Well, Ham, Brass symbolizes ...insert bullshido reason here... so that people coming to hear da werd will be ...insert bullshido reason here... When you understand it from the original it's really a tremendously wonderful witness.
-
Ya, uhhh, Ham...do you have a minute?
-
Why you ask? Because farmers always use brass. and it rhymes with crass and a$$ - qualities the ole' "farmer" really spayshulized in
-
OMG! It's the MOMOG (Motercycle of the Man of God) - now that's extra spayshul. But it's not the MOHOGDAFAT!

Also, this was why I posted the info. They talk so much about how good they are at taking care of things. And to their credit, they do well at maintaining appearances. But from a professional perspective they get straight F's! And the failures are not without consequence because the longer something decays the more likelihood it will need extensive repairs or outright replaced.

:anim-smile: Ya, they changed them to blue at some point. Perhaps it was with Craig's new advanced class? They have white lettering. :anim-smile:

You're welcome. I think it also underscores the ineptness of the "officers/executives (read Rosie / Donna)" running the place. There are some talented people who know what to do but aren't allowed to do it.

ohhh....it was such a pretty blue...

ROFL!!

Oh, I know it's crazy. Let's let the infrastructure fall apart but shine the brass. The electrical project is the tip of the ice berg. HQ is in bad shape.

In my time with the way international I vividly remember the emphasis placed on stewardship, and to take it out of way speak, let's call it routine maintenance. To sum it up the way ministry strains out the gnat and swallows the camel. The best I understand the culture of that saying is gnats would get in the wine and they would strain out the tiny little guys using their teeth. It means they strain over the smallest details in other's lives but are willing to let the largest of details go in their own. Ok - routine maintenance. We were taught that God places the utmost importance on how well we took care of our stuff. Here's the kicker. The facilities that comprise Headquarters and Camp Gunnison are in terrible shape. Why? Because deferred maintenance is how they take care of their stuff. Deferred maintenance, in facilities management circles, could be summed up as if it ain't broke don't fix it. That is NOT stewardship, that is NOT routine maintenance. Organizations that know how to take care of their stuff will hire a facilities manager to implement routine maintenance programs from the day the facility opens it's doors. It is very inexpensive compared to deferred maintenance. The results of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" are exponentially higher for obvious reasons. Here is a prime example: In 2000 the primary electric loop at headquarters failed. The board of trustees knew it was "leaking voltage" years before it happened. The reason they did not fix it was it wasn't broken. When it failed it was pandemonium. HQ was w/o power for several days, save what the Y2K generators provided. Of course they stroked themselves on spending the exorbitant amount of time and money on the Y2K fiasco. It took several years to get the system completely replaced. God know the opportunity cost incurred by leaving it to fail. Now for the spin. During the advanced class in 2000 headquarters was a mess. It was a giant jobsite which the directors hate, even though it would lead by example demonstrating physical maintenance. Anyways, I was in the food line and the secretary treasurer at the time gave a sharing on your abundant sharing a work. He spent a few minutes explaining the electrical project and finished that portion of the sharing by saying "we are doing this project because we take care of things." I almost choked on my tongue. He blatantly lied and said that was a planned project that was part of routine maintenance. Well, fast forward a few years and the cabinet and department coordinators were expected to have backlogs of projects and other maintenance related projects in place. Don't you know a vast majority of those projects were consistently shot down by the directors? Well, a picture is worth a thousand words. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Well, Howard has managed to bill himself as a "pillar in the Church." He has been at Headquarters since the late 50's or early 60's...someone know how long?...I forget and I digress. Anyways, Howard is considered an "expert" on running HQ and Gunnison. And also an encyclopedia of institutional memory. I've got to say that he is about as hillbilly as it gets in his facility management ways. For example, I was in a meeting where one of the projects discussed was re-roofing the chalet Annex. In an effort to save money Howard suggested roofing only half of it and coming back the following year to roof the other half. Need I say more? When I was around he was in all the director group meetings. The director group is the 5 board of directors plus Donna and Howard. In an institution that is led by incompetents the guiding light is mostly what have we done before. They call it accumulated wisdom. Had a director actually say that to me before. So you can see Howard telling all the history of how Dr. Wierwille planted this particular oak tree by the light of the full moon wearing a toga to....ya it's that lame.

