  2. Mooney, I know Kathy's show but I remember it coming on with voice over while the music played. Maybe this was what was played at the end? Like Hiway29 said... Kathy's clue about blonds might have been referring to the two twin (blond) sons of one of the kids in the series. Oh, and Hiway29.... Bowtwi was right about my snippet (Click HERE!), it was the Harry Potter movies theme. I woulda' thought that folks here with younger children or grandchildren would have known it, too. And since Bowtwi asked me to post her song, click HERE! and identify the singer and Nooooooo.... it isn't Janis. But then...*this*... group would know that. Bowtwi's getting the feel of this, I think. The converting of music files, renaming them, uploading them and then finally linking to them. Its a whole lot at ONE TIME though each individual part isn't very tough. The tough part is finding good tunes to post. But its a lot of fun! sudo P.S. Here's one of many to come for the holidays. Even if you don't who the singer is, tell me... does this not sound like its from the islands? I like it. A different kind of Christmas song. Sounds sorta' Calypso to my ears. Click HERE!

Mstar, Don't beat yourself up over it. Knancy knew the risks when she signed on for the job. sudo
  4. Kathy, I don't know fer sure but maybe you were wanting.... ALVIN? Maybe another? I'm wondering how many folks are going to be hanging our here this weekend. I'll be in and out, myself. And just to keep up with what's been posted... Click HERE! for the snippet that is evidently frustrating folks in that... they KNOW they've heard the theme but can't quite name it. Hee-hee! I love it when that happens. Rick got the Maurice Chevalier tune I posted... Jolly old St. Nicholas. I'd been searching for it off and on for nearly a year when I finally saw it and got it this week. It's December and I've gots lotsa' Christmas tunes! sudo
  5. Bowtwi, There was another thing, too. There is a space between 'a' and 'href'. You had ahref. One other itsy bitsy thing I forgot to mention, as well was... when you're posting, below where it says 'Guided Mode Off' and 'Check Post Lenght'. Below that to the left you'll see 'Post Options'. That's where you'll select HTML On- Auto linebreak mode. What you would post in the above case would be.. Can anyone tell me who <a href=http://baygeeks.com/public/Mom/THIS.wav>THIS</a> singer is? That's the correct syntax but there's another problem. I just checked and there is no THIS.wav file at that location. Why don't you check to make sure you don't have to go through a 'Public' directory of some kind? Like baygeeks.com/public/mom or something like that? My church server makes me do that. If I were to post the song from there, I would have to use this syntax.. <a href=http://www.lroom.org/public/users/bowdend/THIS.wav>THIS</a>. And using Rick's Unix server you have to use a little '~' sign before your directory, like this... <a href=http://mail.bluzecentral.net/~sudo/THIS.wav>THIS</a> I'll be in and out today... e-mail me if you need me. sudo <edited by sudo for name correction >
  6. George, You're not the only one to make plugs for other threads because, heck, I've plugged THIS thread so many many times. You go right ahead. I can't complain because you add so much to this thread but please... don't be disappointed if the response is not what you expected. I think most folks here are aware of the other similar threads but maybe its just not their thing. Mooney... I had never heard that song but googled it to see what it was all about. What an interesting story and I think that young lady who did it back in 1953 is still alive and recalls it fondly! Rick... I have a tune that I'm only going to post a snippet of. See? I end sentences in prepositions all the time. The reason I'm singling YOU out on this one is because I have good reason to believe you'll recognize it right off. Click HERE! and let me know if my suspicions are correct. Of course, ANYONE who thinks they know who is singing that song may answer. That's just how we do things here. But... I have that whole song on my hard drive in MP3 format. :D sudo (thinking its beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!) P.S. I'm still waiting for someone to answer the 9 sec wonder.... HERE!
