Hey Paw.. Where's the MP3 version? sudo
-
Everyone seemed to have no problems with Whatever Happened To Baby Jane. Knew about cooked rats, too. Yeah, Hiway29 has my number... I'm getting some of these from Turner Cable Movies. I'll record them on my DVD recorder hooked to my TV and then bring the disk up to the computer for a little ripping. They run great nostalgic movies every day. Kathy, folks should get yours because... its been done here. I remember listening to it and not knowing it right off the bat. Then someone gave the answer but you know what?? I can't remember what the answer was. Now, was this one of your favorite TV shows or just one that you watched? Was it in black and white? Here's a little black and white nostalgia from an e-mail I got just this morning. Is there anyone here who doesn't know them ALL??? Black and White sudo

Hey guys, Here's one I haven't ever posted. Not by this performer anyways. Click HERE! Great movie with great performances. My daddy sez he doesn't care for one of the main actresses in this movie but I think its because she played such unpleasant characters! sudo

Ala, Happy birthday, girl.. I'll always think of you when I play one of my new favorite songs. One YOU posted that really got me. Made me think of my parents when they were young... click HERE! And BTW.. we miss you on the Nostalgia thread :( . sudo
-
George, That's a reasonable question. I'd say its just slowed down a bit. Here's one that Kathy and I love but might not be everyone's cup of tea. And I know you don't like large files but heck... I just hate to degrade some really good ones. Click HERE! And can I get an A-men?? sudo

Mark, Re:"... so don't think that I sampled anything stronger than an Amstel in a Brown Cafe." So.. was that decision based on personal preference or duty to a higher calling? Had I visited Amsterdam in the early 70's, I have no doubt I would have sampled all the drugs that were availaible though I was a staunch TWI believer at the time. Even then, though, I doubt I would have sampled the offerings in the windows. Today?? If I were to visit Amsterdam, I would be looking for the best restaurants and fine museums. sudo

PFAL: An Unorthodox Translation
Sudo replied to Tom Strange's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Hello KMC, Now is that Mr. or Mrs KMC? And what does KMC stand for if you don't mind my asking? CK just posted to you introducing himself. Seems kinda' odd that you wouldn't know each other what with your having similar beliefs and all. You know.. criticisms against VPW were (among others) that he stole his 'research' material, plagurized many other authors and out and out lied about God showing him miracles signs and wonders. Have you heard those accusations? That Wierwille was a liar and pretended to be something he was not? If so would you agree that anyone pretending to be something they were not was a liar? And not one to be listened to or trusted?? sudo -
Mark, Re:"His bride is the Church..If he had relations with another, he would be an adulterer." Oh? Even if he were legally married to Mary Magdelene? Where does it say you can't be legally married to several brides? Someone already mentioned that a requirement for some offices in the church is to have only one wife but is that not because that if the office holder had several wives then he wouldn't have time enough to fulfill the obligations of his office? You're thinking there's another reason he should have no more than one wife? Maybe... like its immoral to have more than one wife? Are there scriptures that say having more than one wife is immoral? Didn't good God fearing men in the Old Testament have more than one wife? And what about King David's concubines? Is that OK, too? And why is it that its primarily the Catholics that are having such a problem with this movie? The Da Vinci Code? Here in Memphis there were some protesters at one of the movie houses on opening night and they were Catholics. Down on their knees saying their rosaries. sudo

Hiway29, That's all I was looking for... someone to ask me to post it :P. It's short so it SHOULD load first time for you guys since I've placed it on my Road Runner home page. Anyone recognize the actor? It's a B&W movie but you should still recognize him. He went on to really make something of himself though his movie roles were not so good. There's a notable exception, though. King's Row. I LOVE that movie where he plays Drake McHugh. Oh, and Cassy?? Wasn't she something? In the book she was a nymphomaniac but of course they couldn't portray that on film in 1942. But that really has nothing at all to do with the clip does it?? I was just trying to help you guys out in recognizing the guy... Click HERE! sudo
-
Cool, Which one?? For number 3 click HERE! Now... who IS that? I also (as you may have well suspected) have the good quality MP version if you would like. Bach was something else. sudo

Aw guys.. :( I didn't say I heard it IN the grocery store. I heard it on NPR on the WAY to the grocery store. Now here it is again with explanation at the beginng. After it finishes they give you the name of the group... I bet Raf knows what a rubia is. Click HERE! Oh.. and nobody's asked me to post the most famous line in the Knute Rockne movie. I bet Hiway29 knows what it is! sudo
-
You guys are too good... I'll rip the most famous piece of that film if I'm asked . But in the meantime.. here's something I heard early this morning (I'm up and at 'em at daybreak) on the way to the grocery store. Click HERE! and see if we *AT ALL* have the same tastes in music. Personally? I was enraptured and consider myself fortunate to have found it on the web to store and pass on. If no one has a clue.. I have an explanation but I'll tell you this much.. it was featured in an Academy Award winning movie that I'd bet 90% of you guys have seen! It was just in a different format in the movie. sudo

