I've heard this before on this forum and the thought is ludicrous. First of all, who would Eve have been a lesbian with? I heard that they used to recruit women to "service" him before a big speech or presentation. I didn't read that on this forum, I was told by the only ex-Wayfer I personally know.

Memories of George, off the top of my head... He was successful in alienating Yogi Berra for 14 years. He was successful in ruining baseball. High-priced free agents are the reason you probably can't afford to go to more games than you do. He was suspended by Bowie Kuhn in the 1970s because he was convicted of making illegal political campaign contributions. He was banned from baseball in the late 1990s by Fay Vincent for hiring a small-time gambler to dig up dirt on Dave Winfield. He fired Yankee manager Dick Howser after winning 102 games or so in 1980 because the Yankees had a bad start the following year. Some guy in an elevator made a crack about the Yankees after they lost the 1981 WS. George got into a tussle with them and ended up getting hit upside the head (ha ha!) Oh yeah, he put together the best teams money could buy (even if they weren't always).

Since I believe I got Waysider's song correctly, I'll take the liberty of going... "City girls just seem to find out early" -

No it is not. :) Great song. The first version I ever heard (and the definitive one, IMO) was by the Jeff Beck Group. The song is called "Tonight I'll be Staying Here With You" by Bob Dylan. -

I always hated the bastard. He was an a$$ -- a real SOB -- and he did not treat people well. Bye George ~

George guessed "The Godfather" earlier, which is incorrect. It is actually "The Godfather Part 2" I wasn't trying to trick anyone. FREE POST!

Well, that's what bulwinkl said in the OP anyway. But it don't matter none to me. It doesn't look like anyone's gonna guess my song so here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcMv1Nluy0w&feature=related At one time, I thought LR was absolutely the hottest woman alive. FREE POST! -
Continuing to celebrate 1979...

That Gerry Rafferty song just happened to come on the car stereo on my way home from work tonight, no joke. (I'm listening to pop hits from 1978-79 the past few days.) It made me think of my 21st birthday when I went out and got trashed and puked all over the place. I woke up in my car (an AMC Gremlin) in the Roosevelt Field Mall parking lot -- just in time for work, as luck would have it (but I "called in sick" anyway). This is one of my favorites from 79...

I just realized that this isn't the first line of the song. (But it is the first line of the first verse.) The song opens with a chorus (which is the song title) so I'll hold off before giving it away. -
Or if you like Pink Floyd's "Us and Them", apparently. :)
