  1. Cherishe Child, Proberge posted: I did not see any implication of lesbianism either until I read Rafael's post and then re-read what I quoted above. I can read it two ways. One simply speculating that Craig is still important and this is why Donna get's the Chalet - and nothing more. Or because of past dialoge and specualtion here concerning Rosalalie's and Donna's alleged lesbian relationship, I could take it to imply that if Donna is not Craig's "spouse", then she must be the "spouse" of someone else that is important - meaning Rosalie, and then still the President's "wife". Rafael is pretty sharp, I bet he got it right but I suppose that Pat is the only one who can actually clarify what he was getting at. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  2. Lo Shanta mala kaceeta. Lo Shanto mala kaceetee. Ooo Ooo Ooo Ooo, Aaww Aaww Aaww. Which being interpreted is: Feel the Love Feel the Joy Thus say the Sea Monkeys Boy Oh Boy ! Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  3. ROTFLMAO ! Mike, you have an answer for everything don't you? Just delcare by fiat something to have "came from God" and then claim that folks are "contradicting God" when they don't agree. And when the results are contrary to what "The Word" says, explain that with Satanic influence. Hey this formula sound familiar ..... Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  4. Exie, That was just beautiful .... I need a tissue ... (sniff) Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  5. OK, I am comming out of the closet. Ever since I was in Boy Scouts and had my subscription ot Boy's Life I had a desire to have my own little family of Amazing Sea Monkeys Finally, when I was a Wow in 79 (and under a lot of spiritual pressure I might add), I recieved my Amazing Sea Monkeys. What a great joy it was to see these special little creatures miraculously raise themselves from the dead in their little enclosure, with notthing but the addition of what I now believe to be "holy water". For hours I would watch them frolic and play in thier little home, displaying thier true natue - Pure Love. But alas nothing lasts forever or so it seems. I came home one day quite saddend to see my Amazing Sea Monkeys not moving and seemingly lifeless. No doubt aattacked by an evil force jelaous of thier nature of Pure Love. Heartbroken I took their little home and placed it on the coffee table and said a little prayer of thanks for the joy that they had gven me. And then suddenly, I felt a "presence" in the room, a feeling of Love and peace. That is when I realised that they were not really dead but had instead gone to a "better place" to serve a high purpose. My Amazing Sea Monkeys are still with me to this day, not "in the flesh", but rather as my little guardians, constantly looking over me and guiding me with their Pure Love. What more can I say? Truly Amazing ..... Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  6. I changed my mind. It seems to me that this poll is mostly about where to put the Mike threads and possiblbly those of a few other posters. It may also be applicable to the drive-by prophets who occasionally post their messages and warnings here at GS. Mike, as well as some others start their threads in "About The Way" or "Open" because they want them to be seen by most number of people and not hidden down there in Doctrinal where some never dare venture or don't even know is there. Others (mostly newbies) post things of a doctrinal nature in About the Way becasue they may not be aware of a Doctrinal forum. To get to the Doctrinal Forum, you have to go way down the main forum page - down past "Computer Questions" and "Testing 123" almost to the basement where the Archives are stored. The Doctrinal forum is the only forum in a category of it's own except for Soap Opera, so if you happen to wind up on the "General" page you will not even find the Doctrinal forum listed. Mike's threads are obviously not "About the Way". At least not in the spirit of the listed purpose of that forum. His purpose is evangelistic in nature. Given the currently avaliable choices, Mike's threads would fit Doctrinal better than About The way. So would quite a few of Roy's threads. However, I think the Doctrinal Forum needs a little more exposure than it get's now. Maybe move it up the page. Maybe give it a listing in the General category instead of having it in it's own category near the basement. And instead of having just one catch-all Doctrinal forum maybe there should be an open "Religious" forum where folks like Mike and the drive-by prophets can post their messages and let the Doctrinal forum be for the actual discussion doctrinal topics. 7. Mike Posted: Wrong Mike, and another disingenous dodge. God has not stated that PFAL is God-breathed (unless you are God). YOU have made these claims and only you that I can tell so far. Show me where "God" has made this claim? You can't - not without circular reasoning. By your method and reasoning, one could make any number of unsupportable statements and then when challenged delcare, "I’m simply announcing His [God's] position. He [God] can shoulder the burden of proof ..." -- A neat little cop out typically used by religious fanatics and wannabe prophets/cultists. Your whole spiel boils down to nothing more than 'God told me to tell you .. blah blah blah'. It lacks any substance. