Ya, I know right! That's probably why I'm copped out corps today!

Thanks for the explanation.

Sprinkle a little megalomania on top.

They don't like to read the word Jew in the Bible, but replace it with Judean.

Yes, it's that glazed over look that says "FREE ME!" It's sad really.

Oh, and I thought I had an original thought for a moment...

Aramaic NT Origins (The HRV)

From top to bottom no less, indicating God is the one who tore it in half. -
I think his wording is revealing. The taste would be bitterness from bile no? So, he is basically saying he thinks we are bitter. Personally, I am not.

And a fresh crop of new women to take advantage of and a system to hide them when they became "unruly." -

I assume this is rhetorical. Great post! -
You see. I never refuted preaching, speaking, teaching, signs, miracles, wonders, healing the sick, raising the dead, etc. I did refute that there was a man made organization that these men pledged allegiance to, such as the way international. Also, there was no "selling" scheme in place. Paul was speaking without their right hand for some time before he actually met those you call "leadership." And no where can you substantiate that they were a corporation that required a lifetime of Christian service of it's ministers. You can read the way international into the records, but once you take off the glasses you will see that the way international is not there.
-
See, this is kind of a butt head thing to say. And I saw the first reference earlier on and let it go. You don't bother me at all. I have moved on from the way international into greener pastures. My dealings on grease spot are to leave a witness of the things I saw. Well, if you were at HQ, you should be able to do the math. Other than that I maintain a reasonable level of privacy.
-
Perhaps. My point there is no such thing as "witnessing" in the book of acts. No pressure to go out and promote an organization. Acts shows Christ as the head directing the affairs of the Church. Not an organization of men moving in place of the absent Christ. Probably so.

That's where you are wrong. I know that one of them was talked to. You are on the outside looking in, trying to excuse what you are being told. I spent many years, some of those years in top leadership assignments. Sorry, I've seen the things I post about first hand. I've experienced far more than I post but being it's a personal as it is I leave most of the details out.

Well, as you are I once was. But calling an eggplant a banana doesn't change anything. In the end it is what it is no matter what you and I call it. Well, you see, there in lies the problem. Sometimes a person being overweight, or heavy, or whatever isn't related to eating junk food and laying on the couch. Sometimes it can be related to other health issues, it can be a side effect of certain medications, it can be glandular. Therein lies the evil. Because in the "counseling" session the person on the receiving end would likely feel coerced to explain personal details regarding their situation. Sometimes, and especially with women, that can be very embarrassing. In the end the way international have no business assuming responsibility for another's body composition, even if it's under the guise of having best interests at heart. Nope. I am saying that the way international pithes empty promises based on wrong interpretation of scripture. Who have you healed? What miracles have you done? Assuming you are fully instructed you should be able to do these things. My references to the book of acts are to point out that the witness was in the healings, signs, miracles, wonders. The preaching was the explanation.
-
The product that's pitched is the way international's interpretation of scriptures. That product is sold in classes, seminars, STS CD/DVDs, way magazines, etc. The way corps are the poster children of this belief system and that burden is shared with the lower caste grads. Witnesses if you will. I find it ironic that the book of Acts has not one record when people went witnessing. The witness were the signs, miracles, and wonders done by the 1st century church. The explanation and teaching followed but was not the witness.

Well, ya - I was being too specific.

An exit to eternal summer slacking . . . But where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Personally, I have not been exposed to that to be able to verify it. Overall, there are so few people that want to go in-res that the ratio of sponsor to sponsee is significant. (is sponsee a word?....did I just make that up?...is that like retemory...?....? )

Oh, it all comes back in waves - give it a little while. -
Hiya. From reading your point of view you assume a lot and seem take the "high road." That's what I used to call it. Recognizing the truth is not thinking evil. I really believe you mean well but you would probably do better by not allowing circumstances such as this to allow you to make logical reasonings on another's behalf, especially when the other keeps their dealings extremely confidential. On another note, sounds like you live either in Southern CA or Chicago area. Either way I will guarantee you that at some point their leadership has privately counseled them to drop some pounds. I am glad you took the time to explain a little more. Sometimes intent gets lost in cyberspace. I apologize for giving you the impression that I have attacked you. Not my intent at all. I appreciate your view and as far as I am concerned they are welcome here. People will respond, and you have several posters seemingly trounce on you when you post, so I will assume you are strong enough to handle that. But please do not take that as a personal attack, it's not. My apologies again.

S.O.W.E.R.S - the other greatest training in the world that isn't replicated anywhere else on earth?

When I was in-rez, I used to hear quite a few buzz phrases from my Corps Coordinator. Most of the phrases made little sense when a person stops to think a little. For example: It's a blend and a balance. WTF? Anyways, I began to get the impression pretty quickly after my first few weeks that there was a certain "mold" that they were endeavoring to shape us. To facilitate this process we were told repeatedly that "we needed to be willing to change anything and everything about ourselves for the privilege of serving God's people as a Way Corps minister." These were not empty words. I saw people's name changed from an acceptable shortened name to their full name, I saw people reproved for cutting their hair too short, I saw folks hammered on all sorts of "unwelcome" but otherwise normal emotional states, etc, and so the list could continue. Now here is the conundrum. We were also told that EVERYTHING about us would be needed to minister da werd. All of our past experiences, who we were, the things that made us uniquely unique, etc. (added a little way speak for humor's sake) Why was so much time spent trying to squeeze godliness out of the flesh? I mean they bill this program as the best in the world. Nothing else like it on earth. Well, what shape is the mold you may ask? Clean cut, thin, mouth full of mindless cliches backing Rosalie's party line and way ministry doctrinal errors, the willingness to go anywhere and do anything to serve God's people, and above all mindless willingness to put aside all common sense reasonings and say yes to what you are asked to do. Personally, I repudiated these efforts after spending significant time in Romans. But I thought I would put it out there for consideration. (we were told that a lot of things that were direct orders were "for our consideration") This is what a person could expect going in-residence. Many of the above mentioned items are not bad ideals on the surface. However, those efforts will be directed by people that are shady, with VERY checkered pasts - and I am being nice. That alone should make a person nervous. But to be expected to sell out to the way international and then act as though orders given by directors are God breathed is just plain WRONG!

Well, after all, a suggestion from a leader is paramount to a command! But I'm not trying to tell you what to do... I see the first edition was penned in 1918. -
