Him and care deeply about their walk with Him - are what this whole creation thing is all about to Him. ~ fear not ~
  20. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,........... Ya'mean like dis?
  21. How do traditions begin? lol in the CESpool sorta like that.... It's that First Century church - yanno Didn't VPW say He was gonna run the church like it hadn't been run since the first century? And they learned from him, so naturally - now that they realize the "1st Century WAY" thewy can see that it's time once again - in our day and time - to start doing a few revisions. Oh those lost originals,.... they had all those copyists coming in after them. naughty copyists, thaey all added that verse! Which verse next? Let's make a list....
  22. Hahaha My sister's girl - my neice - turns 15 soon. I reminded her that in Florida she can get a Learner's Permit Driver's License, or whatever they call it. I mentioned that I could buy her a car. Sis said,... "She might learn. I might teach her, but she ain't gettin' no new car! laughed and hung up on me...... Some people! :)
  23. Well you know,... after you eat all the food in the can, you throw out the tin. Just saying,... Lin-tin-tin.....! I wonder how "disposable" he is..... And RR's what,... 70? well that Battery can't be re-charged, everyone should be thinking about taking a # at Da Vey!
  24. We research (study) the Bible for ourselves. Our own desire to know More of God. Of course this is something God encourages us to do throughout the Bible. So your wanting-to-do-it, is a good thing. There's an invisible line though between seeking God's approval, and simply seeking the approval of others. If you can say that what you're studying brings you closer to God, and you're doing your honest best before Him, you're going to enjoy doing it, and God is going to reward you. You are the only one that can cross that invisible line. Seeking the approval of others. When you study the Bible to recieve the accolades of others, when that becomes your motivation, you have begun wasting your time, and you'll rapidly lose sight of that very special relationship you could be building with God. In Order to help us, we have an example in Christ Jesus to follow: what he did, how he acted and the things that he said are a great place to begin. He showed us how. So "too far" is when you stop working on your walk with God, and start working on other people's walks with God. The goal you should set, is to increase the love that you have for God, and learn from that, how to love others and yourself. That's why I study. It doesn't mean you can't have fun,.. or that you can't hang out with friends, or crack jokes and enjoy life. Nor does it mean everyone will love you, but the people who are also doing their best to love God are learning this too, and we learn to love one another and forgive one another. In short, we Imitate God, and his son Jesus Christ. We learn the difficult things we need to know, so that we can avoid trouble and have a better life. Maybe I'm just simple in this regard, but anyone who loves God, is learning a great lesson. One that they can apply in all of their everyday life.
  25. It'll be easy for the next HOGFODAT or MOGFODAT, because Rosie has never actually done anything very notable.