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  8. Paw, I voted to keep them here, specifically those that are heavy into TWI theology, PFAL, etc. I think is is good to have that kind of stuff here where it can be seen. However, if something is a purely doctrinal or theological topic the Doctrinal Forum is probably the best place. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  9. Wordwolf Posted: Ok. I'll do it, but as you know Mike operates by his own rules which he makes up as he goes. So it is doubtful that it will make any impact on Mike. Mike posted: My analogy was simply descriptive and was offered to show by example why reading your every word is not necessary to see the folly of your position(s).However, you are reasoning by the logical fallacy of Burden of Proof. The Burden of Proof rests upon the one making the initial claim or statement - which would be you, since you are the one who has declared PFAL to be the God-breathed reissuance of His written Word. The fallacy is to attempt shift the burden of proof against that statement to the other side. A good definition is: "Burden of proof is a fallacy where a claimant asserts that he does not have to prove his claim, but that his opponent has to disprove it." (http://seercom.com/bcs/resources/criticalt...irf.burden.html) Example: "I believe that Bigfoot exists". "That's absurd. Where is your proof? "The truth needs no proof, I am just here to declare it. Where is your proof that that he doesn't exist ? No one on earth can prove that he doesn't exist ..." ------------------------------- The fallacy of burden of proof is usually used when someone has a very weak position with little or no facts or evidence with which to support it. Short of relevant facts and evidence, they will shift the burden of proof to their opponent(s), errantly thinking that it somehow supports their position. At best it is a dodge. Mike, the burden of proof is on you and has been on you since you have made you assertations. You can deny this all you want, but it still remains. 10. Mike, Partial knowledge of your "position" is quite enough to reject it. It's kinda like trying to get a patent on a perpetual motion device. The US Patent Office will not consider a patent on any device that claims perpetual motion. Just the claim of perpetual motion is sufficient to reject the patent application, regardless of any other redeeming features of the device. Once they see "perpetual motion" or "free energy" in the application, it is rejected. They do not even look a the rest of the claims or the specifics. There is no need to. Your "position" rests on the premises that PFAL is God-breathed and that Wierwille's "final last lost teaching" is also God-breathed and worthy of obedience. Both are false premises. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  11. Mike, I have had plenty of time, as have others. It does not take too much time to see that a horse is being ridden backwards. I already see quite well what you are talking about, and have seen it since it for quite some time. I see it and I reject it for the folly that it is.Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  12. As if the amount if time spent in error makes a difference. I worked with a carpenter once. He had 30 years "experience". He still couldn't drive a nail straight or use a level properly. All you had to do was look at the nails or put a level along a one of his window sills. The amount of time you have pondered these things is irrelevant to thier veracity. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  13. Mike, Don't delude yourself. "These things" are not being rejected because they are "new". They are being rejscted because they are just downright stupid and idiotic. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  14. Mike, Nice dodge Mike, but I won't dodge yours. I would readily accept my error and go with the program. OK, I answered your question, now you answer mine ... And for the record Mike, my theology is far from "traditional". I see you are still painting everyone with that same broad brush of yours. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  15. I guess even deposed cult leaders get some kind of severance package. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  16. Posted by Mike: No Mike I don't, and neither do I see him teaching from PFAL or leading songs out of "Sing Along the Way" ... Assuming he will "teach" at all, I don't imagine he will need a book to teach from -- much less a translation like Kings James, or even very much less the obvioulsy uninspired and flawed works of Wierwille. I see him much more likely to use a PFAL book as a blunt instrument to whack you upside the the head to get your attention. Mike, what if Jesus does not come holding up a PFAL book? Are you going to argue with him and tell him to come back when he finally masters PFAL? Jesus teaching from PFAL, not just absurd -- ridiculously absurd. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  17. Posted by Mike: Oh, I can see it now, Jesus holding up a PFAL book and saying, "The Word, The Word, and nothing but the Word!". ROTFLMAO !!
