  1. Hi and nice to meet you. For the longest time I justified my time as way corps as "fine" because I never abused people and came along right after Martindale left so I wasn't there for his reign of terror I wasn't perfect but I genuinely did all I could to help people. Then as time went forward I took a fresh look at my involvement in TWI and way corps all that. I felt strongly convicted for being part of it all and especially for teaching the errors they promulgate. So, yes, I literally dropped on my knees and asked the Lord's forgiveness. I have also forgiven those in twi for the wrongs done on me and my family. I have no bitterness left and post here as a warning to others...both doctrinally and practically. It's my way of making amends, not that I need to offer anything else to Christ's redeeming work, but it's me bringing forth fruit meets for repentance. Cheers!
  2. To my knowledge this hasnt changed. The centerpeice of the way corps training is the in-residence work-study program. Thats where you study approved ministry resources and work the rest of the time. Work for free, I mean at least penitentiarys pay a couple dollars a day for making license plates. Then there were the work projects that dotted the landscape every so often where we would go and do some big group project. I helped tranistion the in-residence way corps from gunnison to HQ back in 2005 or so. They solocited department coordinators to submit possible work projects for the corps. Most projects that were approved happened to he in the grounds department. So I had several large scale work projects running that I coordinated and supported in various ways. All of it was hard work. Dropping trees out in the woods, new fence line down wierwille road, etc. All of the projects would have cost $$ to do with staff or contractors and that free labor was handy.
  3. I can verify that this has been an ongoing effort for many, many years. My former wife worked in way publication for a good decade or so and she was front and center as they combed through all of their publications and classes ever so systematically removing all the hoopla that wierwille stated over the years. Snow on the gas pumps being at the top of the list. The books were also a disjointed mess that contradicted each other at times, they cleaned that up too. They also cleaned up their materials to stay lawsuit proof. Dont wanna have wayward claims that cause people problems ya know. But, I wanted to chime in and verify what you highly suspect as verifiable truth. Peace!
  4. Hiyas! I think the common demoniator for a lot of people is scripture does not return void but accomplishes what God sends it to accomplish. While, I did have some outright rotten experiences towards the end of my time in TWI, I did walk away with a lot of good experiences and overall as a better person. TWI gets no accoloades for such things as it happened rather in spite of them. But thats the cool thing with Christ. He draws us ever closer to God if we are willing to follow and constantly builds us up out of the sin nature into the new nature. Thanks for posting and hope to see you around. Peace!
  5. Yeah...he was planning to sell wow burgers as big Macs...was right after he invented the hook shot....I think he invented the basketball too...
  6. I stated that initially. Look...I'm not here to spar with you. I get my full with that with Mike and less and less at that.
  7. They were interested in retaining their own power and influence, Jesus rejected what he called the traditions of men, which was basically the Babylonian Talmud and the oral traditions of the elders, which the Pharisees held in higher regard than Torah. I mean there's more...you want all or is just a couple clif notes sufficient?
  8. Im not being persnickty here, but just connecting a few historical dots. Of all the groups in Judea at the time (Sadducess, Herodians, Scribes, Pharisees, Sanhedrin, Zealots, etc) the group that won the support of the people and therefore survived the day was the Pharisees. The Pharisees is the main group that had Jesus Christ crucified. They rejected Jesus as the Messiach. It was from the Pharisees that modern day Judaism took it's roots. That rejection stayed put and if anything gained steam as Christianity gained steam. So it wasnt so much a rejection of the inspiration of the New Testament but a blanket rejection of anything to do with Jesus Christ, and thus rejection of the New Testament surely followed as well as inspiration of anything else Christ like. Thats a summation from memory so I may be a tad bit off on a point or two so feel to correct as needed. I can provide some references later if you guys wanna read along. Peace!
  9. I do not believe this statement and since you introduced it please provide historical documentation that what you say is true.
  10. It seem that mike has no actual respect for scripture or actual faith that God is capable of having a book written that can just be read for what it says. No secret numerical code, no secret word games, etc, all that stuff is occultic in nature. Also, no wierwille needed. Nobody needs wierwille's faulty intrepretations of scripture that are rooted in the occult and from charlatans like EW Kenyon, name it and claim it garbage. Mike's defence mechanisms are so strong around his illogic that not one shred of humility shines through. Its just mike's way and when we try and tell him "yo, mikey, scripture diesnt say that" it's always our fault because "we just don't get it". Sad part is mike probably thinks we actually can't understand spiritual matters because were so out of fellowship and hate filled around here...ya ok. Mike: you need a closed society like the way international that's heavily controlled and that lacks basic honesty to be able to function with some of this junk. You can present a topic and everyone can say "wonderful, tremendous, oh thats so spiritually deep, and so forth". But when any level of critical thiking is applied to your theories they fall flat by all standards, well, except your standards but you can move those all you need. Its sad really. You seem to be an intelligent, kind hearted individual.
  11. Thanks for sharing this, I had no idea it happened....I mean Im not surprised or anything but legitly had no idea.
  12. Well...unless it was 451 prophets of Baal....then. Ya over budget...
  13. Lmao....sounds counterintuitive at best. You can have more if you use less....make that make sense...lol
  14. Oh snap! I forgot all about Practical Management. I never had the official class but read the syllabus in-residence. What a waste of paper. Howard has NO business sense and treats EVERYTHING like an old farm tractor. Which, for an old farm, having an old farm tractor that you can repair forever makes sense. But my Lord! Most equipment, apparatus, facilities even have a natural end of life where their usefulness has expired and items need to be replaced. They were wasting so much money trying to cobb and string things together that couldve easily been replaced with newer and better technology. Crazy. We could do a seperate thread on this non-sense. TWI wastes more money trying to strech resources --- so much for H.A. practical management. Im sorry but turning off lights and saving pencils are not sound business practices, not talking to you here Choclkful as I know Im preaching to the choir.
  15. But....but....but....God brought these great men of God to wierwille so he could uhh...steal...I mean make their material error free and teach it to his keds like it hadnt been known since the first century....it hadnt been known since the first centure because it never was known in the first century....wierwilles law of believing came from Phineas Parkhurst Quimby who was the driving force behind Mary Baker Eddy who founded Christian Science. Late 1800s != to first century.
  16. It doesnt...its in PFLAP version 5346, page 194, paragraph 6, section III, subsection MXMXXII Its really clear in the original text.
  17. ya...well....like that would alter mikes narrative...and would be a negative confession....so theres that...
  18. Man, I have heard so many stories similar to yours skyrider. That's crazy though..they consider Howard as a pillar in the Church, a bridge bulder, a man of God of great height. What has he actually done to deserve these accolades?
  19. Man, that's some extry spayshull believing right there
