Sushi, Good version of Pachelbel's Canon... here's the link all cleaned up.... Click HERE! and ladies... is this movie perchance a ... chick flick???? sudo
-
Morgan, Oh... Obviously that's easy enough. Well, I never saw it. sudo

Ckeer, Good links! It's obvious you took some time to find them. Thanks!! sudo

Catcup, I thought Innies now-a-days were kind of like Jehova's Witnesses when it came to recognizing Christmas. They don't even say the name, Christmas, right? It's happy Ho-ho now? So.. they give gifts?? I would have thought that most Innies couldn't afford much more than left over Halloween candy from what all I've heard lately. They have to send all they possibly can to New Knoxville. sudo P.S. Innies do Halloween? I thought the 'present truth' said that was debbilish now.

Cowgirl, I hope you don't get too upset with us about this. I've looked at quilting... and the American flag.. scratching my head but.. heck, I don't know. And really.... I'm not that good at that sort of thing anyways. You know how some people are really good at crossword puzzles, scrabble or other verbal games? I always was low man on the pole. My wife watches Wheel Of Fortune and can get those puzzles WAY before I can. However, I clean her clock when we watch Jeopardy! Like Hiway29, I just know a lot of stuff. You'd want me on your team if we were playing Trivial Persuit. I'm telling you all this because we ALL like having you here. You're a big asset. And I don't want you getting your feelings hurt because it appears that nobody's playing with you. I'm just no good at that game is all. Really. sudo

Geeze Ron, I feel for 'ya... I suggest to keep coming back to this thread. Over and over. There's sure to be some interesting stuff posted with just YOU in mind! sudo

Ohh.. just lookie... Good tune, Rick.. folks know it, too. Good going Pawtuckett! And what do you win?? Click HERE! for the Harry Chapin song. In good MP3 format. :D sudo P.S. GREAT to see you Wasway! I remember your song from before, too. Glad you had time to pop in as I know you're working 7 days a week now for a while.

Hey guys... I'm back from Opryland and I've brought back some fun stuff to post. But first... gots to get a good night's sleep. I DO want to say one thing, though. Hiway29 is some kind of good at this stuff ain't he? I'm impressed I can tell you. See you guys tomorrow. Don't you just LOVE this time of year?? :D sudo

Greetings from the Gaylord Optryland in Nashville! The seminar starts in 15 minutes but this place has an internet cafe so I'm gettin' my internet fix. Ahhh!! That's better. Morgan is closer in the year estimate... I believe it was 1957. I was thinking Wyatt Earp was after that but maybe not. If Paw's lurking I'll let him give another clue.. it's HIS file after all. sudo

I hate to eat and run but... I'm doing just that. I've sampled and enjoyed the feasts of music offerings here but I am leaving. And where I go you can not follow. But here's what Pawtuckett sent me... authenticated grade 'A' Nostalgia by an independent not-for-profit agency. I post it for your enjoyment because where I go can not. 'Tis sad but true. I am taking a leave of absence as there are issues more pressing for me at the moment than caretaking the Nostalgia thread. So as I leave you now... here's what Pawtuckett sent me... Click HERE! and listen with a purpose. It's golden nostalgia without a doubt. But who IS is it??? I don't expect you to know who it is. Oh, maybe I'm expecting Hiway29 to know ...(Heck *I* didn't know) but other than that listen and hear all the clues... the question you have to answer is, what year was it produced?? sudo P.S. Cowgirl.. great post. And the answer to my question? Where was that version of Carol of the Bells from??? None other than, Home Alone believe it or not. P.P.S. You all can't go where I'm going because I'm going to Nashville's Gaylord Opryland's hotel for a dental continuing education course and NONE of ya'll are dentists!! (I don't think). But I'll be back Sunday at the latest!!

Kathy, Aw.... Shell sent me this pic taken of that mouse at your office. Please have mercy! Poor little mousey!! He just wants to be loved!!!! sudo

Cowgirl, *I* saw the video!! Good internet hunting, girl!! Here's one from a Christmas classic movie that nearly everyone here has seen. Click HERE! and name the movie!! sudo (telling you guys... you've ALL seen this movie at least ONCE)

Hiya' Bagpipes!! I see you've started posting so good for you! Since you were in TWI for 28 years, you would have to be about my age... 53. You don't have to give out your age, of course, but most of us are the same, uh, vintage though I'm probably the oldest. I think Bluzeman (Rick) is the baby 'round here. Do you like the old TV and movie themes? That's mostly what we do but have gotten off on a Christmas tangent and whatnot lately. I'm guessing you're female, too. Then again.. you don't have to say if you don't want to but DO join in and let's have some fun! It's good to have you here! sudo
-
Ex, Hope you had a happy birthday, girl!! sudo
-
Cowgirl, What can I say? I was never very good at that sort of thing so don't take it personally. My forté has always been old theme songs and such. But don't let me be such the wet blanket. If its nostalgia.. its welcome here. sudo
-
Rick, You have some explaning to do, chum. What do you mean by your continued presence "down here" on this forgotten, neglected thread anyways? Oh, I felt sorry for them, too, but godly charity goes only so far... God doesn't want us doing too much for folks.. that's HIS department after all. You seem to be neglecting Nostalgia which is after all... The One True Thread© (praise be upon its name). You know the priorities in life. 1) Taking care of Sudo 2) The One True Thread© and 3)Family, wife kids, job and all that stuff. Looks like you need a little getting back to basics. sudo