Peter who?? Now that I think about it.. yeah.. Oakspear... fits him perfectly. Cool dude... on top of the situation.... Man about town and Greasespot citizen extraordinaire! sudo

Cowgirl, You're becoming the "go to" guy for someone wanting tunes. I like that one from Phantom as well. And Shell, I've found the itunes software likes to take over all your file associations on the computer. My middle daughter installed it. I quickly deleted it. Here's another short clip but its about 6 meg so it won't load really fast. Just start it over when it's nearly through playing the first time and it'll be already loaded and not jumpy. Its a famous movie. Name the two actors speaking one of which didn't even get screen credit. Click HERE! sudo

Bozo must not have been as big a deal around HERE as it was in Chicago or New York. But yeah.. I remember Bozo cartoons. Do you guys know what has red hair and lives in a test tube??? Bozo the Clone. Ka-ching bam! But seriously folks... I've been watching a few movies on TCM dealing with Hollywood and race. I've mentioned and posted Birth Of A Nation and yesterday watched Intruder in The Dust. It was filmed in Oxford Mississippi (can I get a Rebel yell here??) back in 1949 and it was so interesting to see the Oxford square (remember I'm down there quite a lot now with my daughter being an Ole Miss student) then compared to now. The movie wasn't a big hit but it was big news to THIS area that a major motion picture was being made in the area. But after the movie, TCM played one of their "one reel wonders"... a 1933 short that featured a future star. I loaded it to the hard drive, clipped it... edited it.. and got it down to 16 megs but that is STLL too large for you guys to watch without it bogging down on first click . So click HERE! and restart it after a bit to let it run through. It's only a minute and a half long. You can RIGHT click on it, too, and save it. Does anyone know who the future star is?? sudo

Outcast, So long and farewell, then. We hardly knew ye! :( sudo

Mark, I missed this post of yours until Igotout's post brought it up to the top. I'm here to second what you said and then some. I use Irfanview ALL the time for dealing with the clipboard. You see something on your computer screen you want to save? A picture perhaps? Well Irfanview is the program for you folks. Hit the PrtScrn button on your keyboard (usually beside the F12 key) and that goes to your Windows clipboard... open your Clipboard (usually located in Accessories) and save it as a Clip (*.CLP) file. Now, open THAT file with Irfan view and you can save it as your usual 'ole JPG for editing.. just lookie at what I did with Mark O'Malley... And Mark... didja' know you can even convert a JPG to an icon (ICO) file you can use for any program?? Here's your St. Kolbe as an icon file.. Click HERE! and tell me what you think!! sudo

Anyone know why I would be posting this?? Click HERE! All the little kids are now eligible for AARP membership :( . sudo

Cowgirl and Chas, That is truly a beautiful song and one of my favorite hymns. We never sang it in the Baptist church when I was growing up but its popular at my current Disciples Of Christ church. We have a pipe organ and choir that can really do it justice, too. sudo
-
Thank you guys! Someone sent me that pic and I had the same feelings ya'll did... that's pretty neat. But.. where do I post it?? I didn't want to make a new thread for it so I just tacked it on here. In the silly forum :) . Makes me wonder how someone came up with that. sudo
-
Alrighty then... lookie at the picture and tell me.. is it a frog?? Or a horse?? Give it a minute, OK?? sudo
-
Kathy, No that's not something I recorded (click HERE!) but rather something I've had for years. Yes, they did a Broadway revival but this is the original with Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler. Man.. now that's good music! sudo
-
Lookie here! It's Chas! Yeah.. I remember when she and Mathman met, too. Has it really been 6 years?? OK.. here's a low quality (so it'll download fast fer ya'll) favorite of mine. You can have your Superman songs of today but they can't compete with the emotions, IMO. Click HERE! and groove out. Hey George!! That's not a slap-ball-chain they're doing is it?? sudo (betting only REAL oldies fans will know it)

Outcast, Oh well.. but please do stick around. Make some new friends! :) sudo

Raf, Ahhh!! Now I remember! We were comparing one "Professor" Harold Hill with another "Doctor" who both happened to be in the same line of work. Yes yes.. its coming back to me now but you indeed have shown me up big time. That clip is marvelous. Kristin Chenoweth is amazing and I had never even heard of her! The voice reminds me of Julie Andrews'. Thank you, Raf, for posting that. It really is thrilling. sudo (coming up short)
