I remember people saying that Bullinger MUST have come to the conclusion that the trinity didn't exist. This was based upon his Compaion Bible and the fact that TWI used it so much, and EW was 'right on' in so many other areas (like the 4 crucified). that was an odd assumption... putting words into EW's mouth or was it true... ? anyone have any other instances where any one in TWI put words into the mouths of others?

when i said strange... I meant strange for VPW and TWI. I wasn't talking about bullinger or other preachers. I just heard stories that VPW would bring people that he thought were "evil" or "seed" or "wrong" and use them as teaching points. It was all in the context of what TWI and VPW would have considered "strange". I think 4 crucified was the biggest waste of time in my life. Even video games were a better use of my time. At least they were fun.

I had to read that twice... at first i thought... he must have meant 6 year... look... just go with her... i will be willing to bet that the fellowship is full of a bunch of harmless nice folks. It's not like you are walking into a satanic ritual where you have to cut your wrists and drink the blood of a virgin. Go with her, talk to her and the people about what you believe, listen to what they believe. If the different beliefs are going to be a problem, then your 6 month relationship just might have to end. And if it ends you just move on... Trust me on this one man, if this chick is too into her religion to listen to what others have to say... i dont care what religion it is... she's not going to work out unless you kiss her foot and believe what her religion says. come on ... your a biologist... be honest with her. don't fight her on what she thinks (its her right). If she wants to fight with you.. don't fight back.. just be a man and say "sorry, this isn't working out. I'm going to have to move on.. I hope you find what you're looking for." And if she does accept that you think different, then let the relationship go on. good luck with it man... PS I grew up in TWI... left when i was about 24... I know how you feel... Out of TWI for some time now. Since 2002 i think. I had a dream day before last that my dad came to my work. I was showing him how we do stuff, and letting him try stuff out. It was cool, i was teaching him new things with the intent that it was going to help him. He then started to kinda scoff at my workplace. Not in a mean way. But he was saying stuff like, not bad for a place that has such outdated ....ty equipment. Then i would try to show him something else, and he was taking it like it was a joke, mocking me, not in a mean way. He had a snide smile on his face. He saw that it irritated me and he just kept doing it more, and more, and I kept trying to show him it kept getting more and more irritating... the whole time he just had that snide little smile on his face... I then woke myself up because i was shaking my head back and forth like a dog does with a toy, more violent like a wolf does with its prey after it bites its neck... it was not a deep sleep, it afternoon, after work, and it was warm in my house. So i was half in half out. I knew i was shaking my head violently for about 10 seconds before i stopped myself. I got a headache from it. My father and i have a good relationship. He's a solid person/husband/father. The only thing i can think of is that I have changed so much in the past few years and my belief system is so different that he would probably think im an idiot now. Wierd stuff. I was raised in TWI, Parents were way corpse for over 20 years, forme twig, branch and limb coordinators. so i was heavily indoctrinated in TWI theology. what should i think of this?

the only thing that matters is your hearts motivation. if you were witnessing because your twig (hfc) leader told you too, not because you wanted to, then its a job. If you witnessed because YOU wanted to at that time, and YOU wanted to help that person, i believe God will honor that no matter what church you go to.

im happy im not involved anymore :> imagine having to listen to the tapes, take extensive notes, then being chosen to give a review of the tape, then having to split up into exceller groups and share how the tape blessed you, then having to report back to your coordinator about how you applied the new light into your cleaning schedule etc...

rum, thanks for the info. so it seems that the consesus among scientists is that: YES, the earth is warming. But the question/disagreement is: I.WHY is the earth warming. II.What consequences will the warming bring. Tom, It is just a topic that interests me, i dont really know why. I think that one reason may be that: I was raised in TWI and ANYTIME an environmental issue came up it was IMMEDIATLY dismissed. In my household at least. And now being out of TWI I have a chance to think more freely. But i do see your points very clear. I mean we dont really know why, so the more research i do the more questions i'll have.

I want to see what the other variables are, so i can get a better picture of what may or may not be going on. 3. i'd like to see when and to what extent the earth has ever done this before. i agree with you. there is no way to Know for sure what is causing the rise. But the movie or documentary presents some decent logic and at least provides us with valid statistical correlations imo. Im in shape. less than 10% bodyfat, abs, muscles, all that stuff. ppl give me a hard time because i eat healthy. example: Friends will be eating what they want, i'll be eating what i want. I NEVER say ONE word about my lifestyle, unless someone asks. Its always someone who's INSECURE about themselves that points out that im different than other people. I usually find myself hanging out with the smokers, because they dont give me $*@! for doing what i want, and i dont give them $*@! for doing what they want. As long as your happy with yourself (truly happy). And healthy (not too skinny, or too musclebound or TOO overweight) your doing fine. But its sucks when someone reverts to 4th grade and makes fun of how someone is because they are different.
