I see I have to post a tune that EVERYBODY knows.. If everyone didn't know I Dream Of Jeannie then SURELY they will know the next one. A hint... it had to do with a skipper and his mate on a three hour tour. So click HERE! and tell me this isn't the beloved theme song you listened to while watching the skipper, the professor, the millionaire, his wife and all! sudo (who preferred Mary Ann to Ginger)

Let's just count our blessings shall we?? We're rid of one sicko who was the canniballé and the canniballizer is in custody.. probably for a LONG time. What's not to like? Maybe we ought to encourage these types to advertise more. Get in touch with each other. Let their true feelings out and do away with puritanical constraints that inhibit their full expression of the zest for adventure. sudo (who just LOVES the avant-gardë)
-
Outofdafog, Man! Those parents really need some medical treatment! I feel so sorry for them! Let's just hope they don't get a conservative judge that doesn't understand their illness! sudo
-
Abigail, Re:"Once again, Sudo, I have to take issue with your black and white thinking and labelling." Oh, I kinda' thought you wouldn't like it, Abigail. What liberal *would* like it? We all know what a conservative judge would have done but then as you say.. you're a liberal. Here.. I have a green card for you to fill out to take The Conservative Class. After the class you TOO will see the one true light of conservatism. What? You want me to promise you'll see snowstorms in September or something? No way Jose.. you'll have to take the ADVANCED conservative class for that, lady!!!! sudo

Edi, Yes, it makes one wonder about the judge. I'm not so worried about his "sexual" (rape is about a lot more than sex) proclivities as I am his lack of sound mind and judicial temperment as its called. A man that doesn't "believe" in punushment is a judge in Vermont? This whole thread could get moved to the Politics Forum but this is a prime example of the thinking of liberals. And what is that exactly in this case? 1) that perps in jail are victims, too, and deserve treatment and 2) punishment doesn't work. You hear all kinds of permutations of the last one, Edi. Things, like "capital punishment has been proven not to work". It's not only stupid, it's illogical. If the cops start shooting speeders on the interstate and it becomes known, you will have a LOT less speeding on the interstates. Believe me. And I don't ask folks to take a lot "on faith". sudo

I said I was going to post a new TV theme yesterday but didn't... When I logged on after getting home, Ala had the Tennesse Waltz up and I got distracted. There's nothing to guess now is there? OK.. here's one from the 60's we all watched so going back to how good some people are at this... consider yourself good if you get this one the 2nd note. I'm only posting a few seconds to begin with. We've done this one before so if you were around then you might want to act real coy. I'm curious as to how our new players are going to react. It's not that I was partiularly crazy about the show but everyone watched it. I felt they really messed up with the marriage thing. Is that when it jumped the shark? Click HERE! sudo
-
Ala, Yes, Patsy Cline did The Tennessee Waltz but we had a band at our wedding that played it. Oh, we had a great wedding reception with a big band orchestra, an open bar, hot food and lotsa' dancing. My parents' Baptist friends nearly fainted! Hey.. Eva somebody? Uh, Did she have a brother named David?? sudo
-
Ala, I LOVE that version and no.. I don't know who it is. But as I was looking around, I found another great version I think everyone will like... Click HERE! Hard to say which one I like best. Kathy.. you may well know who Ala's singer is but just in case... you're not confusing Ala's singer with Patsy Cline are you?? I can assure you it's not Patsy. When Carol and I got married, out first dance together at the reception (you know when everyone has to watch the bride and groom dance solo before the nad plays for everyone to dance) was to the Tennessee Waltz. A real tear jerker. sudo
-
Hi Rick! I'm doing the same as you.. Sorry, George.. I don't know the guy either but... I'll have a new oldie TV theme up later this afternoon after I get home! Cocker! sudo (or is that terrier? Oh I remember... Chow!)
-
MaryPoppins, Yes, I understand you would not have believed me. So, I'll have to give you another link for you to believe me when I say there are people saying Judge Cashman did the right thing. Just look below at the link to the idiocy. How could this be you ask??? Because the prison system in Vermont (a very liberal state) doesn't offer medical TREATMENT for child rapists.. So the judge releases him so he can get treatment. Poor guy. "But Cashman is also right in saying that society is best protected when inmates receive the treatment they need at the appropriate time. It is time to fix the system rather than crowding it with an ever-increasing number of inmates for whom the system has failed." For the link to the editorial in a Vermont newspaper this came from click HERE! What's next? Treatment for murderers? Bank robbers? Maybe some of our left leaning Greasespotters here will come to their senses when they see this. sudo (always irritated at fools masquerading as the intelligentsia)
-
MaryPoppins, Heck, that's nothing... you want to talk sick? How about a judge who doesn't believe in punishment? Even for a man *convicted* of raping a 7 year old child many times over the course of several years. Click HERE! sudo (who can't fathom liberal judges)

