I can substantiate this from experience. I got involved when I lived in Hollywood years before the way international. I spent many dollars in sessions at The Church of Scientology in LA to become "clear." Do cults share the same handbook?

I had never considered how underhanded a move this really was. I guess my conscience had been conditioned to accept stuff like this as "God-inspired." Anyways, you can really see the snake like qualities that woman has mastered. To come into a room full of innocent subordinates and lay the blame at their feet is twisted. Especially since she outright lied to the way ministry by saying she did not know that Martindale was busy with extramarital affairs, even though court documents show that she knew as early as 1995. But for the way corpse folks present to take that crap, and I would have taken it at one time too so I speak from hind-sight, just shows how ingrained the mind control really is in the "way corpse household." You can almost see the self-condemnation, guilt ridden, fear induced reactions ripple across the room. There are many that sit at Rosalie's feet and consider her pronunciations to be from revelation, inspiration, and energized ministries - and as such - to be taken with the utmost regard in considering how it applies to themselves. After-all, she is the woman of God - even though she does not make that claim of herself, I have never seen her act contrary. She expects strict obedience from followers and especially the way corpse. I digress. It's a shame they are blinded to the cold, cunning calculations she undertakes to position herself seemingly blameless and worthy to lead the way international. I assume that is what it was all about at that time. Then there are those who no doubt sat there and thought - "BULL$#!t" I eventually became one of those folks as I started for the door...anyways. I used to see the hypocrisy and chalk it up to human frailty. As if the hypocrisy and blatant evil were accidental. Then I starting telling myself that it was changing for the better. Then I started telling myself that I could change it as my generation came into it's own. Then I went on the cabinet and saw for myself that Rosalie and Donna run the way international, that the other directors do EXACTLY what Rosalie tells them and little more, that the presidents cabinet have no meaningful authority unless you are authorized by Rosalie to move on something, that the only ones who last are those who mold themselves in Rosalie's image and ingratiate themselves doing just as she says. The people she has promoted and have lasted any length of time either know too much to fire or are completely convinced that the way ministry is the best in the world and they need not change what Rosalie has started but refine it. Then I grabbed my family and hauled a$$ out of there! That place is corrupt and it will remain corrupt after Rosalie is mercifully put out to pasture. That which is crooked cannot be made straight. OldSkool exits soap box and resumes normal Saturday morning activities.

Aww shucks. I loved those two.. Looks like Shift came by here and got all those nasty debil sprrts stirred up. That's what my old way brain would say anyway. It's a long hard road realizing that you think you are in the "true" household of God only to find out you have been systematically brainwashed into propagating a multi-level marketing based cult. All the best Shift - hopefully something that was said here can begin your awakening process.

I thought I would start a thread that had the main events that catalyzed, or perhaps catabolized - depending on ones viewpoint , the new way international we hear so much about from those who are still with them. Hopefully, some of you will remember other events but the some of the main ones follow - at least the ones I remember Rosalie did a way corpse meeting teaching that eventually became "Spokesman for God" This teaching was all about biblical confrontation, being kind and loving to one another, restoring one another .... ya you get the idea. Rosalie confronted the way corpse at the 2000 advanced class special in Dallas Texas. She blamed the way corpse for not speaking up and confronting Craig Martindale for his loud and abusive ways and also for not confronting him about his philandering ways. Nice, eh? The teaching formats for the Way Magazine and especially the Sunday Teaching Service were tightly re-constructed and reigned in. Basically, all personality, Greek words, yelling, animation, jokes, tangents, etc, ad naseum, ad infinitum was washed from all teaching outlets. It was taught and enforced all through the way tree. Soon I will post what it is like putting a teaching together for a STS - the CliffsNotes: It sucks. From these efforts those who yelled at others were dealt with. It is pretty much not in-vogue anymore to run the corn field cult like a football camp. Living God's Word as a Family was made and released. This is where they finally get around to condemning adultery and other inappropriate sexual behavior. I would say that adultery is also not in-vogue anymore in the way international. Although it still happens. When it is discovered it is dealt with pretty quickly. Perhaps it's me, but with the exception of fixing the "adultery is acceptable traditions" that were passed down from Da Vicster, do these changes seem just a wee-bit superficial?

I love the logic here. Shift, you basically turn around and blame the victims and then back-peddle so you don't really appear to be doing that. Nice. Real nice.

The "new" ac syllabus was watered down quite a bit but, in hind sight, was just as ridiculous.

Hey Shift. Tell me this, am I lying? are my allegations baseless? Am I accusing Rosalie the way Jesus was accused?

I get a laugh how you guys in the way international like to decide who "wants the word." It's the goodness of God that leads a person to repentance and that is shown by unconditional love. But you guys make these judgements about who wants what because based on how quick someone falls into obedience to the way internationals mandates. Egads. And I used to be the same way when I was in der veg. As you are I once was.

Because I spent 8 years at international, and two at gunnison. I know them and how they are even though you have no idea what Rosalie and Donna are really like. Go ahead and believe the facade they present to the the rank and file believers. It's easier for folks that have their entire life centered around the way international. I used to be that way, so I can understand.