  18. Yes, Much better. Thanks for the clarificaton .. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  19. I happen to think that Flay Minion's prospective is a pretty good one and lends to more credibility. What kind of thinking is this? This is exactly the opposite thinking of folks like Oldies, who seem to think that if they weren't there it didn't happen. Both prospectives are 'head in the sand' and go too far to one side, spinning the actual facts and truth. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  20. Oak Posted I agree, This thread is not about the bad stuff that TWI did. It is about false accusations againt TWI. Let's stick to that. Here is the opportunity for some of us to show our honesty and obectivity to those who seem to think that some of us are so "bitter" against TWI and it's chief perpetrators that we can't tell the truth. There are other threads already started where we have ample opportunity to tell the "other side of the story" about TWI. -------------------------------- Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  21. Here's one, I read on one anti-cult web site that TWI/VPW taught that God had sex with Mary in order to conceive Jesus. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  22. Igotout, The blaster virus is a "worm" and does not infect the boot sector of the hard drive. It always comes in though unprotected TCP ports. Where is it copied to the System32 folder. It is then executed from a registry entry. So, The only way to get infected is for the code to enter your system via a network and then be told to execute. But yes there are viruse that infect the boot sector -- but blaster is not one of those. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
  23. Paw, I usually troubleshoot these kind of problems with the "divide and conquer" method. Remove half of the devices in question, if still no go, then put these back in and remove the other half ... so forth and so on until you've isolated the culprit. Check for unsigned drivers and maybe remove these devices first. If the problem stiil exists in safe mode (does it? )then I would be looking at a fresh install first to replace the core files and registry, then if that doesn't do it, I would look at bad hardware - like a graphics card, nic, or even mememory. In any case, IMO there is really no good reason to have to hack the registry to stabilze your system. Personaly, I would try other stuff first. Hack the registry as a last resort. Also don't rule out a corrupted installation of Windows that it beyond repair or workarounds. You can always install another instance of Windows on a different partition to test. Install with as few add ons as possible. Then add other devices and software one at a time to try to determine which if any causes the problem. ---------------------------------------- Here is tip for you IT pros if you haven't seen it yet. NTLDR that comes with XP will multiboot Win 2000 just fine. But NTLDR that comes with 2000 will not load XP reliabily if at all. So if you install 2000 after XP on a Multiboot system, you will need to manually copy XP's NTLDR back to the root. Just boot in to 2000 and get it off of the XP CD (I386 Folder) and copy it back to the root. I fought this one for over an hour the other day. I couldn't find anything in the Microsoft KB that showed this. But I could have missed it. ---------------------- W32.Blaster is still alive and well. I did a fresh install of XP today. I immediately connected up to Microsoft after the install to get some security patches - with the antivirus and firewall not installed yet. I was infected with w32:blaster (Msblast.exe) within 15 minutes! It's easy enough to remove, but what a pain in the butt.... For anyone that runs XP or 2000. A firewall and antivirus are an absolute necessity these days. Disable them just for a minute or two and you can be infected. Worms, Worms, worms..... 24. TWI's site is very amateurish and very poorly configured. I imported their entire Web Site onto my system (legally) and I cannot find where they are using cookies or web beacons. From the looks of things this Site was slapped together in Front Page by a complete novice with no sense of structure or organization or an eye for graphical design. It is doubtful that whoever administers their web site has any clue at all about how to gather stats or information. Goey "Most of my fondest memories in TWI never really happened"