Pirate, Rick was saying you'd remember when this thread started. Will it really be 5 years this Spring? I was mentioning how the Father Knows Best theme was the first one I posted. If I remember correctly, but Dennis the Menace was like number 2. Since we have a bunch of new players, we'll some of those again. I started the thread because I had found a bunch of those old TV themes on the internet and was playing them for people on my computer. What I found out was that either people could name them or they couldn't. Even very well known themes like the I Love Lucy theme. I was astounded when my sister-in-law who for a while was a singer in a band couldn't name those that most of us here could name in two notes. It's been fun, huh? sudo
-
Alright... The show was Father Knows Best. Heck, I liked the show myself and saw Robert Young in a very favorable light. I wasn't alone... it was a top rated show but as Hiway29 points out, he DID have a drinking problem. Now how 'bout this lady from the series??? She is Mrs. Sarak Spock here. She is today, in her '90s. sudo
-
Wordwolf, Hey guy! Thanks! I didn't know there WAS a free version but I went and got it... followed the directions and it works great! Many times I'd like to send a single document and now I can do it. Why, I oughta' give you a big hug! sudo
-
Okay... Getting back to the nostalgia tune I posted (Click HERE!) that only Hiway29 knew.. Looks like I'm going to have to give hints. Some of you youngsters may not remember the TV show that well. It was a family sitcom, I guess you would call it today. It had a father, a mother two daughters and a son. One of the daughters was a real kitten, I can tell 'ya! Hiway29 is going to have to elaborate a little more on why he hated this show after everyone gets it because... I liked the show. *I* thought it taught some good lessons and was very heart warming  . sudo (still marveling at those violins!)

Hey Kathy! I'm listening but haven't been posting trying to find a way to convert those M4P files. Haven't found out how to do it with version 6.0 and later. See 'ya when you get back! sudo
-
Ala, Yes.. I understand but do YOU understand that you are uploading and linking to M4P files? Specifically, in your last post, you linked to Trooper.m4p. I can't play that file so I can't listen to it. I just thought you'd want to know that :) . sudo
-
Ala, You are doing this from itunes?? I can't play those (m4p) files :( sudo
-
Now you guys will understand why I don't use such tools... I hire it done. I slipped too many times working on my car with a crescent wrench (because I didn't have the right size wrench) as a teenager, slashing my grease coated knuckles. As I'd look down in pain at a sight of black grease coated fingers bleeding bright red... I SWORE that one day I wouldn't have to do this kind of work. I haven't even changed my own oil in nearly 30 years. sudo

Invisible Dan, Yes, the fanatic religionists are the scourge of this planet. They are the source of most of humanity's suffering. How many innocent people were killed just today in Iraq by suicide bombers? Killed by people who believe that they are going to their eternal reward by killing these people? Don't think for a minute that I see Christian fundies any differently than I do the Islaamic variety. But you ask a good question.. Re:"But I'm curious as to the dilemma you must undergo when stepping into the voting booth, if casting your votes toward that party line which encompasses those very "fundamentalists" you enschew." My alternative to voting Republican is voting for a party that rejects personal responsibility. And *THAT* is a bigger problem for the continued viability of our culture than a bunch of Baptists. The Democrats see criminals as victims of their upbringing. They promote class envy and are the force behind political correctness. They promote "rights" that couldn't be imagined a generation ago (folks with Tourette's Syndrome must be allowed in workplaces and classrooms even though they are cursing a blue streak) and negate consequences for personal laziness. In short, the Democrats don't want folks to feel guilty over any of their misdeeds or slothful habits. Just makes them lose self esteem doncha' know. How about this latest example in Vermont? A liberal judge sentenced a child rapist to 60 days in prison because he doesn't believe in punishment. He's a dang judge and doesn't believe in punishment? Oh, he USED to believe in punishment but doesn't think "it works" . And because there were no facilities in prison for "treating" the rapist he gave said child rapist only 60 days. And you ask me with a straight face why I don't vote for liberals? A liberal judge who doesn't believe in punishment? Doesn't surprise me. Liberals don't think you should even spank your kids. Heck, its child abuse if you do. What? You think conservatives are the ones who brought this thinking about? The child can be on the floor of the grocery store flailing his arms and legs, screaming like a banshee and the parent is helpless to deal with it in today's legal enviornment. What that child needs, is to be yanked up and beat like Hades for about 30 seconds. But no.. might ruin his psyche or some such nonsense. I might just ask *YOU* Danny how you could vote for Democrats who not only seem to have no common sense about human nature but are hellbent on destroying our society! Dang!!!! Oh.. for a link on the fuzzy thinking liberal judge in Vermont?? Click HERE! sudo (who gets *REALLY* ticked at stupidity)

