I couldn't agree more. I learned more about that particular Bible verse than I ever did while in TWI. WOw!! Thanks Pete!

Mmm....this one has my vote.

My inner man is quite shriveled. Really though. It never made any sense to say on one hand that the inner man was perfect spirit, and that everyone received the same measure. Then turn around and say you need to build it up, (like spiritual weight lifting) by speaking in tongues.

Most Fiery Confrontations Leveled at Dissenting Leadership
OldSkool replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
When my son was born with serious medical issues I was targeted for quiet demotion. My wife and I were also basically blamed for it being an ongoing condition. I was told the demotion was so we could have room to "work on things." Nothing has changed with them. If anything they just try to be slick about abusing those with health problems. They even went so far as to meet with my wife and I at an unplanned meeting. The entire time they tried all they could to pit me and my wife at odds with each other. Real godly, no? johniam - really sorry for what you had to deal with. Craig was a lot harsher than Rosalie, though the end result with Rosalie is the same. Zeroing in on health conditions is absolutely sick. You get more sympathy from the devil than you do from TWI on such matters. -
I know your question is rhetorical, but let me emphatically state that when I throughout all four years of my way corps training we were never trained to counsel. Period. Yet as way corps I spent a lot of hours in counseling sessions. <_<

Most Fiery Confrontations Leveled at Dissenting Leadership
OldSkool replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
Understanding, that isn't saying much. Rosalie is manipulative. Smart? Not really. It has been speculated (probably rightfully so) that the homo purges were related to Donna and Rosie's close relationship. Rosie and Donna did use Craig's affairs against him. They pushed a lot of policy through his reign, policy that still stands today. I do love the poetic justice of Craig being so down on women and then being ousted by Rosie and his wife. -
I always enjoy reading your experiences. I am also extremely thankful that my son has no idea wtf a way international is.

Guess this excludes Rosie. -
In a word, no.

Definitely plenty of exhortation there.

Most Fiery Confrontations Leveled at Dissenting Leadership

This happened to me. Rosalie used two directors (not at the same time) to come after me over a period of a year and six months. It was a very nasty time. -
They quit publicly slandering people with Rosalie, likely under their lawyers guidance. However, TWI slanders the hell out of people within the organization. Gossip and politicking within the way international is rampant. Now they just whisper it to each other instead of shouting it into the microphone like Craig and Vic did.

Yep - that about debunks the 5 basics formula.

Ya, since we all stopped squabbling so much I am doing better at following along and not skipping over posts. I appreciate everyone considering what I had to say before we all went over the deep end into a flame war. Not that I am the self appointed mod or something. I think this is a really good thread that is very provocative, and requires readers to deal with issues they may have avoided due to critical thinking being snuffed out by TWI's methodology. I know the topic, and subsequent positions, have helped jar me out of complacency in this particular area of discussion. The whole idea of VPW's great quest for truth, and how God "taught" him "the truth." "Truth" that should only be believed and not questioned falls to pieces as soon as "the truth" is analyzed. Truth should stand being analyzed, at least to a certain extent. God always asks us to have faith, or trust in what he says. Obviously, this is required when it comes to God's existence or Christ being raised from the dead. But even then there is ample evidence for someone to develop their faith. Anywho. Just rambling.

No worries. Have a good one and we can catch up a little later. I am more interesting in getting back on topic than our side show. Laters.

I never stated whether or not I disagree with you. You are not the expert on my point of view, only yours. I never called your position satanic and never painted you as a crybaby politician. Why the intent on seeing it either your way or the other? Honestly, in the four years I have not been with TWI this is the first time I have really delved into what they taught on the topic. Really, I am more inclined to agree with you on many points. But to be clear, I have not chosen a "side," despite your attempts to categorize me in the "other sides" camp.
-
No. You are speaking in absolutes. I stated: So. Though, I have found the overall discourse provocative in a good way, the manner with which you state your position on an internet forum doesn't have to have an edge. Especially on a topic that is personal. And I will state again. I have read volumes of your posts on other topics and did not get the same edge. I really can't say that I am personally offended. I just thought I would let you know what I thought, since I have endured 23 pages of what you think. Again. Carry on. Myself, and Wordwolf have mentioned the same thing to you. If you don't care then that's fine too. Prove whatever point you have to prove. That's the point of an internet forum.

Ummm...ya. I was way corps, living at Gunnison and HQ for nearly a decade. I believed Wierwille's garbage as gospel truth. Leaving the way and waking up to the harsh reality we all have is no excuse for berating those who disagree with one's point of view. In fact, just the opposite should be true.
-
But at the end of the day, neither side can prove anything definite. So that leaves room for personal preference and that should not be condemned as lying. That is just very abrasive.
-
I dunno. Raf. After reading pages of your posts you have an edge in your posts that is abrasive. I didn't find that edge in other posts of yours, and I have read many, many of them. So I appreciate the work you have put into other topics. I am not sure why you have this "agree with me or I will berate you" thing going on. Personally, all you have accomplished with me is I find it hard to consider your point of view. My 2 cents anyway. Carry on.
-
Fair enough.
-
It would appear that the two are intertwined.

Ya, I am drinking in tongues at the moment. Me and the squirrel should hang out. I am speaking og Paul's writings. How are they discredited?