Mooney, Just tell Ted to check out the Heidi's stud farm thread sudo

Cowgirl, I'm here to tell you all about server space but first... I have another Christmas treat for everybody. The songs this time of year can be so sweet and touching. This one is one of my favorites and can bring a tear to the eye of even an old Scrooge!! Just click HERE! Now "server space" that Rick mentioned. That's space on an internet computer where you can upload your songs (or anything else) that you would like to be able to link to on a post so everyone can hear your song or see your picture. And what I mean "link to" is... that's how everyone can hear the songs we post here on the Nostalgia thread. We get the songs we want everyone to hear (through hook or crook) and then we take them from our computer and send them to an internet computer. There are a few ways of doing that. I use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client which is a program someone sent me. But you can do it using Internet Explorer (which you are probably using right now to view this post) as well. You just have to know what to type in the Address bar and passwords and whatnot. But after we have sent (uploaded) our music files onto an internet server. Then, when we post, we include "links" to that song on that server Like I was telling Bowtwi a couple of days ago... you might want to look at that post. This is a big business. Selling internet server space. Individuals usually are given a VERY small amount of space by their ISP's (internet service provider) for home web page use. Up there in Canada, I think your ISP gives you 5 meg. That's good for one or at most two good MP3 songs :(. Companies and corporations pay big bucks to have server space. I'm telling you this so you will appreciate what Rick (Bluzeman) makes available for FREE here for us. I have been given space on his bluzecentral. net server and it's where I upload and link to most of the songs I post here. Kathy has been given space, too, as well as Wasway (he'll be back when his job slows down he told me) and Sushi. Now he's gone and offered YOU free space as well. That's very generous of him, Cowgirl, and I just wanted you to know what it was worth. But there's a learning curve in doing all of this stuff. Kathy got it down, pat, though and Bowtwi is learning. Heck, I didn't have anyone around to help me and I learned to do it just fine, too :P. You can PM me or Rick and we can talk you through this thing. It's a LOT of fun and I hope you take Rick up on his offer. You are a real asset here! sudo

Naw naw naw guys... The penguins actually like it!! Sometimes they do it wearing handcuffs. sudo (wondering why everyone thinks he's strange)

Mooney, I doubt you'll really want to know how I did it but you asked... and it would be rude of me to ignore you. So here's how I did it: When I got my high score looking me in the face on the monitor, I hit the PrtScn (print screen) button on the keyboard which is usually located between the F12 button and the Scrolllock button. That puts the image onto the clipboard. I then open the clipboard (usually located in your 'accessories' files) and save the image as a CLP file. I then open that file with a freeware program called Irfanview which will convert the CLP file to a JPG file. Then I open the saved JPG file with Corel's Photo-Paint program where I crop it and resize it. Then, I upload the modified file to an http server using an FTP client called Flash. Then I link to it in my post. I said you really didn't want to know sudo (who qualifies as a tech nerd)

A big welcome to Morgan!!!! Sorry my Christmas song didn't come out well on your speakers. Was it too loud or something? I know the quality wasn't that good. I can post the good quality one if you liked the song. If I know people have good speakers, I'll let them know if it's (in *my* opinion) a really good song so they can turn the speakers up. I have one computer at home with really good speakers (and a sub-woofer) and another with $19.95 speakers that allow me to do little more than identify songs. Bowtwi.... Yes, there was some confusion over WHICH of my two songs people were saying was Anne Murray. I put both in the same post. The first one (click HERE!) was yours and the other one (click HERE!) was my Christmas song that Morgan didn't care for :( . Cowgirl knew it right off, though... it was Anne Murray and Kathy heard the Calypso thing in it that I did. You know what?? I may just look into the origins of that song because I KNOW it sounds Caribbean! Rick... BRAVO!!!!!!! great nostalgia with the Nöelco commercial. They ran that thing for YEARS at Christmas time. sudo (figuring all have been guessed now?)
-
You know guys... I used to have to resort to this sort of thing on the Nostalgia thread when it got really slow. You know... post something REALLY easy like the theme to The Beverly Hillbillies to get someone.... ANYONE to post. I see Rick's doing the same thing to help out here (posting a ridiculously easy one) so I'll do my part and answer it.... All gassed up and dying for some football. Sheesh. Nothing to this thread. I wonder why I haven't read it more often??? sudo
-
Mooney, Yeah yeah.... but I've gots PROOF!!!! Hee-hee! sudo (master batter ) P.S. That's BATTER.... not BAITER!!