Mo, So what you're saying is that Ananias and Sapphira had it coming, eh? Screw up that bad and you're going to drop dead on the spot? Then how could Pat Robertson's position be considered so extreme? All he has to do is point to this little example and say God does things like that. But I think YOU know that mainstream Christianity doesn't cotton to saying God causes strokes. Actually, I'm not sure what the going theology is now-a-days. Does God ever chastise or punish people? It doesn't matter. Mainstream Christianity still doesn't believe he causes strokes in world leaders, I don't think. sudo

Cowgirl, Nice tune. I kept it and placed it in my rather large music library on my hard drive. I had Puff but not that one. Did you know they still get together and play their old songs? At least they did a few years ago... Hey ALA!! Good going there. I had to convert the m4a file to an MP3 to hear it, though, like Kathy said in Windows Media Player. How did you guys listen to it? RealPlayer? I don't have that loaded on this computer. Kathy.. that Dennis the Menace theme you posted was one of the very first I posted way back when I started this thread on WayDale. Wanna' know what the very first one posted?? And this one even pre-dates Dennis the Menace. Click HERE! Whoever composed this tune must have hated violin players! Man! Listen to them GO! sudo
-
Danny, What? He's a Republican? You hadn't told me that! Why that changes Everything! Re:"would you, Sudo, as a Republican, have wanted someone like this occupying a position of close proximity to the proverbial "big red button"?" And why not? You all are picking on Rev. Robertson just because he's a Republican and ya'll KNOW I'm a Republican! Give the guy a break. Hee-hee! Just kidding guys but didn't Jehova strike dead (or allow the Devil if you prefer) Ananias and his good wife Sapphira for just holding back a little?? And is this not the New Testament? With the all new loving Jehova? Not that nasty 'ole fellow from the Old Testament that was all the time wiping out whole populations or commanding others to do it for him? >> ¶ But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.... And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, So the question to the FANATIC fundamentalists (I'll accept that Templelady) would be: How do you refute Rev. Pat when he can point to places in the Bible where God still does stuff like this? If God would kill Christians for a little lying and holding back some money how can you argue with Rev. Pat that he wouldn't do it to someone who isn't even born again? sudo
-
Hey guys.. Are there any Christian fundamentalists out there?? Check out the latest from pat Robertson by clicking HERE! What I'm thinking is that he's gone WAAAAY over the edge too many times to be taken seriously but evidently there are lots of folks who agree with him. So whatcha' think? I'll be upfront.. fundamentalists are a scourge on this planet. Doesn't matter if they are Muslim, Jewish, buddhist whatever. They are the primary reason we don't have peace on Earth today. And what does 'ole Gawd loving Pat do?? He just stokes the fires oh boy. Gives the Muslims plenty of ammo when they want to point fingers at American Xians. Relgious fundies?? Really... they are evil people. Not much different from the suicide bombers who think that they are not only doing Jumpin' Jehosaphat's will... but are going to be eternally rewarded for killing innocent victims. Who would blow themselves up otherwise? These are religious.. nay... VERY religious people. sudo (up to HERE with religious people)

Jay North got a little wild in his teenage years I am told... I had a friend back in junior high school who SWORE she met him at a party right here in Memphis. I couldn't believe it. Oh, surely it was someone who LOOKED like Jay North or something. I didn't think this girl would lie to me. But no, she said, it was Jay North and he was getting drunk and doing drugs. Well, lo and behold, if I didn't find out that he WAS in town that weekend for some promotional something or another. Made me go Hmmmmmm...... sudo
