Elton John - Your Song "Well she was just seventeen and you know what I mean" -
The title is "Dead Flowers". It's actually a very melodic sing-along type country song. The Stones do great country.

Nope. Here's line two: "She tried to take me upstairs for a ride" -
Well, since it is a fairly obscure song (it was rarely played on the radio), I'll provide two more lines: Take me down little Susie, take me down I know you think you're the queen of the underground

Nope. Should I post another line? -
How many lines are we supposed to post? Is the the object to try and stump everyone? I'll start with this: When you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon And another girl will take my pain away

Hah! :) It doesn't make sense to me either. We rarely discussed religion and politics (although she did tell me a lot about life at TWI). We were at opposite ends of the spectrum in both areas.
-
Actually, we've had deep philosphical discussions about "luck" -- good and bad. She doesn't believe in it -- or random events, either. She seems to believe that people who succumbed to terrible fates (such as earthquakes, cancer, murder, etc.) might not have ended up the way they did if they had been sufficiently "on the Word". And I would usually change the subject at that point.

She doesn't set up a Christmas tree, either. I thought it was cuz she was lazy.
-
So...tell me. You know of this practice? To tell you the truth, she has lovely kids. The wooden spoon thing must have worked. :)
-
Where did the wooden spoon thing come in? She spoke of wooden spoons.

This is a great song, I don't care what anyone says...

Terribly lip-synched, but still a great song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev3bWmOG3Gg

My decision to not take that class in 1983 marked a huge crossroads in my life. Sometimes I regret not taking it, but mostly I don't. On balance, I tend to believe that it was probably for the better that I did not take it, but who knows? I'll probably spend the rest of my days wondering how my life would have unfolded -- for better or worse -- if I had decided to take the class and go Wow with her that year. It would have been different, that's for sure.