Well, household words in the one true household...

He wasn't a farmer. He was a country bumpkin preacher turned cult leader. By his own admission he wasn't $%!+

Oh, I was swimming in kool-aide at the time. I really believed the lies that said being fully instructed meant you could operate all 9. Plus, it was where I could go way duhsciple and become wqay corpse... Great post. And a great, big ole' YUP!

Yes! And don't forget that you are sent to the end of the line when you screw up. Remember the concept of losing rewards? Like we work real hard and then when we mess something up, or God forbid leave the way international, all of our previous efforts and accumulated reward are totally wiped out. I mean it's not even that way with a bad employer, at least you get paid for what you did even if you get demoted or fired.
-
And the way international tells it like God brought these people to the Vicster so he could see what they knew.
-
Man, that's classic. What a ruse.

I can remember being so excited to take the advanced class. I put myself on the fast track - worked long hours / budgeted very tightly to clear some cc debt, drove to neighboring cities sometimes 2 or more hours away to take classes for requirements, went to every fellowship, excitedly took the exams, etc. I was so excited to learn the other 6 manifestations, to be fully instructed! I was ready to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, etc. I even signed up to go way disciple immediately after my advanced class because I wanted to put into practice what I would be learning. Well let me tell you what. I walked away from that class seriously confused and disappointed. Instead of teaching me how to, they just talked about them giving goof ball definitions and showing records in the bible where they were in operation. To make matters worse they placed an extreme emphasis on discerning of spirits, calling it the pinnacle of spiritual maturity, and giving all these questionable categories of spirits that frankly I have found to be quite worthless. In the end I spent years working to build my confession strong enough to have the believing to walk out on the power of God. When I needed healing the most for my son all I got was nothing. If I follow my way brain, then naturally it's all my fault for not believing and staying faithful. Funny how so many others are "staying faithful" and are still sick. But the way international says power of God / revelation and impartation manifestations on one hand and then turns about and says that God has blessed with all these wonderful Doctors, Hospitals, and social programs to pay for it all so we can be debt free! Things that make you On a side note, headquarters is full of sick people. Some even have battled cancer. So....where's the healing? Where's the great power of God that is supposed to flow from the fully instructed? Oh....wait...ya someone can speak in tongues for me.... P.S. I paid $450 bucks for that crap plus hotel and gas expenses. Oh, but I was chosen as a "Motel Steward" so I could call HQ and let them know we were all back at the hotel.
-
Oh ya, some from the way of the usa even gave him a button that said "I yell because I care." If I remember correctly he displayed it in the intermediate class.
-
Yep. Leave it to the way international to take an amazing set of events promised in the bible and screw em up. They really do see the scriptures from their perspective. So much for no private interpretation.

As I have read more about Vic it really starts to explain something I have always found very odd anytime I participated in a class on sex, childbirth, etc. I found it extremely inappropriate that they would tell really crude, nasty jokes and talk openly in mixed company in a way that was very suggestive and vulgar in between sessions. They were perverts! Now I get it. Along those same line at my first advanced class in 98 The Forehead told a doozie during the class photo. Now remember, mixed company and kids as young as 16 and folks in their 60 and perhaps up. He made a joke about a teenage boy losing his virginity and bragging to his dad about it. The boy told the dad he had a question...when would his butt stop hurting. I toned it down considerably and rest assured that The Forehead was very graphic and used lots of profanity. This was supposed to be the Man of God! Again, I was aghast that he told the joke in the setting he did. I mean that would be something the guys would tell each other on the job-site. Again, now I get it. He was a pervert. Now, did I pack up and leave? Did I confront the situation? or seek some resolution? Nope! I justified it as not being religious. Oh well, I'm better now...lol

Well, sexual predator goes so far in describing these dirt balls. When you think of them as scavengers who, like the hyena run from any type of fight unless they are in a pack, you can see the true nature of these folks. The reason most if not all didn't get their a$$es handed to them was they zero in on the ones that are likely not to retaliate. And it doesn't even mean the person is weak they are just vulnerable at the moment and the opportunity is there.
