  2. Check it out gaming fans... http://www.quailhuntingschool.com/index.php sudo P.S. I've qualified!! Click HERE!
  3. Da-de-da-de-da-daaaa.... I've got a new toy..... I've got a new toy.... da-de-da-de-da-daaaaa. And to celebrate?? A little appropriate music, I'd say. And what could be more appropriate for a new toy??? Why click HERE! and guess just what the heck it came from!!!! And if that is a stumper... guess what the new toy is!! Rick will know right off because knows about these things. And with the rest of you guys getting more and more computer and internet saavy... I wouldn't be TOO suprised to see others getting it, too!!! sudo
  4. Moony, Re:"Had to post just to bump this thread to its rightful place on top." You did the right thing, girl. THIS thread is the one true thread in the Reading Gallery and should always have dominion over the wannabe threads. We even have our own cop outs who post over on those infidel threads but do I say anything? But noooo.. they'll be name-that-tune greasespots by midnight, I tell 'ya!! As I was thinking about the early Beatles, I remembered that Summer after they appeared on Ed Sullivan. The Summer of 1964 when the battle for top place on the pop radio charts was between The Beatles and The Beach Boys. I went out with my hard earned allowance money and bought the 45 of the #1 song that Summer and it was by The Beach Boys. I wouldn't be a teenager until September but this song held all the promise of what I was in store for! And I could hardly wait! I played this song over and over on that "record player" I posted and dreamed of the life style I was hearing about. Just click HERE! and tell me if that wasn't every adolescent American boy's dream? Two years later I had my first real girlfriend. The first girl I actually "made out" with. Her name was Sue Howard and she not only had the prettiest brown eyes but she was crazy about me! I went over to her house on Friday nights and watched TV. OK.. we mainly smooched but we did it while watching TV. That's why I remember EXACTLY when this TV show came on because Sue Howard and I were on her parents' couch "watching TV" when this came on Friday night. Click HERE! and name the show. sudo
  5. We've been making light and that's good.. because these folks are nut cases. No no no no.... I meant they have valid opinions that differ from ours but they are no less important and they support rights to those who can't speak for themselves... poor little animals.. Just for the record guys.. these PETA folks are not only against your being able to buy meat in the grocery store (or anywhere else) but against using lab mice for testing new drugs to see if the drugs cause cancer. They call that "speciesism". Where people discriminate against a species (like lab rats) by injecting THEM with new drugs to see the results rather then injecting humans. Does this sound ludicrous to you? It does to me. sudo
  6. PETA= People Eating Tasty Animals sudo
  7. I wanted to throw this one up just to see if anyone likes it. Remember when I was telling you guys about hearing the song One in a movie theatre and rushing back to the computer to find it? Well, I heard a tune yesterday on our public radio station yesterday that really caught my attention. However, I couldn't find a good version of it. I played it for sudossuda and she wasn't particularly enamored over it so none of you guys might like it either. Still, it makes me just want to jump and clap. Funny, how one person can LOVE a song and another person almost loathe it, huh? Anyways, here's the MP3 and the easier downloadable WAV sudo

    Reoccuring dreams

My main recurring dream is a lot like Engine Rob's.... I'm back at Ole Miss having to re-take classes. The reason isn't clear. But it's the same class schedule as when I was there before.... only..... I can't exactly remember what all is on the schedule. Then I remember a class I haven't been attending AT ALL and it's close to the end of the semester!! Panic time! I've heard several folks tell me (like Engine) that they have this same recurring dream with a few different details. But the significance of all this? No significance at all, IMNSHO. It's just the mind day dreaming at night. Freud himself said that in dreams, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar sudo
  9. Wasway, Are you telling me it was just a co-incidence that you posted the same tune Kathy had posted just this morning? Man... are YOU guys on the same wave lenght. I knew it if only because we had talked about how the 2nd banana in the show wound up getting all the teen girls' attention . Like my sister and her goofy friend Darlene Griffith. Sheesh.. Give me a break.. the guy is now a 60-ish year old guy as ugly as the rest of us. Just like Davey Jones -_- . sudo

