Satori, It's my understanding, too, that these guys aren't going to stop molesting children if they get the chance. Chemical castration? I duuno if that would stop the behavior but I have a feeling the courts would rule it "cruel and unusual". Then where are we? I like what Abigail said about Michigan. I didn't know about the proposed law but these folks can't be let back into society. sudo
-
Satori, Re:"But what if my child had become a victim? Sure, the perp would be dealt with." By whom? By you???? By safe harbor "authorities"?? What we've been talking about is what happens to the perps. Are we mis-communicating perhaps? sudo

Sprawled Out, Re:"...but what do you think? Did God speak audibly to VP?" That depends on what you choose to believe when there is no proof for.. The Truth™. Do you think God Almighty spoke to Moses from a burning bush? That He made an foot speak to Baalam (or whatever his name was) and raised Cheesus from the dead? Then speaking to VPW wouldn't have been that big a deal would it? So tell me, Sprawled Out... do *YOU* think these things happened?? I used to believe in Santy Claus, too but I grew up. But there are plenty of grown ups who believe fantastic things. Like if they blow themselves up for Jihad, Allah will give them 70 virgins in Paradise©. And man.. they really believe it don't they? Blowing themselves up for Muhammed. And folks ask if Jehova made it snow for 'ole VP?? Listen Sprawled Out and I'll tell you a truth that you can bank on.... You can get adult people to believe nonsense that the average 6 year old child would know was a lie. What was the name of those folks who all committed suicide in their dormitory bunks about 10 years back believing they were all going to be taken away on some space ship circling the earth?? Ahgh! I remember!!! The Heaven's Gate guys. All dead in their bunks. But they died *believing*, man. Gawd bless 'em... fools every one. sudo

Kathy, Re:"I wouldn't have wanted him dead." Nawww.... The poor man probably just doesn't understand. Let "The Brotherhood" gently teach him a lesson. sudo
-
Kathy, Re:"But I still don't know who the singer of your link is Sudo." Yeah?? Well neither do I! Maybe the hard core *OF* the hard core would know the lady's name right off. Otherwise?? You'd have to just Google it. But.. run of the mill fans of the movie would at least know where the song came from. :) sudo

Bowtwi... Chas.. Chef!!! Re:"... have never even been in a fight in my life but i would be glad to pull the triger...sell lotto tks for the chance ti pull the triger." Naw naw.. you do the double whammy on 'em. Not just castration because that just takes away desire. You also emasculate them...cut the dillywhacker off flush with the skin. Then for the final insult... you throw 'em in prison... into the general population. Let 'em be the bit*ch for the entire White Aryan Brotherhood. And then let it be widely known what the poor sucker's (literally) fate is... as BIG TIME disincentive to anyone else with similar proclivities comptemplating similar actions. sudo

Female police person?? And for hard core fans of the movie only.. click HERE! sudo (headed back out to the Magic Kingdom)

Dick Cheney and George W. Bush were having breakfast at the White House. The attractive waitress asks Cheney what he would like, and he replies, "I'd like a bowl of oatmeal and some fruit." "And what can I get for you, Mr. President?" George W. replies with his trademark wink and slight grin, "How about a quickie this morning?" "Why, Mr. President!" the waitress exclaims "How rude! You're starting to act like Mr. Clinton, and you've only been in your second term of office for a year! '' As the waitress storms away, Cheney leans over to Bush and whispers..."It's pronounced 'quiche'." sudo

Geo, Thanks. Say, how far away is that castle owned by Hearst? Is that the L.A. area?? I've been to California only one other time back in '96 so I have little knowledge of what to do there. Click HERE! to enjoy and name movie from 1946. I mean, I had to post something since this is the Nostalgia thread, huh? sudo

BTW folks.... We're leaving for Hollywood tomorrow afternoon. Will be staying in the Doubletree in Anaheim. Anyone gots some more good sightseeing suggestions for me??? Hiway29? Any California residents out there? Hmmm???? sudo

Cowgirl, I happen to have that song as an easily downloadable WAV. Click HERE! I've also got the MP3. That's an oldie. sudo

Mark, Its all your fault I want you to know. YOU'RE the one who posted Rita's pic and I've been thinking about her ever since. Did you say you hadn't seen her in Gilda? You see that pic I posted of her? Here's a snippet of what was being sung as she danced on stage. Click HERE! Yeah, I usually post this stuff down on the Nostalgia thread but YOU brought it up. You made me do it. I couldn't help myself and besides... this thread about Brad and his actress girlfriends? I agree with you.. neither girlfriend has a tenth of the allure of Rita Hayworth at her prime. That's my opinion and I ain't changing it! sudo (probably born 30 years too late)

Oenophile, I wouldn't stop at Harvard.. if your kid's that bright, why not shoot for the top? You might could get him in Ole Miss! My daughter is there and really enjoying it. Of course, you would be obligated to attend the football games and party in the Grove but hey... you'd just do that with us, my man. But kidding aside.. I know you're proud. He seems to be a chip off the old block. sudo

Sushi, Re:"Could the singer be a car part+ a flower?" I'm sorry I didn't answer this the first time, Sushi, but I didn't want to appear ignorant. Now you have forced my hand so I have to say... I don't know :( . The song wasn't nostalgia.. it was by Pearl Jam and the lead singer is one Eddie Vedder. Click HERE! for the oldie. George, you can just skip it as you don't care for the song's lyrics which I understand. Anybody heard of The Cavaliers? Nope... Didn't think so. They were a one hit wonder with this song back in 1964 but it was pretty popular. I remember it from late Summer because I was visiting my aunt in Chicago and this song was all over the radio. sudo
-
Kathy, Great choice! But tell me the truth.. did you watch this show at all? I mean it's such a *guy* kind of show. I'm trying to remember the other WWII show on at about that time but it's slipping my brain at the moment. Though WWII was over 7 years before I was born so wasn't a part of my memory, I always felt that it was so close that it was a part of my collective (to steal a trekkie term) so to speak. When this show came on TV, WWII had been over only 15 years previously. That would be like a show today taking place in 1991.. when Bush the first was President. Not that far away, huh? sudo

Dot, Re:"I have tried to figure out what I did wrong for 30 years." Like, duh, Dot.. you've already told us. You were attracted to and went out with the bad boys.. not the good boys. I knew girls like you in high school who wouldn't give me the time of day. I thought even then in my adolescent mind that one day those girls would one day be sorry they were dating future minimum wage earning guys. sudo

This is a vacation I've dreamed of since I was in elementary school. But somehow.. I'm not getting into it yet. Only the well-to-do in my neighborhood could go to Disneyland. There was no Disneyworld back then. The Western vacation consisted of taking off in the station wagon and seeing sights like the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, Mount Rushmore and of course, Disneyland. My grandmother went flew out there in about 1962 to visit my uncle and family and brought back pictures I dreamed about. She had pictures of her and my cousins at Disneyland. And of course, I saw all the promos for the place on Sunday nights with Disney's Wonderful World Of Color. And now I'm finally going. But somehow I'm not too excited. Maybe that will change. Click HERE! sudo

Good luck, Seth.. Hope you get to feeling better! sudo

Hiway29, Yes, its DisneyLAND and not DisneyWORLD. We're flying in to John Wayne airport this Sunday and staying until Friday. Which movie studios do you recommend? Now here's a question.. is this Nostalgia? Or imitation? Click HERE! sudo (thinking about Chicago.. Summer 1964)
