Interesting thoughts...Interesting parallels.... I could certainly relate to Dorothy as a youngster...As a kid,there was a highway that we used to often cross that for miles slowly rose into the horizon...We never took it,but I had always wanted to see the world on the other side of that horizon... In Laleo's last paragraph about wondering how long people stayed in TWI in search of a home,I would say I probably stayed in it because I thought I found my home...After being out for umpteen years,I found myself once again looking for a place to hang my hat...I ran across g-spot and revisited my TWI years...It kinda reminded me of lyrics to a Pretenders song: I went back to Ohio But my family was gone I stood on the back porch There was nobody home I was stunned and amazed My childhood memories Saw this world past Like the wind through the trees Ay! Oh! where did you go,Ohio So,I guess it's back to the yellow brick road....

I've already bragged to Rocky that Arte Moreno(back to camera)was one of the coaches on my son's little league team...Good down-to-earth guy...He seems to be following Jerry C.'s lead in going after free agents....The restaurant owners' daughter where they were at is a neighbor...Gee,why wasn't I invited to have a beer with them? Speaking of those old Dodger teams,a buddy of mine in the corpse was at the game where Koufax pitched his perfect game against the Cubs,and left in the 7th inning with his dad to beat traffic!..Little remembered about that game was that the Dodgers scored their run without the benefit of a hit,and Cub pitcher Bob Hendley allowed only a meaningless,bloop double to Lou Johnson,else it could have been a double no-no...

Hap, Wow,you bring back some memories....We never met,I just remember you teaching at that youth advance in Marinette...I was an anonymous 15-year-old new grad then...I remember Joan,and D*sm*nd ran my class... In '74 P*tt*t and I drove from Chicago to Springfield for some reason to pick up some wows or something...When we pulled into town we realized we didn't know where they lived or their phone#....About 30 seconds after we realized that,we saw two cars parked in a driveway with way bumper stickers on them-the house we were looking for.... I was "tripped out" most of 1973(probably 'cuz I was ripped off by the adversary),so I never made it to that Limb meeting...I got talked back into returning by Row C*rls*n...I used to like this little Debbie girl who later married Steve Str**t,they were from Peoria.. Anyway,nice to hear from you...I'm sure we both look different than we did then...Good Lord,has it been 32 years?

Wow!..I get to have my own religion?..To cool... Well,first,I think I'll make bride-burning a mortal sin... And instead of red dots on our nametags,we'll all have "Rev." in front of our names... Anything over the ten drink limit will be a venial sin... Borrowing money to purchase a home is ok,as long as my name is somewhere on the deed... The tithe will be reduced to 5%(money orders made out to simonzelotes-sorry,no checks,please) And,oh yeah,I'd modernize things a bit...Instead of going up and down your lift list every day,you could record yourself speaking in tongues...Then you could put all the things on your lift list in your computer,and like when you hit the "reply all" button to send out spam,you just hit the "lift all" button and play a recording of your tongue...Then you can sleep longer and give more rest to your soul...

Yeah,I remember those...I good way to avoid walking around the dance,looking like a dork,was to volunteer to work pouring beer...Then you didn't have to wait in line 'cuz you always kept your own cup full,and you could avoid deep,meaningful but mostly uncomfortable mixing w/ the ladies...