    The Cone of Winter

We're sure getting a taste of it. But do you think we'd get good fluffy snow?? But nooooooo... we get sleet and ice. With more predicted for tomorrow. And this is Memphis fer heavens sake. Here'my street (showing the ice) and my poor puppy who needs some grooming and doesn't know what to think about the frozen stuff!! .... sudo
  12. Hello you early birds!! We're having a wintry weather day.. mostly sleet. I love my digital camera. Even though it's relatively a cheapie I can still run take a pic and throw it up in a post or e-mail in minutes! Here's one from my front porch just a few minutes ago... I've got to tell kathy that even though I'm sure Hiway29 is completely correct as usual (we're lucky to have someone like him here, doncha' think) I remember it like she does. But she remembers things that I don't.. like Rick's Saturday good morning song... never heard it. But Mr. Spaceman?? Hee-hee! I'd forgotten all about that one but yes... remember it I do. Don't know who did it though.. maybe a one-hit wonder?? I've been thinking about that original Meet The Beatles album and what a giddy time that was for America. We were ripe for the British Invasion. JFK had been assasinated just 3 months previously. We had already started our involvement in Vietnam and we were starting to hear the casualties. Yes, America was ready for some light diversion. Anyone here old enough... (and I don't THINK Rick quite makes it).... was surely in front of the TV at least one of the three times The Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan. It was something! So here's one of the songs they played that very first night. I have it in a good quality stereo MP3 file but as I was listening to it, it sounded different. Not like I remembered it. But after I converted it to a mono well THEN I heard what I remembered.. that's how it sounded on our record player! Here's a pic I found of about how our record player looked. It had a lid just like this one. I mean.. it looked a LOT like this one and of course.. had the one single (I'm guessing) 3" speaker. For that song that drove the girls wild.. Click HERE! sudo
  13. To those or us that left before POP this seems really strange you have to realize.. To have TWI say that we had to attend?? It just didn't happen before POP and I think that most folks pre-Craig thought in terms of "grace" and not "law" and would have rejected it out of hand. I say that.. but remember how most still adhered to Mal 3:10. sudo
  14. Jonny, Its obvious you're a proud papa. Now.. where do Greasespotters go to get their discounts on the Taku?? :) sudo
  15. Kathy, Ah! I was right! 60's! Now don't get upset just because I got it from your clues, my dear. Keep in mind mother always liked you best so THERE!!!! sudo P.S. I got it first Hiway29!!!
  16. Dang Kathy!!! You've done GOOD!! You've picked out a TV theme that I KNOW I've heard but can't place exactly. That style sounds like mid 60's to me.. a little like The Lucy Show... or even the Don't Eat The Daisies that you posted. You do know what you have to do now don't you?? You have to post hints! This is fun!! And one that stumped Hiway29 no less! As a follow up (sorry I've been absent) yes... it was Bing. The first tune that sounds so romantic to me (HERE!) and a follow up.. probably Bing's last performance with an unexpected partner. At least, no one would confuse him with Bob Hope. Wasway once told us he watched this live with his dad who passed away not long afterwards so its sure to be nostalgic for him. Click HERE!. Man, seems like another lifetime ago. sudo
  17. No one knows the crooner?? And I would have thought THAT would have been easier than knowing that Alfalfa was singing to Darla. 'Ya just never know. So here's a hint.. ANOTHER song by said crooner. And not just any song. But one that I remember fondly from the late 50's during a talent show at my elementary school. Mrs. Pickens' 3rd grade class sang this and did all the body language of the various animals involved. I had no idea it was an old song. He was about my age then though he's been gone for a long time now. Rick might recognize the link.. click HERE! sudo
  18. Kathy, I see you at least posted something for Valentine's Day. Here it is late in the evening (for ME anyways) and I haven't posted diddly squat! And you know?? I've gots bunches I could have posted. Umph umph umph. I've got two.. the same song.. Who did this one (click HERE!) and MORE IMPORTANTLY..WHO was he singing to? And Item #2. Click HERE! It's the 1930's. My parents are in elementary school... who's the crooner? sudo (better late than never)

Shell, That's fun! All I got was bobbin bobcat but I'll try again later. sudo (not the swiftest greasespotter)

    Posting Valentines

Aw Geeze Suda.... I love you too!! XOXOXOXO!! Here's a cutie that I think you'll like!! sudo (who might just find an emerald one of these days)
  22. Belle, That post took a lot of effort and I appreciate it. As I was reading it I thought of two things.. 1) How can ANYONE still affiliate themselves with TWI today and 2) How sad it is for these people and their families. I just heard about a couple I've known for years who got M&A'd just two years ago. They had *had* it with TWI and finally left. Their only really close friends had moved away so they weren't really negatively impacted. But still.. what... a ... cult!!!! sudo
  23. Sushi, I don't normally do this but that was a fun song Ala posted so.. I converted it and have linked to it... JUST FOR YOU!!! Just click HERE! sudo
  24. As my kids would say.. Kewl!! sudo
