  1. OldSkool

    Trivia time

I'd have to guess they are at a bar, judging from the bottles in the background. Charming trio, really.
  2. They withheld FICA when I worked there. Not sure they always have done that though.
  3. This is a really old post but untrue as of 2007. They were graduated way corps working on staff in 2008. Gene was in way publications and Sherry was in purchasing.
  4. Reading all the replies has me thinking of the dog and pony show the board of dummies put on to give the impression they are so careful with their decisions. Reality check - thy don't care about anything except furthering the way international. So much damage done by them and certain way corps over the years, exerting control and influence over people's lives.
  5. I have seen this so many times I have lost count. way corps are assigned a non-full time position on the field. Said way corps have professional careers and savings, etc. They spend time putting their resume out and all the while waiting for the right job offer they are hounded relentlessly by their leadership to "get a job - any job." Of course my experience is that the corps folks keep up the job hunt, find an acceptable offer, and are congratulated for their faithfulness and believing by the same idiots endeavoring to pressure them into low paying, menial labor that they are way over qualified for. What's up with this practice? Anyone else deal with / witness this sort of harassment and double talk?
  6. I said bunk. The bunks have been mostly done away with and two to a room with two separate twin beds was the norm. Only time I ever did the bunk thing was in-residence.
  7. No, that's where they rent and cannot otherwise afford. I just live in the city. They stalk the suburbs of America and avoid the inner cities for the most part.
  8. Oh, fear not they had lots of rooms when I left. They need staff BAD. You know what though...they still made new staff bunk together. Rooms out the wazoo.
  9. I live in a part of the city they dare not venture.
  10. Sometimes I am naive. I hadn't even considered it. But now it makes sense.
  11. Yikes. Locking people into a business model that promotes poverty for it's promoters and abundance for the way international.
  12. OMG!! HATED DOING THAT! Speak in tongues, speak in tongues, do it everyday! Oh what fun it is to know in the spirit you can pray! Hey! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  13. Yep. I am sure you have heard Rozilla stress that "the way ministry owes people nothing."
  14. They consider rooming new staff to be a learning experience where people can learn to live the word together. I $h1t you not!
  15. Thanks for posting your story Balanced. Goes to show that the encouragement to speak up is little more than more mindless drivel designed to help keep the sepulcher whited.
  16. RosaLIE likes to portray herself as the great saviour that God sent to heal the hearts of those in the way international. Kinder and gentler supposedly is she. Just watch the k-nines. Anyways. She has told people on so many occasions to speak up. That her door is open and come talk, blah. Anyhow, a couple years ago there was a member of the president's cabinet who was younger and had quite a few grievances with HQ, the way ministry, and things he had learned since going on the cabinet. Now, he spent a couple years griping with Br1@n Moneyhands, who shares his grievances and then some, except takes the approach that Rosie is old and will die off soon. So, the cabinet person came to his senses one day and decided to speak up. He spent weeks counseling with Rosie. Talking things over only to be told that the ministry will never change from how it is done now. (Which could be said - second verse same as the first - not much has changed in other words) Well, this person had a decision to make. Buckle under RosaLIE and accept the hypocrisy or move on himself. He did the latter only to become an outcast during his remaining time in the area. They were treated HORRIBLY by their supposed "brothers and sisters" in the way international! They have moved on to greener pastures now and I will refrain from further details out of respect for their privacy. But I wanted to make sure their story is told, at least in part. Perhaps some of you "young up and comings" will take the time to read the road signs before you go thinking you can change the way ministry. Go ahead and tell yourself things like "you have to be in it to win it" or "we are the future of the ministry" or whatever lame cliche you can come up with. Rozilla has taken great pains to cast in concrete the current way international and she has promoted YES men (or Yes Ma'ams) who believe she is the woman of God. They believe in the way things are done now and you will not change it. Do yourself a favor and don't waste the best years of your life trying to re-shape a cult. That which is crooked cannot be made straight. Don't you get it? VeePee installed Craig who nearly wrecked the joint. They have made sure that one person will not be able to come in and change it all to suit their whim ever again.
  17. And I think this is in part the reason they came up with that lamo little 401k at HQ. If I have met one disgruntled lifer who knows they are totally dependent on living on staff to eek out a living I have met a hundred. The folks who have literally "staked" their lives on the way international and have managed to accumulate a few years seem to get this eerie sense that they have little to nothing to show for it. What's the standard response from the almighty board of dummies? "God will give you what you need when you need it."
  18. I believe we can give Ham credit for that one. It's a new designation at the root. Hag Of God For Our Day And Time
  19. It was mostly Bolsheviks brainchild. I think he had called her Queen Q-Tip in the shoutbox one day. Frau was my contribution. Seriously, that picture is just gross. But my God it's is worth a thousand words. Endeavor to keep the staff locked up on grounds and only let em out to work while the board of directors enjoys special privileges. Not that there is too much special about a pool and an A frame house.
  20. Perhaps he should have said live off of believers...
  21. Well, probably if ole' VeePee's doomsday scenarios play out they feel like they have enough cash to operate w/o utilities. But I don't really know. Funny thing is that is VeePee's doomsday scenarios were to play out the cash they have hoarded would become worthless anyways.
  22. Seems they kept around $10 million in a medical fund as of 2008. My theory is they simply don't have the cash to operate the size of operation the would like to appear to be. So instead of cutting staff, revising systems, streamlining processes, etc, they keep appearances at the expense of their staff and others who abundantly share. They don't have the resources to operate as a true global non-profit, with work in 30 countries. Nope not at all. In short they obviously have no genuine interest in improving living conditions for their staff.
