I marvel your still stuck on the same hamster wheel for 50 years now.

I agree. Scripture has a lot of directives and such but scripture points to God/Jesus Christ and a relationship with them. Not to worship a book in a circular type fashion. It confuses the heck outta things.
-
Looking back at the Old Testament, God had an entire culture setup on the Torah/Mosaic Law. Moving into Christianity there are plenty of directives given in scripture that Christians are to follow. Does everyone have the same intrepretation? No. Does that change whats written? No. Wierwille tried to keep us enthralled to his TV Dinner version of fake Christianity. So what does it take? Folks to agree to live whats written. Becausse many can't make it work or make it fit doesn't make God any less capable to give us his ways to live by. Ive found that most scripture is pretty straight forward and easy to understand as written. I still do my best to live according to scripture. Many directives come straight out the Church epistles. Because wierille had a bastardized version doesnt mean he gets to overthrow my trust in God with his error and that did happen for a while. But I have rebounded better than ever. Ive found that cutting all the organizations out the way and keeping my relationship with God/Christ a personal matter with no oversight by cult leaders the best way to go.

Now that would be a literal according to usage....

There's plenty examples of conflict...
-
Yes, but then there's the fact that not every Church will actually use scripture in conflict resolution. Then there's the mega Churches based on property and word of faith preachers...but any illustration has its limitations. Raf raised some good points.

I probably could have worded it a little better, but by Church I mean the body of Christ and more specifically people. To address the potential issues you mention, I would have to say that conflict resolution within various organizations could be a multi-faceted affair. Meaning, not all Churches (as in actual organizations) follow scripture or are even meek to one another. Yes, scripture is pretty clear on how to handle conflict and disagreements in most places, so I would agree that the first stop anyone should make in seeking potnetial resolution would be scriipture. Im more honed in on what the way international taught that we arent even to praise Jesus in any way, or pray to him, or to fellowship with him in any manner but God only. Obviously, scripture is clear and in direct opposition to TWI - as usualy...anywho. So in many ways my point is individuals having a relationship with Jesus Christ was forbidden by TWI and the book of Acts clearly shows interaction as recorded. So, I guess the obvious question becomes did Christ stop interacting with his Church? Does he still have the capacity to appear to people as happened to Saul on the road to Damascus? More later, I wanna think things through a little too. Thanks for responging and also thanks for it being a thoughtful response.

Excuse me, this was in relation to word of faith...sorry bout that.

Being occultic in nature I doubt the concepts will trace to one source of origin, however, I feel Cyrus Scofield is a key character in propagation through the notes in his study bible.

Ive stated copious time where Im coming from, and I don't think our disagreement is stark. As I stated earlier, a physically, flesh and blood, sandal and tunic wearing Jesus is not here, so fair enough. Scripture teaches he was changed, ascended, and is present in his Lordship, directing the affairs of his Church. According to scripture, that long laundry list I did in Acts for example, shows copious direct interaction. Given you are at a place where you don't believe scripture, I wouldnt expect you to believe those accounts either, and thats not an issues with me. Its a doctrinal point we disagree on , though we aren't too far an accord. I no longer feel the need to rush in and make an issue out of how anyone feels regarding scripture. Personally, I feel that we are on the path we are walking and that path may be completely different from the path other's are on. In my own life, I had about an 8 year run where I didnt believe much else besides happy hour started at 4 at my favorite bar. Im a much happier person now that I can actually do what the way international forbids, and in large part what I think mike struggles with the most, and that is accept people's positions and beliefs that are different from mine and still treat them with love and respect! Rock on Raf!

You mean reading the same thing over and over again still says the same thing? Whoda thunk!

Poker Face is my favorite, hands down! I like the song, which you wouldnt think I would if you knew me in person being a rather burly individual. But the work on the video edit took some skill and the comments....creepy guy, not gonna happen, and sassy...Im literally belly laughing... I was in residence with dancing monkey boy and all I gotta say is this couldnt have happened to a better person. The guy had an ego the size of Texas and really thought he could dance with the stars. I think he basically learned to dance watching cheesy MTV type dance instructional videos. Back then he was a complete putz. Don't know about now, so hes likely grown up a bit.

I escaped Gunnison by a hairs breadth...was close for sure.

I wasnt referring to the content of what he put together, but merely the ethical decision to disclose that it was cobbed together. Content is an entirely different subject becuase obviously most of what he cobbed together occultic error..

Did VPW think he understood the Bible better than the writers?

Which is the only reason I quote scripture in relation to the way international is to show how they say they apply scripture but when u compare...yeah...they def. don't. -

Not according to scripture, scripture states that God has dealt the same amount to every believer and we shouldnt think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think. However, according to wierwille, he was the most gifted, most athletic, most intelligent and had the strongest believing of anyone else. Martindale said the same crap regarding himself. In fact, it was a paragraph or two in the old class coordinators manual for the way of abundance and power that stated as much. -

Good point, that was all part of the sales schtik to get students in the net. -
I wonder if victor paul wierwille had obtained an actual accredited doctorate that he would have been able to figure out that Jesus Christ being changed and ascended is not the same thing as absent.

I distinctly remember them saying that their research methods are based on inductive reasoning. And I distinctly remember at other times the way international saying that scripture isn't subjective but objective because it intreprets itself. -

Arguments can certainly be made for and against each item you listed. But therein lies the problem. All this knowledge of good and evil thing and the war thats still being waged between God and satan come down to two basic factors: Does one want to live God's way with boundaries set in place for decency, love, and order or does one want to live Lucifers ways of there is no sin or boundaries and one can do whatever they will, because do what thoug wilt shall be the whole of the law. I understand that's broad and extremely overgeneralized and I phrased it that way on purpose because I really don't want to get into various discussions that would ensue if I were any less general. My 2 cents anyways.
