  1. Good question. I will say this much: westcott and hort we're unbelievers who believed in evolution and did not believe in the atoning works of Jesus Christ. They were not honest in how they put their version together either.
  2. Lmao. ... Yeah....your not the only one who fell asleep on Shelby County Rd....Joe did that the most outta anyone back then...lmao
  3. I would say that's a fair assessment. In order to survive on the cabinet as long as he did he has mastered twi politics. And at the cabinet level those politics are ugly. If given the choice between himself and another of jumping in front of a train John would push the guy next to him and use the resistance to jump back. My man is a survivor.
  4. I worked for him for a few years before going on the cabinet and was close to him on some levels. Personally, I've always liked John. He's too vested in two to ever break free though.
  5. I've read most of it and have a digital copy...same with Book of Adam and Eve. I haven't given too much thought if it's God-breathed or not but it definitely will broaden ones perspective.
  6. He definitely follows along and is likely somewhat sympathetic on non-doctrinal issues.
  7. Cool...I will watch this and comment! Thanks!!!!
  8. Administration/dispensationalism is a false doctrine incorporated into Christianity by John nelson Darby. I mention it here in light of the Canon cause u said it best Waysider!
  9. Quit bringing up vpws bs and I won't have to sharpen my axe. Processing just fine...your posts are mostly remedial because u quote vpw who was extra remedial. Personally, I feel you are quite intelligent.
  10. Im guessing you can fit 41,423 angels on the head of a pin.
  11. I wanna float a concept here and get it into the docket of discussion: The oldest manuscripts are not the most reliable.
  12. I agree 110% The way I see it, if we actually have the bona-fide Word of God then it will stand up to scrutiny, research, critiscism, etc. In fact, believers should be even more dilligent in our efforts to test what we call scripture. I know for me, my former fundamentalist ways blinded me to the real truth. The Bible is not what I thought it was. Without understanding the history of how we got the Bible, and without realizing it is a vast literary work from various and sundry authors from around a 1500 (dont hold me to that number) year time period, without understanding that it has stories, history, literary devices, literary elements, poetry, eastern symbolism, Hebraic figures of speech, etc then there's little hope of ever truly understanding what is written or how to "rightly divide it" - to quote King James here. We are told to study to show ourselves approved unto God - so obviously we know going in there's gonna be some wrangling - mental or otherwise. But to summarize - Believers should be extremely dilligent to prove what is written. Im not opposed to the idea that the Bible is not the Word of God of it's own but contains the Word of God interspersed throughout various author's contributions. We are fellowworkers with God after all. Oh - and God Almighty actually credits the authors he chooses to receive his Word.
  13. You give us little choice because you won't go beyond what he has taught you. Meaning, and personally, I would love to just get into scripture and chop it up so we both learn and understand more than when we started. It's difficult to do that with you because you almost immediately run to what wierwille says, instead of what scripture plainly says at times. My 2 cents anyway.
  14. Well. Mike, Im gonna move over to that Canon thread. We can agree to disagree. Really, theres nothing wrong with that and it's healthy in relationships. I have enjoyed the conversation though!
  15. My apologies, accusing you of lying wasn't my intent at all. Mike - I sometimes wonder if we were demoralized by wierwille's behaviour and from being in a cult that constantly pushed the boundaries. One pretty consistent trait of demoralized people is you can put truth right in front of them and they will choose the reality they live in from being demoralized. I incluse myself at the top of this somewhat off topic speculation.
  16. Your basically saying it had to be a vision because it doesn't fit with the what vic taught you.
  17. Scrambling it seems. Mike - I am keying off the post you are acting like you cant find: its on page 24. Don't search too hard there buddy.
  18. Nah. Use your research keys...the word interprets itself...right...where it is...written. Biblical words used according to biblical usage...heard a voice....says what it means and means what it says sir. This is a really clear verse so hard to understand verses can be understood in this light.
  19. Mike - Paul was blinded and it plainly says when he heard Christ's voice he fell on the ground. He didn't have a vision. It was an audible voice and those with him heard it. So much for in-spirit action to only Paul. Your speculations are wrong. Perhaps he told Agrippa he saw a vision because he would lose audience if he told Agrippa Christ was talking to him...but that's speculation. Acts 9:7,8 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. 8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
  20. You don't accept the KJV Bible either unless ... you know....let's just leave it with you accept wierwille and he is your guiding light.
  21. Thats all they have, sad as it may be. They have been a wierwille preservation society since Craig was fired.
  22. Yeah - they are reaching out to way corps they ran off, etc etc. There's kind of a nostalgic effort to reclaim the glory years by including those who were un-invited from TWI and also by doing the things that used to work -- especially aimed at young people. Young adult rock comes to mind.
