Similarities with the secular MLM world, cults in their own right.

I watched this video last night and it helped me to understand that the way international is a prosperity gospel based, name it and claim it mega-church. Yes, they have waned significantly due to extremely poor leadership but it is what it is.

Here's a couple off-topic rabbit holes to explore: Darby changed scripture: (Scofield incorporated Darby's changes into the Scofield Study Bible, which in turn became the default Bible for many seminaries) Be forewarned: Perloff covers political zionism in this article and there's some rather disturbing pics and what not towards the bottom of the page. https://jamesperloff.com/tag/john-nelson-darby/ https://www.libertytothecaptives.net/darby_doctrinal_changes.html https://www.libertytothecaptives.net/occult and masonic modern bible versions_architect.html https://libertytothecaptives.net/darbychrist_newage.html As did Westcott and Hort: https://av1611.com/kjbp/charts/themagicmarker.html -

I can certainly see and appreciate the parallells. The way you sound to me...the way Mike sounds to me...you guys both sound like me. Ive stumbled at wierwille's doctrines and was blinded from scripture by them. Ive been to the point that I didn't believe it anymore. I moved to Cincinnati, made an entire new set of friends and never told anyone I was involved in the way international, was way corps, I tried to hide it all and ditch it all. Ive cast all things aside having to do with scripture, cults, etc. Then I tried to drink myself to death and tried commiting suicide a dozen other ways during that time. When I was done destroying myself I turned to Christ. That I am sitting here typing to you is nothing short of a miracle. Do I expect you to change your position based on my experiences? No. Do I expect anyone to change their positions? No. Im simply sharing my life and what Im learning and if that's helpful to anyone then so be it, if not, so be it. Yes, I let mike push my buttons, what can I say Im a work in progress. But behind my profile is a guy who has been reassembled by the power of God to the extent that my uncle who has been in AA for 35 years has no frame of reference for what has occured with me and he has sponsored countless people over the years. I guess it's a bit different for me at this stage in my life after losing everything, literally, except my life. And then coming back from the brink better than I was ever in my life. Raf, my goal is not to change you or what you believe. Ive stated before that Im alright with people being where they are with things...no judgement here. Im the last to judge because I have been an absolutely horrible person, except I have ceased from all of that and am enjoying peace for the first time ever. Obviously, I want to share with others my relationship with God. But im over forcing it, or judging anyone down...all that mess. Id rather love and respect people and do whatever I can to better them and myself in the process. Myabe that means opening a door for someone at the corner store. Maybe that means carrying someone's groceries to the car. Perhaps it means giving money to homeless people...or trying to help other alcoholics. Im happy, finally happy. -

Or, conversely, if we lived at the same time as the gospel writers and Paul we very may have been their disciples. Im not sure there is much you've posted that I havent heard before regarding scripture. I am interested in references if you have some, I try and follow all angles. My faith remains steadfast in God and his ability to have his will recorded in written form and I believe that is in the Bible. Ive never been closer to God/Christ than I am today. Peace! -

Im not sure too much of anything is entirely accurate. The video I shared is one in a long list of sources Im working on the topic. If theres no interest to discuss it here, I will likely just keep it pushing and keep my study to myself. I do with most topics anyways. Inaccuracies can be identified and worked further, but the video does provide verifiable sources and such. No I havent checked all the sources yet and many times I do. Cheers! My goal isn't doctrinal perfection or perfection of anysort really. Those are fundamentalist ideals that don't mesh very well with most avenues in life, especially the Bible. I simply try to get a fairly accurate glimpse on a particular topic and keep it moving because I always learn more later on down the line. -

I agree. Ive known Bolsh for 23 years or so and we were on staff together in the same cabinet area. He's been treated pretty rough in his upbringing by folks who meant well but were using the TWI approach to child raising..I know I am still figuring out life post TWI and I wasnt raised in that mess thankfully so I had a frame of reference outside the cult. Folks raised in TWI don't have that vantage point so it can be much harder to get it sorted out. -
Promised Relief: Broken Promises from the Way International

She most definately was and her and donna were using craig as a proxy and pushing through policy when he was prez, such as the no debt policy. I always keep in mind with rosalie that she hated all the changes since martindale was ousted. That would leave a rather long list of changes she would rather have kept in place. Pregnancy policy No debt policy Staff working on a need basis Mandatory STS attendance or else Mandatory noon meal attendance....etc...I think you guys get the point. When she made that statement she left no qualifiers, such as: I cant stand the changes weve had to make since martindale but....X policy caused Y and were better without it...nothing of the sort...just mad she had lost much of her control. People, generally speaking, had no idea how badly she wanted to micromanage. When she was department coordinator of way publications she set a bathroom policy for staff to sign in and out (indicating the time they left and the time they returned) to go use the restroom. She was sick...but they all were.... -

Then the three hour video should interest you. I was showing historically where reason was elevated above all else and by whom. Yes it was a cult during the French revolution and yes they had a idol made to the goddess of reason. Deism is anti-Christian as was Thomas Paine and Benjamin Franklin. Look, I took this topic left and out of respect for Raf and the on topic discussion I'm bowing out with my off topic discourse. I'm happy to banter onwards in another thread. Meanwhile, I was enjoying reading along as the topic was developing so let's get back to that. We can rip to shreds the video I posted elsewhere. -

Fair enough on the cow patty. Now you are telling me what I am doing, when I am not. I provided links and a video. Those who want to take investigate what I am saying can do so. In the meantime carry on. I really don't have a dog in the race when it comes to proving the Bible is whatever you wanna say it is or isnt. I approach scripture from an attitude of reverence and faith because to me it is God's Word. That its not that for you is up to you really, scripture states of itself it is spiritually discerned. So naturally scripture becomes foolishness without God to teach. Do you believe there is a God? Or that he is capable of communicating with his creation? Anywho. Ive derailed you guys enough. Peace! -

No, it would require reading history during the french revolution. Your criteria that the Bible is a cow patty is based on reason alone is it not? So I am endeavoring to show that reason alone is not the supreme answer. But none of that matters to you because being objective likely isnt in the cards. You have a point to prove so go ahead and prove it. It certainly doesnt require my participation. This is your dog and pony show, im just passing through my friend. Peace! -

Obviously, you haven't watched the video or even googled what I am talking about. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_of_Reason https://www.encyclopedia.com/religion/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/reason-cult-goddess Nobody said reason shouldn't be valued, it shouldn't be overvalued at the expense of all else. -

OldSkool replied to Raf's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
Ahh...yes....reason. We have been taught since grade school to revere reason above all else. Well, our founding fathers essentially reasoned God out of the equation. Reason is a cult in it's own right and during the french revolution deists made an idol to the goddess of reason. Its not conspiracy, it's history. Anywho: Here's a link for those interested. Peace! -