  7. Mooney, Hey, girl.. it can't be that bad. You feel no pain during the procedures and the narcotics afterwards are pretty good :D Aw... I think you'll do just fine. Kathy... insulted us men did you? I've been looking at what all you've posted and it HAD to have been the post about testosterone? Is that it? OK, then. Yea... We're all pretty insulted. All of us guys have been Private Messenging each other back and forth ALL DAY over how OFFENDED we all are, I'll have you know. Lots of tears were shed, too. I mean, we're sensitive kind of guys around here. Give me a minute...... OK.... I'm alright now (snif). We need a new tune don't we? How about a short snippet from a recent release. Or... maybe not so recent. Click HERE! Sound familiar? 9 seconds should be all you need. sudo
  8. Johnny, He may be banned but anyone can come here and read. I wonder if he still lurks? <center>sudo</center>
  9. Mooney, I'm sorry... I must not give those discounts because I don't know what they are. Is it something to do with dental insurance??? And Rick... yeah... tough room. I'm bombing up here. But seriously folks, just flew in from Chicago and boy are my arms tired. Ka-Chink! sudo
  10. What?? Nobody thought I was trying to be cute or something?? Hello everybody!!! Hope everyone's having a great day! sudo
  11. Belle, A lot of us have looked into these matters, believe me. I'm not "up" on the subject anymore as I looked into all this many years ago but it became pretty obvious to *me* that the whole god concept was just myth. The religious writings of a lot of the religions have the same characteristics and if you didn't know what you were reading, you couldn't tell if it were the Book of Mormon, the Koran, the Bible or any of those "apocrophal" books you mentioned. Therefore I caution you not to think about it too much. You'll go crazy if you do. Think about it tomorrow . BTW... this should probably be moved to the Doctrinal forum, doncha' think? sudo
  12. Cowgirl, I'm a little late coming into this but I think I've got it nailed... it's the Coke theme, isn't it? From way back in the early 70's where they were trying to act like flower children/hippies because it was cool at the time?? I liked it. sudo (so GOOD at this)
  13. Sushi, Ah! You knew exactly where we were, huh? You might have even had your own two feet on the very spot of ground where I was pictured, eh? Small world isn't it? Here's another pic... Where were we?? sudo P.S. Hey Rick!! You haven't answered. Is my guess based on your clue correct? Is the Movie "Pretending To Work"???? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Oh dear me.... What have I started now ? I'm sure Belle is some kind of ticked at me for derailing her nice thread, too. Sorry, Ted... looks like you're in the thick of it and I'm too much the gentleman to talk about poles... in the presence of ladies! ;). Hee-hee! sudo
  15. Geeze, And here I am racking my brian what to get Carol for our 20th wedding anniversary next week. We went on a Bermuda cruise "as our present to each other" but everyone KNOWS I have to get her SOMETHING. Oh well... I didn't mean to de-rail the thread. Carry on! sudo
  16. Dang Rick! And Cowgirl seemed so SURE it was Veggi Tales, too. But I didn't think Veggie Tales was a big time movie. Hmmmm... was it by any chance, "Pretending To Work"??? Just a wild guess. Hee-hee! :P Re:"...then you say we're posting too much! Damned if we do, and damned if we don't! Heck.." Yeah?? Well, the floggings will continue around here until morale improves!! Now back to work! sudo
  17. Kathy, Here's what's going on. Google is simply caching pages for their search engine. There's hot competition among the search engines. Yahoo! was the one time leader but while they weren't looking, Google took over and it was very fast. Do any of you remember how frustrating it used to be to find stuff on the internet before Google? I remember trying out one of those freeware programs that would do a simultaneous search using about 10 search engines like Alta Vista, Lycos I can't remember them all now but..... they ALL were inadequate. Then someone told me about Google. I tried it once and never went anywhere else again. Oh, I still use Yahoo! for people search but that's about it. I've tried and sure enough, you can search for specific posts on Google and it will have a lot of them available. Of course, WayDale and the old greasespot is no longer on line but you click on the 'cached' option and there it is. That's a good thing to remember, too folks, on any search you do but can't seem to open the link.. click on the 'cached' option. sudo
  18. Rick, I'm back from my trip to Allentown and excursions and I have to tell you.. we've got a player in Cowgirl because she's the only one who knows this one. I'm more along the lines of George... I don't know where I was during this big hit. But I bet Cowgirl is going to razz us :(. Look guys... we're having fun but really.. we shouldn't have so many tunes posted at one time. This has led to hard feelings in the past. I've had to try and explain to more than one person in the past who has had their feelings hurt because they thought people were ignoring them and/or their posts. Case in point.. though I know Kathy isn't upset she posted a TV theme that only Mooney knew. George didn't know. And all others just ignored and went to other subjects. As if Kathy hadn't posted a thing. I've been playing a bit of catch-up but here's the one she posted... click HERE! And its such a great theme on several levels, too. It's a classical music piece. It's from a great anthology series and it's nostalgia TV to the max. But it just sort of slipped on by mostly un-noticed. We have a great time here. We get folks who come and stay a while because they feel nice and comfy here. I would like to see that continue... for all of us. So lets see if we can't limit it to three outstanding before any more tunes are introduced. OK? I don't want anyone getting burned out. So quick question... how many *DO* we have outstanding right now??? sudo Where I've been
  19. Kathy, Canon thingee?? As in.. (Click HERE!) Pachelbel's Canon in D Major?? We're sooooo bad in not 'splaining things long after folks are done dealing with them. Ah.. Pachelbel's canon... so sublime and peaceful. And since it was written 100's of years ago so, that sez that .... we're still affected by the same things as back then. sudo
  20. Hey Kathy! I don't know what got mixed up and what didn't but you just posted two tunes that I saw. The first one demands you take a shower or something and the second is what we were discussing earlier, right? Someone who runs from justice? Right?? How am I doing? Rick... I'm still Billy Joel in Allentown. Ewwwww... sudo
  21. Kathy, I was reading somewhere that the reason you rarely saw the show in syndication was because the TV station had to agree to show all the episodes in order.... from first to last. Good TV show. sudo (goofing off in Billy Joel's Allentown)
  22. Hi guys!! I'm here in Allentown for Thanksgiving. I've put the turkey on and have sneaked upstairs to get my computer fix. More later.. but I had to say this.. bravo to Hiway29 who picked up on the lone clue I gave for the movie production company theme. sudo
  23. Exie, Yeah, they sure did. Three years. Why do you think that is?? You grow out of it in three years, 'ya think?? :P sudo (figures Catholic priests would know about such spiritual matters)
  24. Rick, That option to remove the name from the music files is 'ID tags'. You can check to preserve them or not. Great freeware little program. Lookie... we're leaving town tomorrow morning. Going to Allentown, PA for Thanksgiving with Carol's side of the family. I'll probably be able to at least get on line and post but I just don't know how much as I'll have family obligations to fulfill. They'll have several coolers full of different kinds of beer from all over the world and none of my brothers-in-law are the kind of expert that *I* am on beer. Therefore.... I'll have lots of beer tasting and opinions to give. And as you might suspect... that's a lot of stress on a guy. I've got to get it just right to save face. There will also be oysters to shuck. Oh, not those itsy-bitsy oysters they have up in New England. Gads no!! My brother-in-law Chee always brings 'em up from a secluded location in the Carolinas. Big... fat... sassy oysters. Ummmm... lots of obligations, Rick. But I'm counting on you to carry on. Get Kathy to help. I know you guys can DO IT! So in leaving for the evening... if not a tad bit more.... let me leave you guys with another movie studio theme because... that's just the way I do things. Click HERE! and name the famous studio that always makes me think of The Three Stooges. sudo
  25. Hiway29, Did you know that Marlo Thomas had a birthday yesterday? How old do you think she was?? Would it surprise you to know that the alluring young lady we remember turned 68? Geeze.. as if I didn't need any more proof that I'm becoming an old man. At least Betty Boop is just as sexy as she was in the 1930's. Another young lady had her birthday yesterday, too. One that we all will remember wearing a bikini (and looking SO GOOD in it I might add) and dancing around go-go style. Anyone need a defimition of go-go as it pertained to the 1960's? Anyways, she turned 60 years old fer heaven's sake. Who am I talking about??? Why no other than.. Goldie. So Rick.. you think we can get Cowgirl getting tunes, converting them with DMC, uploading them to your server and THEN posting them?? That's a lot to ask don't you think? But look at Chatty... you got HER to do that. Maybe. Juuuuust maybe Cowgirl can be talked into doing it too. Your Medical Center might have encouraged her but who's interested in a middle-of-the-day soap opera like Medical Center? Uh, or am I thinking about General Hospital? Oh, whatever!!! Hey Cowgirl!!! Like Rick said... I've got a program for you. Actually... you can get it free HERE! but it converts MP3 files to WAV files and vice versa. It actually converts most ANY sound file to any other. IF you have an interest.. e-mail me at: dbdbdb@midsouth.rr.com and I can get you started. The tune you posted of Born Free?? I would have downloaded... edited it... renamed it... uploaded it to Rick's server and then posted it as.... well, just click HERE! and see that no information about the music is given. Now aren't *I* the clever one??? sudo
